Rieken laughed a bit. "I think I could be tricked onto it, because I can't see. I, however, do not think I would be able to get off of it though when I touched back on the ground. I can just imagine the way my head would swim." He smirked a bit, leaning into Rhett's touch. "I promise not to make you go on it."
He gave a firm nod when Rhett said that getting into a horse enclosure would ruin an evening. "Yes, yes, I need all the protection..." He hummed happily. He walked alongside him through the crowds of people, letting Rhett describe the rides around them. "Romantic and tame is nice, spinning is risky... the pirate ship though sounds like a nice in between..."
Rhett laughed, shaking his head. “See, that’s exactly the problem. You’d agree to it before realizing what was happening, and then I’d spend the next hour trying to guide a man who suddenly forgot which way gravity works.” His hand settled at the small of Rieken’s back as they moved through the crowd.
The corner of his mouth lifted into a smile when Rieken declared he needed protection. “Good thing you found a marine patrol officer then. Very useful for avoiding horse pens, rogue carnival rides, and whatever other hazards you decide to discover.” When Rieken settled on the pirate ship, Rhett nodded immediately. “Pirate ship it is.” He steered them in that direction, the sounds of screams erupted from the passengers. “Okay,” Rhett said, glancing up at it. “Updated description. It’s a giant boat that swings back and forth higher than seems necessary. Everyone on it sounds either thrilled or deeply concerned about their choices.” He squeezed Rieken's hand. “Still interested?” he asked with a grin. “Or would you like to abandon ship before we even board?”
