Akane Taira is not the mastermind, she would never hurt anybody...

“It can’t be that bad, can it? Kyoko-chan said she did it in twenty seconds after all!” The two girls had come to Madoka’s room to do homework together. However, having finished that, the pink haired girl had discovered a new way to entertain themselves. She held the spoon full of cinnamon up to her mouth. “Okay, are you ready?”

“Y-yes.” Homura still wasn’t ready to see Madoka hurt herself, but she pressed the record button regardless.

“Here I go!” Madoka closed her eyes and placed the spoonful of cinnamon into her mouth. Almost immediately she coughed up a huge cloud of cinnamon and dropped the spoon on the floor, gagging uncontrollably; her pubescent taste buds no match for the the powdered Cinnamomum bark.

“Kaname-san!” Screamed Homura in distress, dropping the still recording video camera to the floor and running to her side.

“W-water…” stammered Madoka between coughs. Homura ran out the door into the hallway, tripped once, and continued downstairs to the kitchen. Madoka’s father was already at the counter, chopping lettuce for dinner.

“Oh, hello Akemi-chan. Do you need something?”

“Where do you keep your water glasses!” Shrieked Homura. Mr Kaname calmly opened a cabinet, reached inside for a glass, and handed it to Homura. She snatched it out of his hands, filled it with water from the sink, and raced back upstairs to Madoka’s room.

When she returned Madoka was lying on the ground on her side. “Madoka!” screamed Homura. Madoka coughed weakly in reply. Homura held up the girl’s head and tipped the water glass into her mouth. Madoka reflexively spit out the first sip, then downed the entire glass without stopping.

She looked up at Homura’s face and, despite the tears in her eyes, smiled. “Homura-chan… that’s the first time you called me by my first name…”

“Madoka…” Homura was crying now. She embraced the spice-stricken girl and wept openly. “I fucking told you the cinnamon challenge was a load of shit! Why’d you have to go and do it?”

Madoka weakly hugged Homura back. “Everything smells like hot tamales Homura… Help me, I am dying.”
