@sagafox here, actual blog runner. This is a Pokemon RP blog for my non-canon region, Ikoni, (Loosely based on Washington State) and some OCs I made for it. Champion Rank Aelita, Pokemon Researcher Dave, and Contest Coordinator Honey.
You can find their Introduction posts here.

Hi! I'm Aelita-Gracidea, (She/Her/Any) one of the champion rank reps from Ikoni! This blog was supposed to be me and my two best buds, but t

To be honest, I'm not sure why I agreed to this. I'm not terribly good at engaging with others. Aelita has been asking for weeks now however
You can find more info about the Ikoni region with this post here
Ikoni Story Bible and other fun stuff!
Early on in this blogβs life someone asked if Iβd be okay with people making an OC from my fan-regio
A couple additional things to note about the region and how this blog will operate
Champion is a rank the same as in Paldea but is also an occupation. Aelita is Champion Rank, but not the top Champion you would fight at the Elite Four
I am happy for people to create OC's for the Ikoni region. Please refer to the link above for more info.
This blog is happy to interact with the shenanigans of other blogs
This blog is friendly to sapient pokemon blogs, eeby deeby blogs, and hybrid blogs. There may be some skepticism from a couple of the dweebs, but I will be sure to check blog bios first.
PLEASE feel free to send asks to my OCs or me. If the ask is for me, please label it OOC so I know you're asking me specifically.
The following ask types are currently on
Pelliper Mail
Rotom Leak
Data Leak
I may, at some point, start getting into the wider story that is supposed to happen in this region. I have no intentions of getting any more serious than a mainline game, but if that's not for you that is fine. Any posts meant to move that story along will be tagged #IkoniPlot so you can avoid it.
All in character posts will be labeled with the tag #pkmn irl. Any posts with this tag are entirely fictional in nature. This is to clear up the #unreality tag for those who need it for other purposes.
This blog may use strong language but is uninterested in engaging with NSFW content.
This blog only follows other IC blogs. If you follow this blog and I like your non-IC blog I might follow it from my main account.
I hope you all enjoy this blog. I look forward to interacting with everyone!

Millcery and Alcreamie Body Language, Behaviours, and Culture
I love Alcreamie a lot, and I find them very interesting. I genuinely have nothing else to say lol
Body Language & Behaviour
Swaying
I'm sure many Alcreamie trainers have noticed this cute little behavior they do. Alcreamie sway back and fourth for a couple of main reasons: the first one is to better ground themselves if their cream starts slipping, the second is because they are uneasy and checking their surroundingd, the third can actually be a sign that they are content, and the fourth can be a sign that they dont like somethin. It can be difficult to tell the reason why your Alcreamie is swaying, so it's best to look at their expression to check. For example: the yellow Alcreamie is swaying while turning to her side and putting a hand over her mouth, showing that she feels curious about this place and is checking her surroundings.
This Alcreamie is grossed and displeased about something (I showed her broccoli and she no likey π)
Spinning
The behaviour that Milcery is most known for. Milcery spin to show that they are very happy and excited. They will often grab something to spin with them, be that a strawberry sweet or a piece of lint they found on the floor. Alcreamie spin too, but Milcery do it a lot more often.
Shaking
A behaviour seen in Milcery, and basically their version of swaying. The shaking is more similar to jiggling, and Milcery do this when their happy or trying to get your attention.
Goop
When Alcreamie feel scared, they will melt into goop. It's not as goopy as you may think, like with ditto, it's more clumping and doesn't go all the way. Think of it like how Dewgong l shrink into themselves. That's the best way I can describe it.
Sweating
Believe it or not, milcer and alcreamie sweat, just like us! Though, it looks a little different. Instead of water, the sweat is the color of their cream and is thicker, which can leave piles of wet cream under them. No, there is a 95% chance your milcery/alcreamie is fine. This is a completely normal behaviour, thought I suggest taking them out of the hot whether or seeing what their stressor is.
Deflating
When sad, bored, or embarrassed, Milcery deflate.
"Jumping"
A hopping motion that Alcreamie do when they want something.
Shaking
Milcery shake when they're happy or trying to tell you something.
Raised Body
Alcreamie raise the cream on their body when they feel surprised or threatened. Think of it like how a meowth arches its back when it's scared.
Courting
Alcreamie prefer to breed asexually, so they don't have many courting behaviours. But when they do find a mate, they'll do things like make them cream, hold their hand (if their partner has a hand), hug them, kiss them, etc. Milcery court similarity, but just don't make their partners cream because they are unable to.
