The Underground Doctor

“i don’t always come injured…” did he? ah, maybe he should come by a little more often when he was in a better mood. 

“If you were being so considerate as to let me come here to watch people you wouldn’t have also made me play this stupid game,” He sighed, leaning away from his friend and back, using his arms for support. “Just hurry up with whatever creepy research your trying to do.” He watched as the bottle span once again, there were enough people he wasn’t too worried about it landing on him and even if it did he was close enough to Shinra to pass it off to him. Probably.

Shinra blinked as innocently at him as his sketchy face could possibly appear to be. “What problem would I have with it? You like people watching and I’m here to learn all about the intricacies of juvenile sexuality. It’s a very important lesson for a romantic scientist such as myself.”

“Shinra…” he greeted him calmly, luckily Shizuo wasn’t hurt when he visited this time around,only wanting to check in with his friend. “How have you been?”

“         I go out of my way to pay my dear friend a visit and THIS is how i’m greeted ? Shinra, i’m wounded~!         ”

A hand comes up to cover his heart in a mocking gesture. 

Shinra, I’m wounded! He mocked in his head in exasperation as he turned back towards the door to his flat. 

She deadpans at the sight of the broken cell phone. A part of her wasn’t all too surprised by this outcome though. Instead, she pulls out her own cell phone with a tiny sigh. She can’t rely on him for anything huh?

“Do you know her number? I can just call her myself…” She’s already pulling up the keypad. Hopefully he at least has her contact info memorised. And next time she talks to celty, she’ll have to remember to ask for said info herself. That way, she won’t have this problem next time she gets herself into some trouble.

Absolutely not!

“Of course I know her number, it is etched into my heart like the language of the heavens!” He claimed rather dramatically, clutching the shattered technology in his fist. What if she had sent him some beautiful photos of herself? Unlikely but maybe! Perhaps even of some little joy she found on her journey about town.... And he would have missed it because of this tragedy!

“Shhh! Keep your voice down.” It’s like she’s scolding a small child. There really wasn’t any way to get his mind out of the gutter when it came to the black rider. She doesn’t have a problem with the man being so in love with Celty. But if he could just focus for just a few minutes, that would be great. 

Rei takes a moment to peer out of the shed, checking to see if their two assailants had followed them up here and were searching for them. She doesn’t spot anyone but it’s safe to assume that they should wait a little longer just to be safe. “If you could at least tell celty to pick us up from this location, that would be great. I think we’ll be fine…”

Shinra ducked his head at her nagging, placing a hand over his mouth as he artfully wrapped up the fantasies swirling around in his head. Whenever the love of his life was mentioned, he truly lost what little reason he could be accused of having. What use was there in such a concept when Celty herself was all encompassing in his heart and mind? He didn’t have the willpower or desire to entertain anything but his love for her once it bloomed in his chest.

There a small frown. “Do I have to remind you that there are a couple of people currently after us?” Voice is laced with annoyance as she turns to look at the underground doctor. They wouldn’t be in this mess if she didn’t go and provoke the two men. She didn’t need to call them out for whatever shady thing the two were doing. A part of her feels guilty for dragging Shinra into this mess. But there’s nothing she could do about that now.

An idea pops into her head at the mention of celty’s name. “If you wanna go home so badly, why not just give celty a call and tell her to come rescue us. She’s pretty good at scaring off thugs, right?”
