The Boys, Season 1 Episode 3, 17:33
OC for The Boys!!
Her name is Shadow Weaver, she would have been the replacement for Stormfront.
I really really REALLY like her and can't wait to use her more!!!! (≧▽≦)
More ranting for the Boys-
Homelander. He's an awful character but so well written, truly flawed and destined for failure. He's an abuser just as he is a victim and I feel some tend to chalk down one of those things in favour of the other. He's a villain, one who could have so easily turned out otherwise if he were given the chance. Obviously, a lot of the things he does is by his own accord HOWEVER him being raised by Vought as an experiment rather than an actual child was the catalyst of it all.
Mini side rant aside-
I like to believe that Homelander genuinely started out trying his best, trying to actually help people. I like to believe it wasn't an act or a front, not at first. He really wanted to help, he wanted the love and adoration of everyone just as much as he truly wanted to do good.
He craved adoration and appraisal so it only makes sense that he tried his hardest to be the best version of himself.
Not being raised in a stable nor suitable environment, however, maybe would have led to him not knowing how to deal with the result of it all. Not knowing how to cope when he fails something, not knowing how to control his emotions so he doesn't lash out and also not knowing that he can't just lash out when things don't go his way.
I like to think that after a while, he realised there was always some sense of fear of him from those in Vought. Not because he's trying to be his best self but because of his raw, unfiltered strength. They know what he's capable of and it could only be a matter of time before he realises it too.
That and after a while, maybe he realised that using scare tactics to get what he wanted was easier than trying to appeal to completely everyone. It slowly grew over time and his compassion would die down only to be replaced with narcissism and arrogance. He knows he's the strongest and Vought has made sure he knows that. He can get whatever he wants whenever he wants because he's the Homelander. Nobody could stop him even if they wanted to so why would he think to stop?
This show is consuming me I just remembered another thing I wanna ramble about-
SPOILERS FOR SEASON 5
Okay so in the last episode, we see Butcher in the White House where Homelander is. And- there's a certain look that Homelander gives him. A look of almost relief?? He seems glad that he's there.
I'd like to think that this is because as much as the two are rivals, their hatred for eachother runs so deep that it almost full circles to admiration. Butcher is the one who's never been afraid to stand up to him, who's been hunting Homelander this whole time without rest so long as he rises victorious.
And Homelander, while a deeply flawed character destined for failure, has only ever wanted to be loved. As we saw, he had the chance to kill The Legend but he didn't because he wasn't afraid of Homelander, he spoke to him openly and seemingly comfortably and even went as far as to welcome whatever fate Homelander had in store for him. And in turn, Homelander just let him go. Because the Legend treated him as an equal, like he was just another person. Homelander doesn't kill people who are unafraid of him.
To further this point, we see Homelander in season 1 back when he killed Madelyn Stillwell. He asked if she was afraid of him and she admitted to being so, that's when he used his heat vision on her in an almost tender way. She's someone he sought comfort in and knowing even she feared him, he hated it. So he killed her.
Butcher has never been afraid of Homelander, and for Homelander that's been a constant, bringing almost a sense of comfort to him.
And to further this point even MORE- we see him react similarly to Starlight during one of their interviews in Season 3. They are by no means friends, opposing eachother relentlessly behind the scenes. But during that interview, he says "I'm really glad you're here" to her, even going as far as to take her hand before pulling away. You could always chalk this down to their fake dating at the time and wanting to keep up appearances but if that were the case, they could have done so with something more exaggerated to really sell the whole dating act: a kiss for example, a hug even. But no, just a brief hand hold and his words only for her. He doesn't like her by any means but finds comfort in the familiarity of their rivalry, of her willingness to stand up to him, of her being someone unworthy in the moment of him killing.
Same goes for Butcher. Homelander even openly states that "it's too bad we're not going to have that last dance together" followed by "I'll miss us" when talking to Butcher. Followed by Season 5 Episode one where Homelander states when confronted by Butcher:
"I know we're not exactly equals but I'm compelled to say you are the only one who's ever challenged me. And there's a part of me that will be sad to see you go."
Most of what we've seen of Homelander has been an act, a front put up to maintain his supposed heroic persona. But in these moments, I truly to believe he finds some sense of comfort in those who oppose him, who don't fear him - Starlight perhaps being one of them, the Legend in the brief moment they shared, but primarily Butcher - the one who's always opposed him, who's been coming after Homelander since the very beginning, the one who's never backed down, the one who's even altered his body to take down Homelander.

