Dubsâ gaze shifted among the expressions of the crowd, allowing their rage to fuel him. He could feel the pull of the gravity within the center of the black hole, but he found himself distracted by the fear and concern present on the faces that surrounded him. His brow furrowed.
Something was very wrong. They were not supposed to fear the power. Those that put themselves on the wrong side of history were the ones that should be afraid.Â
âWhy do you fear when you can FIGHT?!â
At the sound of a familiar voice, his eyes quickly moved towards Meredith. Her face seemed contorted in terror and he followed her eyes to his expression of power finding it to have grown even larger than heâd intended or expected. He couldnât help the small smirk that played at his lips.Â
         âIâm really doing itâŚâÂ
He muttered to himself before conceding to the fact that he had to end this. Heâd made his point and it was time to pack up. âAlright. Alright⌠Iâm just showing the world that we are not the ones who should be runningâŚâ And with that, he closed his hand, expected the black hole to close as well.Â
                        However, it did not.
Meredith couldnât tell if she needed to put herself on the other side of the barricade and risk a full out riot, or stand at the front of what could easily turn into a full out stampede.
Even within the community there ran fear. Some things, some basically harmless ability, like flight, were commonplace and not feared. Meredithâs mind whirled with a basic and probably flawed, general interpretation of science, trying to understand what in Hell Dubs had just went to create.
Whatever it was, it wasnât stopping, and the first thing Meredith thought was that it was time to put some of that good old, terror fueled training to good use. Flagging someone to help her over the barricade, saying with more force than she felt that âIâm with him,â the entire time, she got as close to Dubs as she could with the platform and general height difference.
âDubs!â Meredith said, watching as the hole didnât close, and then a sharp âfuck!â escaped her lips. Her mind scrambled for a plan, hearing more noise, mixed noise rise up from the crowd. âWhat IS that?â