Cream Making
I mentioned that Alcreamie will make cream for their mates, but they also make cream for their groups to reestablish bonds. This extends to their trainers as well. With their trainers, Alcreamie will give them cream they make to get closer to them or to reestablish already made bonds.
Tapping and Slapping
When Milcery/Alcreamie want to be left alone, like when they're being petted when they don't want to, they'll gently tap your hand. If you don't stop petting them, they'll end up giving quick soft slaps to your hand. Pokemon like Meowth and Purloin do this as well.
Zoomies
Milcery get the Zoomies. Alcreamie don't bcuz they're too slow, lol. They get the zoomies when they can't contain the excitement.
Kissing
Milcery/Alcreamie kiss anyone they like to show affection, be that their friends, family, mates, or trainers, most often on the cheek. It feels weird at first (you get frosting in your face), but you get used to it.
Decorating
Alcreamie decorate everything. Decorating id when Alcreamie (specifically Alcreamie, not usually done by Milcery), is when Alcreamie find an object they like, so they make different designs on it using their cream or other items they find. In the wild, they decorate their homes with flowers or their cream (which can bring unwanted bugs), but on the house, this can translate to them decorating their pokeball or their toys. I recommend getting them stickers.
Kneading
You know, like makin biscuits? Alcreamie do s kneading motion on the spot they are trying to get comfortable.
Culture
Groups
In the wild, milcery and alcreamie live in groups with other members of their kind, and this behavoiur extends to captivity as well. If you have a milcery or alcreamie, ir suggest trying to find other trainers with milcery/alcreamie and setting up play dates with them, because they can get lonely without it. Moving on, these groups can range from 10 to 30, with the largest Alcreamie group in recorded history being a group of Alcreamie with 250 members in 1951, Wyndon, Galar. While they prefer Alcreamie, they have been know to except other pokemon into their groups (one time at the center there was a group of 6 Alcreamie who were all in a polygamous relationship, and one male Roselia that decided to join them in their poly. I think about them a lot). A group of Alcreamie can be called a Creamery.
Raising
In milcery/alcreamie groups, they take the "it takes a village to raise a kid" to heart, with the entire group raising them. The mother Alcreamie will provide the young milcery with milk (fun fact: Alcreamie are one of the few non mammalian pokemon that can produce milk), while the other milcery/alcreamie will do the rest; like providing shelter and babysitting.
Naming
Naming is common in pokemon that live in groups. Alcreamie do name themselves and their young, which is just a variable of sounds. It's pretty difficult to know if it means anything since they don't have a written language like Pawniard or Weavile.
Celebrating
Believe it or not, Alcreamie do have gatherings where they celebrate. What they celebrate varies widely. They celebrate for things like food, rain, fertility, or even because it might just be a sunny day. Some researchers believe that Alcreamie could have religious festivals, but there isn't much proof to confirm any of this, let alone if they even know what religion is. They celebrate by singing (it's cute as Hell), dancing, eating, and playing. Usually hold these celebrations in wide open spaces.
Cliques
Yes, Alcreamie groups have cliques, and they work just how you'd expect. Younger Milcery tend to gravitate towards each other, elderly Alcreamie like to have close friends their age, and Alcreamie like to form close friendships with Milcery/Alcreamie with similar interests. It might not seem like much, but this shows that Alcreamie have social learning skills and social cognitive skills as well, which is something to note.
Evolution Parties
This falls into the celebration category, but I'm putting it here because this is going in the order I remember. Unlike a lot of other pokemon who evolve with items (like Raichu or Scizor), Milcery and Alcreamie make finding sweets a big event. When Milcery come of age, a bunch if Alcreamie will gather as many sweets (as in things like strawberry sweets, blueberry streets, clover sweets, etc), take them back to their camp, and lay them out in big organized piles for the Milcery to choose which one they want to evolve with. For Alcreamie, this is seen as a coming of age for growing Milcery who are about to become Alcreamie, a d they celebrate by playing games, eating a lot of food, and friendly battles to test out their newly found strength.
Weddings
You read that right. Alcreamie have weddings. Alcreamie are polygamous, so the wedding can be between 2-6 pokemon (sometimes more). Alcreamie's weddings are celebrated when an Alcreamie and its partner (since their partner isn't always an Alcreamie) will celebrate with their friends and decorate different foods they have gathered. It's not as big of a celebration as human weddings, but it's something.
(And no, I'm not talking about Mystery Dungeon. Though I could. And will, later, we'll get to that.)
