The Concept

This story depicts that the adults are being unjust, or straight up evil. Doing whatever they want, as if heaven was promised to them. As well as the ignorant masses(I love that term) who would turn a blind eye, either out of fear, who are the victims, or someon who lacks empathy, are the authorities.

So what happens when the people of high power doing acts of evil and authorities do nothing? And the adults mindlessly support a corrupt system? People, especially young ones are going to take matters into their own hands, rebellion or vigilante.

But using a supernatural world to rebel? It feels like it gives the upper hand and a fair chance for the hero and the villain to fight their own differences. And you have the option to make them confess or dead.

The Characters/Confidants

I genuinely don't know what to say. Literally. My mind is completely empty. So I'm just gonna share a meme I found on reddit to explain the overall characters that share in common.

The Villains/Palace Rulers

These guys are unstoppable figures in the real world, I find it nearly impossible to take them down without the use of the Metaverse.

Like Kamoshida, he got the support of nearly everyone except his victims, from the Principal, to the teachers, to students who don't know a thing, even "some" of the ignorant masses. Like what could the victims even do?

And with Madarame, Kaneshiro, Okumura, they got Shido's "back up". Shido was a straight up monster dare I say, from his character, personality, ideology and actions.

As for the boss fights, Wakaba and Maruki was damn annoying to deal with, Wakaba took me a while to defeat. And why on God's green earth did Maruki do like 5 acts in 1 turn?

The Level Design/Palaces

For the first 3 palaces, they were alright, not too hard but not too easy and or repetitive. But for Futaba's and Sae's palace? Even the community from what I've seen hated it as well, to the point where they quit the game.

Overall

I'm going to admit, since I've played with FFWD most of the time, and knew the plot already from 5 years ago, I really can't say much honestly. Yeah disappointing I know, but I do not really hate the game, when I finished the game I got that vibe that rarely other games had. But I feel like this whole "review" would change if I were to play it for the first time without knowledge of the game beforehand.

I apologize if the review is messy, this is probably my first long written review about anything. And my opinion may not be the same as yours, but that's alright, hopefully you don't care anyways...right?

Comments/Facts about my gameplay and stuff

I was hesitant when I bought the game at first, because I do not want to be related to those persona fans,(even though I used to be one of them) I know the fandom and the work are separated, but still.

Every time Ryuji goes on "babe hunting" I turn my back from the screen and let FFWD do its job, the same with Ryuji's beaten up scene.

I know this isn't reddit, but who the hell is Jamal-kun? I know Brandon but who the hell is Jamal-kun? And why does Yukiko love him?

Before you ask, I didn't romanced anyone, cuz I wanna hang out with my bros, but I have no knowledge of giving flowers to Sojiro on White Day.

I don't know what prompted me to say this but I'm just gonna say it, Investigation Team had a much better friendship and bond over the Phantom Thieves. Not saying the Phantom Thieves friendship is the worst.

This was the second game that I finished on my Switch V1.

Yeah, to my 22 followers, this isn't an art post. Anyway, I finally got to play Deltarune Chap 3 and 4 last week. I was waiting for the game to go on sale, and then decided to want to play on the switch, but then screw it just buy it on Steam.

So between the period the new chapters and by the time I got to play it, roughly a 4 month gap or so, I've been getting memes, screenshots, or fan art of the game. Of course I try to ignore it or quickly swipe over. But I was exposed to new content regardless, but with little context.

One of which is Asgore running over Dess. Now since I didn't play the game at all, I thought this was cannon. And which explains some questions about the games plot.

Until I decided to play chapter 4, where Toriel and Rudy had a conversation about Asgore. They didn't specifically mention "Dess running over" or the likes.

So I thought, is this where they hinted that Asgore ran over Dess? Until I finished Chapter 4 and thought, "Huh, when did it explicitly mention Asgore running over Dess?".
