PARALIAN
[noun]
a dweller by the sea.

Dear Future Daughter: 1) When youâre at some party, chain smoking on the roof with some strange girl with blue hair and exorbitant large dark eyes, ask her about her day. I promise you, you wonât regret it. Often times youâll find the strangest of people have the most captivating of stories to tell. 2) Please, never mistake desire for love. Love will engulf your soul, whilst desire will emerge as acid, slowly making itâs way through your veins, gradually burning you from the inside out. 3) No one is going to fucking save you, anything youâve read or heard otherwise is bullshit. 4) One day a boy is going to come along whoâs touch feels like fire and whoâs words taste like vanilla, when he leaves you, you will want to die. If you know anything at all, know that it is only temporary. 5) Your mental health comes before school baby, always. If its midnight, and you have an exam the next day but your hands have been shaking for the past hour and a half and youâre not so sure you want to be alive anymore, pull out that carton of Ben and Jerryâs and afterwards, go the fuck to bed. So what if you get a 68% on the exam the next day? You took care of yourself and at the end of the day that will always come before a high test score. To hell with anyone who tells you differently.

Olivia Jane Wilde, you are such a beautiful woman.
This society is going to become more supremely racist when it is apparently not racist. And thatâs where itâs moving to at this point. When a white man tells you, âletâs not put race into this,â he is being the most racist at that point. You can have a society that removes all public expression on racism. You can have a society were people no longer overtly express racial hatred, and racist statements and behavior is outlawed, but you can still have a system that destroys millions and millions of Black people. Colin Powell and others are the signs of that kind of racism where the Black middle class will be sitting in these jobs and positions defending the system. You must recognize that racism is not an attitude. It is not a feeling of hatred toward another people. You must understand that racism and white supremacy is in the very structures and values of the institutions of the society itself. And until you revolve and change those structures and attitudes and values you will always be under the bottom.
Dr. Amos N. Wilson explaining racism and predicting the future almost twenty years ago (early 90âs).

the speech impediment of the 21st century (by Marc Johns)
Iâll fuck you up buddy this is not a speech impediment itâs linguistic evolution!! the existence of the phrase âAisha was likeâ allows the speaker to convey whatever Aisha said without making the listener assume theyâre quoting Aisha directly while still maintaining the FEELING of what Aisha said.
ie, Aisha said she didnât want to go out with me VERSUS Aisha was like, âIâd rather kiss a Wookieâ.
the addition of âXYZ was likeâ lets the speaker be more expressive and efficient and it is a totally valid method of communicating information!!
With the way language has evolved, this is one of the few ways I can even think of to express in casual conversation what someone said.Â
"So I said to Aisha," is certainly used, but if you remove the "so," which implies casual tone ("and" can be used in the same way), you get
"I said to Aisha," which is really formal in most English dialects/variations. I donât know about all, but in New England dialects, you sound like youâre reading aloud from a novel.
"I told Aisha," is really only used when you continue to describe, not tell, what you told her. Ex: "I told Aisha that James was too punk for her" works while, "I told Aisha, âJames is too punk for youâ" crosses the line back into formalness of the "I said."
Things like âI askedâ or âI answered [with]â are similar levels of casual and efficient to the âSo, I said [or say, as many conversations about the past take place in present tense anyway, as if the speaker is giving a play-by-play in the moment]â but are specific to only certain situations.Â
"I was like, 'Marc Johns, what is your obsession with restoring archaic speech patterns and interfering with the natural progression of English from complex to efficient?'" envelopes all of these easily and is accessible and crisp, and allows for more variations on inflection than the others.
Of course, James is probably like, âI already fucking said that.â But eh, I tried adding on.

also the OP is hella insulting to people that actually have a speech impediment