By definition (the third definition, because the first and second ones just cite other words rather than actually defining anything which Bugs Me on principle), sapience is the "[a]bility to apply knowledge or experience or understanding or common sense and insight." (Source.)
And that's... a pretty wide definition, huh?
The narrower ones exclude quite a lot of humans, which I assume most people would rather not do, so I'm sticking with this one.
...Well. You sure do level up in game, you know, in the main games that most people here have at least a passing level of familiarity with, by gaining experience. (Source.) Which is, presumably, applied to level up in the first place.
"But that's just a game mechanic!" I hear you pointing out. "That doesn't mean anything!"
Try Alakazam, whose "brain can outperform a supercomputer" (Yellow) and that "has an incredibly high level of intelligence" (Sword).
Or Absol, which "has the ability to foretell the coming of natural disasters" (Sapphire) and "possesses a calm disposition and warns people of any crises that loom" (Moon).
Or Flamigo, which can "attack simultaneously in perfect harmony" (Violet) with others of its species?
(Sources for: Lapras, Flamigo.)
And how about common sense and insight?
...Well, we've got to define those two first, because common sense isn't all that common among us humans and my immediate thought with "insight," due to a game I recently beat, is... definitely not the normal definition!
So. Common sense is defined as "[s]ound judgment not based on specialized knowledge." (Source.)
Whereas insight is defined as "[t]he ability to discern the true nature of a situation, especially by intuition." (Source.)
I'm just going to point out, again, for the record, that neither of these things are remotely universal among humans, and yet no one is claiming that sapient humans are bad worldbuilding.
But I'll get to that.
There's Hatenna, which "senses the feelings of other living creatures" (Violet).
There's the entire Togekiss line. Togetic appears "before kindhearted, caring people and shower[s] them with happiness" (Gold) and Togekiss "shares many blessings with people who respect one anotherβs rights and avoid needless strife" (Platinum).
(Also, while I'm not particularly familiar with the anime or pokespe, I have been informed of a Lapras that is a trainer in the former and a Togepi that gambles in the latter. So I wouldn't say this is solely for game canon.)
But never mind all that.
I'm sure there are at least a few people reading this who are still unconvinced, and that's fine. People can have different interpretations of source material. That's good, that's healthy, if everyone interprets the source material in the same way you don't get anywhere near the diversity you should have in a healthy fandom.
HOWEVER.
Calling something that has immense amounts of canonical support "bad worldbuilding" is two things, in my eyes.
Firstly? It's wrong. See above. I barely even scratched the surface, but I'm sure I would find a lot more examples of canonical sapience if I had the time and energy to go digging for it.
Secondly, and worse than it being wrong:
It's mean. We're all here, pokeblogging, to have fun. And calling a central tenet of someone's blog "bad worldbuilding" is just being a bully, full stop.

OOC\\ Already changed my pinned post to reflect this, but the following are currently on for Ikoni Dweebs
Pelliper Mail
Rotom Leak
Data Leak
Additionally, if it wasn't previously clear, this blog is friendly to Sapient Pokemon blogs, Eeby Deeby blogs, and Hybrid blogs. There may be some skepticism on the part of a couple of the Dweebs, but I will make sure to check bios first to make sure the blog in question hasn't requested interactions to avoid that.
i see all this stupid discourse about what ball you caught your pokemon in and how if it doesnβt match you donβt respect them or whatever idk not the point
my question is: canβt you just like. paint it. or buy a case.
the pcs still accept modified balls since they have to accept seals anyways. and while the case wouldnβt fit in the pc you could take it off. so like. whatβs the problem lol
People are judging other people for what kinds of pokeballs they use? Gross!
Honestly a case would be obnoxious imo, but yeah, just paint the damn things. Or use stickers.
I personally use luxury balls because they're cozier for the pokemon, but like, not everyone can afford that shit. Either way, aesthetics should be maybe the least important factor when deciding what to use for your pokemon.
So what if someone's Galarian rapidash comes in a Great Ball? Is it happy? Is it thriving? Then it's none of your dang business. Grow up people!
i recently visited Paldea and. why are your pokemon centers so different? they look like gas stations
those are express centers for travelling trainers designed to take the load off of fully-stocked pokemon centers. while you can absolutely take your pokemon there for a pop in the healing machine even if you don't battle, you can't get a full medical workup done there. travelling trainers are encouraged to use these express centers unless they have a more urgent health concern so that locals who need routine veterinary work done aren't crowded out of the centers.
you can tell they're geared more towards travellers because they also have pokemart staff and a tm machine located at them, and nurses stationed there are trained in providing guidance and advice for trainers who aren't sure where to go next on their journey.
