Today, I had an interesting conversation with someone who asked me if I feel more American than from where I'm from. In a split second I said, I'm a true patriot of the USA. Being an immigrant, I have the appreciation for what the opportunity this country gave our family to grow and prosper. I have lived in a country where you have control over you and feel discrimination and also live in a country where you have the opportunity to build your own life. On this Independence day, as I sit and gaze over the American land, I feel the freedom to achieve any life I want. I'm so thankful to my parents for taking the leap of faith and bringing us over to this country for a better future.