ANOTHER RANT ABOUT THE BOYS-
Actually something I noticed and really REALLY admired and wanted to get my thoughts down. That being the cinematography, specifically the lighting.
I love how most scenes with the boys are kinda blue-ish, dull, murky, kinda reminds me of the first Twilight movie actually- which isn't saying much UNTIL you look at how lighting is portrayed whenever the focus is on the Seven.
It's bright, colourful, vibrant - just as is their marketing. Vought is a company of supes, sure, but it's also primarily a company in entertainment. The Seven are famous and wealthy, always presented in a positive, heroic light. And that's shown exactly in the lighting, the harsh contrast between the lives of the boys and the lives of the rich and famous of those in the Seven.
Obviously we know it's not as luxurious for everyone in the Seven, most cowering in fear under Homelander but that doesn't matter because that's not what the public sees. They only see how great and selfless they are, the complete opposite of how the supes truly are.
Another thing I like being the contrast in terms of the bad guys having vibrant lighting and the good guys having dull lighting. It's not something seen too frequently and I really love how it was used in this show.
Finished The Boys last night AAAAAND I have some thoughts-
The ending was definitely something. Did I like it? Sure- I guess. I mean it wasn't necessarily bad I don't think BUT there were lots of places I think they could have made it better, or maybe just things that I personally would have liked to have seen.
Primarily being Homelander - now don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved seeing how pathetic and helpless he was without his powers, how he was begging for mercy. BUT as much as I loved that, I would have ALSO loved to see him snap before we reached that point. I mean- the whole season- no, the whole SERIES was just a slow build up to Homelander's crashout and we never got it. The closest thing we got was in his daydream back in season 2.
He was a walking, talking, ticking time bomb and they had so much potential to just let him crash the absolute ever loving fuck out but they didn't. It would have been so cool to see them lean into the unhingedness of the comics and have him go on an absolute killing spree. He was dangerous at the beginning and became so much more so by the end and I wish they would have demonstrated that. I don't think the ending was bad, I do think there were missed opportunities though.
Overall, I still love The Boys and it will always have a dear place in my heart, definitely on my top 10 list of favourite shows.
Started watching The Boys.
Sometimes I find myself just pausing to take a minute to the ponder what the hell I'm watching - in the best way
The show is so absurd and random but also not at the same time?? I mean- you can see crazy clips out of context but also context doesn't really help either-
I only just started season 2 and I'm pleasantly surprised I think???? I mean I wasn't expecting to enjoy the show this much about also genuinely what the fuck am I even watching-
Okay so I finished the finale earlier today- well TECHNICALLY yesterday-
I would have posted earlier but I'm at a loss for words honestly.
I mean- did I like the ending?? Yes I suppose-??? It's a bittersweet ending I think.
All the time they spent together, all those thousands of years only to be erased. Though I'd like to think that it wasn't entirely erased given in the end, they managed to find their way back to eachother even if it WAS intentional.
The episode itself was painful though, I hated seeing the aftermath of how season 2 ended what became of Crowley in Aziraphale's absence.
The ending definitely wouldn't have been for me a few years ago HOWEVER I've definitely grown to love bitter sweet endings, visible in various movies I absolutely love. This ending I feel was the best we could have gotten, it's not a perfect ending but it's satisfying enough I think.
At the end of the day, they're still our ineffable husbands - evident in how after everything, they still managed to find their way back to eachother, fall in love all over again and what's more beautiful than that?
I am EXTREMELY late but I JUST finished season 2 of good omens-
That being said-
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT
"I forgive you." AZIRAPHALE SHUTCHO BITCH ASS UP, CROWLEY JUST PROFESSED HIS UNDYING LOVE FOR YOU AND THAT'S ALL YOU CAN SAY?????
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS BULLSHIT????????
I am NOT fucking ready for the last episode.
Also I find it really funny that Gabriel and Beelzebub have a much healthier ending (or what I assume to be their ending-)

I wanted to design a second persona for myself!!
As much as I LOVE zombies, I also really really really love the stars and what better way for me to show that than to create a whole character dedicated to them? A character that represents me nonetheless!!! :D
Though Ari the Zombie is still my main persona, this one was made purely just for funsies (☆▽☆)
Happy anniversary to my beloved <3

Art of my persona >:D
Not much to this other than I wanted to experiment with the lighting and I am extremely happy with how it turned out!!! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
Also!!!
I wanted to experiment with the filters on Ibis to try and give it the CRT look for a new pfp ^^
Also really liking how that turned out too (≧▽≦)
Less angsty this time-
I just thought up a cute scenario in which Ribecca gave Toodles a lil' makeover and wanted to draw it :D
I think the two of them would get along, like Ribecca being a cool older sister figure to Toodles or something
