Pokemon Platinum Nintendo DS 2008
I keep practicing, but i'm really bad at throwing the pokeball. It never goes where i want, and i get laughed at. Miss Charlie, how do you get the ranger special top thingy to go where you want it to?
i'm sorry to hear that. throwing pokeballs is actually a pretty difficult skill that takes a lot of practice, and not everybody picks up on it, the same way not everybody picks up on battling or cooking or any other skill. the people who are laughing at you are being really unkind, and i hope they learn better.
a ranger's capture disc is different from a pokeball, because we control the disc remotely using hand motions or, in some cases, a touch screen. with a pokeball, you're aiming once and hoping for the best. but, just like with using a styler, practice makes perfect! it took me a pretty long time to get used to turning my wrist in the exact right way to make the capture disc turn. there are actually practice pokeballs you can purchase that mimic the weight of a regular pokeball but wont break if thrown repeatedly at things or try to capture anything.
you can also look into getting pokeballs that have a wider capture range. they tend to be a little more expensive, but they don't require you to actually land a hit on the pokemon you're trying to catch. you might also talk to a local pokemon expert such as a professor or gym leader! they can often give you some tips on how to improve your aim.
good luck, and i hope throwing pokeballs gets a little easier for you! and if it doesn't, try not to get upset with yourself. i've met some pretty incredible trainers, like champion trainer nemona, who also have trouble with it.
could you do recolors of your pokeball dividers where the lines are black or white?
Here ya go! Technically they're slightly off black and off white so they show up on dark and light mode respectively.
