I rarely post anything on here, but I feel like this is a good time to tell you a little secret. I’ve been struggling with depression, anxiety, and panic attacks since I was a teenager. Although it may be on the mild to moderate side, it’s still not an easy thing to manage. I have days where I’m completely fine and normal and I also have days where I just want to end it all. Whenever I have an episode, I don’t eat, I lose interest in everything, I don’t work out, I stare at the ceiling, and I feel completely numb. Whenever I have to go to work, I hide my true feelings (which I don’t recommend at all) and no one else senses it. It doesn’t help that I’m the type of person who cares about others more than I care about myself.

I go to therapy every once in a while. My therapist has helped me pinpoint reasons why I think the way I do. I’m not ashamed about going because I know that’s what’s best for me. As a woman of color, most of us have been told to put mental health on the back burner. We’re told to be strong, confident, and not vulnerable. In reality, it’s hurting us in our community. We need to get out of that mentality and start discussions on our mental well-being. I know this was a short discussion, but I would look it up on google. And plus I had a long day at work, so I’m tired af. Love y’all have a great day!
