why is adhd standing in the kitchen?Â
There’s just something about Allison Hargreeves building her life on rumors because it’s all she’d ever known that intrigues me SO much (I wouldn’t have written a 29k fic about the inevitable downfall if it didn’t). In the Academy, Reggie measured their worth based on how useful they were for the mission, so Allison never considered failure to be an option. She knew she could wrap Reginald right around her finger with just the right string of words, and I think that train of thought followed her into adulthood.
If the supposed solution to all of her problems was at the tip of her fingers, why shouldn’t she rely on it? Anyone would do the same, or at least that’s what she always told herself. Allison doesn’t like not being in control. She doesn’t like knowing what it feels like to lose, so she just chose to take everything into her own hands. And she controlled the entire narrative until it all came crashing down in the worst way possible, so she tries to rebuild. She tries to become a better person for the sake of her daughter even when she could solve it all with the slip of a tongue.
And she DOES become a better person. She actively makes the choice to atone for her mistakes and to make some amends in her family and she tries and tries and tries so hard. But then, thanks to her brother, she was thrown into the 60’s as a Black woman without her voice, her most powerful tool for the majority of her life until that point. So what does she do? Rebuild again! This time, she manages to make a life for herself without relying on her powers whatsoever, and she finds her voice in the Civil Rights Movement. She manages to find a new place to call home and manages to find love and hope in a time that’s so horrible and unfair, because if nothing else, if her daughter and her siblings are nowhere to be found, then at least she has that to cling to.
But then she decides to leave it all behind in the hopes of getting back to her daughter. She knows the risk, but she makes the decision to leave anyway. And I think that’s why her downward spiral in S3 makes so much sense and is so heartbreaking to watch. Because there’s this woman who’s lost it all more times than she can count, someone who used to be in control of every aspect of her life once upon a time, who never knew failure was an option, who tried so hard to right each and every one of her wrongs even when she didn’t HAVE to, who made the decision to build a new life for herself and to be kind and patient and selfless and YET…none of that was enough. She couldn’t save the one person she was fighting so hard for so of COURSE she’s mad. She’s rightfully angry and she’s grieving and she’s even downright cruel at points, but why wouldn’t she be?
Because there’s this woman – this woman who’s grieving and clinging onto the last bit of hope she has left because she can’t risk the possibility of losing complete control. And she doesn’t want her sacrifices to mean nothing. She wants to keep fighting until the very end even if it’s ultimately pointless because their lives HAVE to mean something. They have to mean something because she doesn’t know what she’ll do if they don’t. She wouldn’t be the person that she is without them. She doesn’t know where to take all this love and anger she has in her heart, so she decides to keep fighting and she makes horrible decisions and she may burn some bridges in the process but she’s HUMAN. She’s so deeply flawed and I love her so much
Part 2 of my Omori playthrough is up - I was originally brought to this game because of Reddit Place having a large and well maintained area on it and I’m so happy the fan base was so passionate to do that so that I could finally check out this charming title!

we need to go back to the water
I don’t know if this is referring to us collectively choosing to just drink water, or resorting back to our original form before life decided to grow legs and lungs. but Yes.
Oh, the chaos

Started a new game day today in lieu of uploading another episode of portal - A Juggler’s Tale! I cute little indie game about a marionette and the narrator that tells her story.Â
I’m finally trying to get back to posting on my Youtube Channel, and while I don’t intend on flooding my feed or the feeds that I tag with, I’m happy to get back into doing things for fun, and will probably post the first video of my series on here. At some point I plan on getting back to editing and posting Tempting Fates as well.
For now! Here’s my new favorite portal mod, Portal Reloaded! Such an inventive mod.
Remembering the time I spent 6+ hours writing different poems and limericks for a bard spell list I was using to replace a character who died and was super excited to break them out, and another player killed the buzz immediately by saying it was annoying.

Great Sky Ocean 10: Into the Maelstrom
THEY’RE FINALLY HERE!Â
If you follow my Twitter or my Instagram stories you’ve seen I’ve been chipping away at these for a while, and I’m happy to have the complete set at long last. It a fun exercise to imagine what each of TM9 were like as kids, especially the ones who’s childhoods we know less about, like Molly. Do you have any headcanons about TM9 as babies? Other than they must have been adorable, of course!
