Letter From the Artsnapper Team
Hey there, Artsnapper,
We know you’ve been waiting to hear from us for a while, and the good news is you won’t have to hold your breath a second longer. The Artsnapper app is going to change the way you access the art world, and it’s coming to a smartphone near you in early September. Please hold your applause (okay, don’t ).
You might be thinking, “Why September? Why can’t I have it now?” Well, Artsnapper is our baby, and we want it to come into the harsh, judgmental world as the best app it can be. Plus, we can’t let cool people like you be seen using an app that isn’t as awesome as yourself.
While we’re putting some final touches on the app, you can read up on what we have planned here (if you’re not into surprises ).
But we know that September is a long way away, and we don’t want you to be disconnected from the art world until then. Yes, we’re always thinking of you, and with you in mind we’ve been working hard on a blog  full of information to turn you into the smartest person in the gallery/in the room/at the gallery walk faster than you can say “Andy Warhol .”
Artsnapper would be nothing without you, and we want to take a second to say thank you for helping us create a community. To keep that community growing, make sure to share Artsnapper with your friends (or just spam it all over the Internet if you have no friends ). We even made some handy links for you to make it as painless as possible.
or copy and paste this into your favorite service: http://artsnapper.com?kid=1VQZ0
We'll be in touch.

Wang Qiang (Chinese, b.1963)
Ecstasy of Love no. 8, 2010
Easily mistaken for a cropped colour photograph, "Ecstasy of Love no. 8" (2010) is a stunning realist oil painting by acclaimed multi-media Chinese artist Wang Qiang. This dynamic painting belongs to the artist's famous series of circular paintings that all examine in incredible detail close up piles of pearls, meditation beads, strings of crystals and precious stones in a visually meditative and celebratory manner, intentionally hypnotic in color, rhythm and composition.
Yohji Yamamoto S/S 14 (by Cathrine Rabe Davidsen)
Samuel Salcedo.
Jose Romussi was born in Chile where he studied landscape design. Over the past few years he has gained a significant following for his screen prints and collages in which he combines vintage black and white photographs with colorful forms of embroidery. The supernatural power of dancers and their poses and movements inspire him with their precision and elegance. Romussi brings these pictures back to life with bright vibrant colors, underlining the dynamic of these frozen movements. With each new line of embroidery he invites the viewer to dream with him and to experience each subject's hidden vitality.

Book Paintings by Ekaterina Panikanova
Artist Ekaterina Panikanova creates densely layered paintings across large spreads of old books and other documents, resulting in artwork that blurs the lines between painting, installation and collage. Born in St. Petersburg in 1975 Panikanova graduated at the top of her class from the Academy of Fine Arts and was subsequently given a studio to work from for five years. She now lives and works in Rome. Much of what you see above was from her second ever solo show Un, due, tre, fuoco at z2o Galleria earlier this year, and if you’d like to see more, check out her website.Â
