Re-watched Rebuild of Evangelion. I noticed something.
Mari always cuts her connections when she’s fighting.
On the first scene, she disables the audio transmission from the base and fights without any guide.
On the scene where she’s about to fight Zeruel, Misato was talking to Maya about how the two-way link is cut.
Mari likes fighting alone! And so does Asuka!
Asuka did not like the idea of fighting with Shinji or Rei, and also hates it when being told what to do.
But they talked a lot in Rebuild 3.0 while fighting? Asuka even listened to Mari and stopped firing at Mark 06.
That is Asuka who’s gonna shout at you for telling her what to do HOW CLOSE ARE YOU TWO FOR HER NOT TO GET ANGRY A BIT.
I dunno, just a cute little bit that I noticed but dang, I would love to know how these two got to know eachother and how they got comfortable in those 14 years and knowing that they’re most likely the only ones that could understand eachother that whole time, they must have a really deep relationship maybe they’re good friends maybe they’re friend friends, y’know?
It makes me happy that Asuka isn’t lonely anymore and that someone is looking out for her, and I like that it’s Mari, another Evangelion pilot.
And that’s a reason why I’m dying in here waiting for Rebuild 4 have a good day I’m still waiting for that Mari and Asuka backstory
