Everything must be taught, even compassion. If i were to see a person dying on the street now, I would do everything in my power to save them. But when I was in North Korea, I saw people dying and dead in the streets. I felt nothing. Not because I'm a psychopath but because I never learned the concept of compassion. It was only after I learned the words and concepts of compassion, sympathy, apathy that I felt them in my heart. And I feel them now.
