pop quiz time! what do disability, ethnicity, rape, homosexuality, gender, transgenderism, poverty, mental illness, age, and addiction all have in common? none of them are a choice. the disabled and ill deserve affordable care. immigrants deserve healthcare and safety. rape victims deserve the option of abortion. members of the lgbtqia+ community deserve equal treatment and equal rights. women deserve equal salaries and an equal voice. the poor deserve care and, hell, a sweet treat whenever they want it. the mentally ill deserve support from their loved ones and affordable and accessible help. children and teens deserve to be taken seriously, to be listened to. addicts deserve food and second chances. everybody with a soul deserves love, equality, a chance to prove themselves, to have somebody who cares for them. nobody deserves to be alone. and nobody deserves to be under the control of people who don't care about them.
