whoops I came up with a plot for my lemonverse (see under the cut)
so first we have awa who's based off lifetime achievement award (along with li) which is where his name comes from. he's the quote on quote 'main character' of my lemonverse but actually no he's just a mentally ill little shit who gets away with things cause he's smart yet too nervous to call the police when he needs to. he's just an anxiety ridden 13 year old who ended up obsessing over music from li so much that when she died he went overseas to try revive her like in the song. His parents died like a week later but he was already started on li and he only had funding from his rich friend to attempt to bring back one person so he revived her instead.
It takes about 3 months after he brings back li for them to get caught since awas ex called the police out of mild concern and a little bit of revenge since she couldn't handle his emotional baggage 👍
They get caught, Awa panics,and they go as far as to try send Li back overseas where she came from, and since it's very sus that she's alive somehow and awas parents are buried in the garden,she might get some of the blame since awa's like, 13 at this point? It's the day before his birthday when they get caught.
'hes just a kid, how would he be able to bring someone back from the dead?!' and all that
awa gets pissed off, he's crying from the thought of not seeing li again after everything,and he starts his 14th birthday in the worst way possible. He makes a run for it once he's not being watched,and it's a race against time to get to the airport before Li's gone forever.
A month or two later and awa and li are back from overseas, so this is where nemuko and the spirit phone get introduced. basically nemu has the telephone cause he's the touch tone telephone guy, and occasionally it rings and the person on the other side keeps going on about aliens and something about a soft fuzzy man? nemu kinda goes 'oh shit better investigate' and he's a little skeptical at first but then eventually starts believing in aliens and stuff. The events of touch tone telephone occur when awa comes back from overseas with li and nemu tries convincing them . Then they kinda just hang out at the arcade going on adventures whenever the phone rings.
They're friends with the main guy who runs the arcade, disco, and he ends up being cabinet man 👍
poor guy was working late on christmas eve cleaning up and got killed, making that the second and last person awas dragged back from the dead !
after the events of cabinet man (and after awa drags disco back from the dead) we get to no eyed girl where I don't have many plans except awas ex is the no eyed girl? might retcon her design if I do go down that route but ehhh
when he died is probably an unrelated incident, awa and the group go investigate a man who died under very strange circumstances per the request of the spirit phone guy (they still don't know who they are at this moment in time.)
sweet bod ends up with the local sweet shop getting shut down under speculation of using very ''''unusual ingredients'''' , bet you can't guess what they are 👍
eighth wonder is them finding out that gef the mongoose was the spirit phone guy, and now he's gonna make it everyone else's problem.

soft fuzzy man is gef's friend that they've gotta seek out because remember the guy who d13d under strange circumstances? yeah we still aren't over that. the soft fuzzy man knows some shit about it, but first they've gotta find him a girlfriend.
so you know how awa doesnt have parents? well he got adopted by this point I should've mentioned that it happened just between touch tone telephone and cabinet man. by nemus family specifically (disco also lives there too)
as your father I expressly forbid it is just nemus d/d getting annoyed at them for 2:50 seconds straight. whoops oh well guess he's dead now. I earn my life is just complaining about capitalism and him d/1ng. Rest in peace, but at least the m/m is okay 👍
eventually capitalism gets so bad that awa just goes 'fuck it, let's run for president' and we have reaganomics? it doesn't work obviously.
so you remember the mansion of other people's skulls from when he died? the man made object guy wants to recreate it for some reason? Apparently he had a strange dream about rebuilding it bringing about some kinda miracle? Whack

as it turns out, the guy didn't actually fucking die!!! What was the point? I dunno but he's a bit unhinged! Has a bunch of fucking ants now for some reason, they're all in the replica mansion and it's scary. Found one of his missing children though which is pog 👍
What's not pog is that she's the kid based off the bill watterson song who kinda killed li, and that the when he died guy killed awas parents and possibly disco too?

Everyone gets therapy I guess, and the when he died guy designs the pepsi logo, there we have redesign your logo and you're at the party is the backstory to li dying.