Do you know if a Tatsugiri needs to bond with a Dondozo? Or is it fine to raise one without the other?
Good question! Tatsugiri and Dondozo are a symbiotic pair, so in the wild you'll often find them cohabitating, to the point that Tatsugiri use Dondozo's mouths as a safe place to raise their young. You'll also frequently see them paired up in battle settings, for the same strategic reasons as in the wild- Tatusgiri as the commander, Dondozo as the fighter. Captive Tatsugiri do not require a Dondozo to be happy, though! As long as they feel safe and well-provided for, Tatsugiri will be perfectly happy to interact with teams without a Dondozo, or even to be a solo pokemon.
This might be a harder ask of wild-caught Tatsugiri than ones born in human care, as they will be expecting something big and strong they can rely on to protect and provide for them. What you'll need to do is prove that the big and strong thing is you! Tatsugiri are extremely smart, one of the smartest dragon-types out there- and they're incredible judges of intent. You can't just win them over with regular feeding times and enrichment, these little guys know you're smarter than their usual partners and they will test you. Don't take it personally- they want to know that you're reliable enough to protect them and smart enough to know how. They'll defy training and hide things, or hide themselves- reactions of violence and anger will naturally make them less trustworthy, but keeping calm and composed and engaging in problem-solving will help them come to respect you. A Tatsugiri that's come to view you as a friend and reliable partner will feel more like a cat pokemon than a fish- they'll feel safest near you, and while they'll still be a bit mischievous, they'll be engaging in those behaviors for fun, not malice.
As always- your mileage may vary. Pokemon are individuals, and individuals have different reactions to the same situations. Your Tatsugiri might be more fearful than the one I described- be sure to spend time in the same room, doing calm activities so it can get used to you. Your Tatsugiri might have a lot of aggression that it'll try to take out on your furniture or other pokemon- have a firm (but calm) hand and give it some battle training to prove your tactical strength. Maybe your Tatsugiri will cuddle up in your lap the second you let it out of its ball! There's no one size fits all approach, but having a good idea of species tendencies in training is never a bad thing to have.
After the incident with the guy releasing a dondozo here in Hoenn and it getting beat up by one of the local whiscash, I think it's the dondozo who need the tatsugiri.
Fun fact about our region. Tatsugiri in Ikoni are an invasive species which have actually adapted to a regional part psychic form. They have pads on their fins that grip really tightly to things, and they use their psychic powers to control other pokemon for protection. It's kind of like Paras/Parasect except that you won't harm either pokemon by removing the tatsugiri from its host.
They're still super cute, but also a major nuisance in the coastal areas of the region.

(i'm being late to the party i know. Also sorry if this was asked before, i don't feel like going through the backlog to check :3)
@koffing-time
No big @koffing-time! You're actually the first, lol!
Sorry for the late reply. Anyway, I'd have to say Maximon, my Gengar. I met him as a Haunter in Clymene City, which isn't exactly the kind of place you usually find wild ghost pokemon around here.
Basically it went like this and... man, the first part of this story is actually kind of embarrassing. It was in the middle of my pokemon journey and I'd been pulling some all-nighters trying to get from one city to another (remember kids, your journey isn't a race, make camp and SLEEP!) I got to Clymene and, instead of finding a place to rest, I decided to go to the big mall they have there. I know, I know, really stupid.
Well, if you can believe it, not only did I wind up falling asleep in a camping store while checking out a display tent, NOBODY NOTICED!!!
Cue me waking up at like, 1am, store completely empty.
Thankfully there was a door instead of a gate and I was able to get out of the camping store. Next thing I know though, things around me are floating, I'm hearing noises, seeing things out of the corner of my eye. I'm telling myself I'm just imagining things, but it just keeps getting crazier and crazier, I'm getting more and more terrified, until finally it's nearly dawn and here's this Haunter just floating in front of me... laughing at me.
Honestly, if I hadn't been so relieved, I probably would've been pissed. As it was, I was so relieved, I started laughing too.
Catching him wasn't hard after that. Honestly, I think he was just lonely. I did make a point of finding a good place for a nice long sleep before even trying the Clymene gym though, lol.
My Gardevoir, Titania, hands down! lol. Poor girl is the shortest of the group and very shy. Maximon (my Gengar) delights in startling her, though I try to keep things from getting too rough there.
