This new event in IkeVamp JP is pretty crazy. I've never got to play an election event outside of EN's and JP's anniversary election events, so It's also very new to me.
It's a battle of the bands AU, and the groups seem so random lol I was really hoping for cards for the event given how wild some of these combinations are (ie; character and music genre combo), so I'm a bit disappointed there aren't any, but I did kinda guess there wouldn't be.
Here are the groups, listed from the ones I'm least interested in to most:
A bit boring they just gave Mozart what he usually plays, and I can't imagin the outfits are that interesting, basically just exactly what they have their sprites in for the event. The group feels very random, but I think that's fine, It's interesting to see characters that don't commonly interact grouped together. (Plus It's AU)
Why does Jazz kinda feel right for Leonardo? I mean, it's not exactly perfect for him, but it still feels somewhat fitting? I dunno. Feels strange for Dazai and Faust, though lol Leonardo and Dazai being teamed up doesn't feel that strange, but Faust being grouped with them feels like such a curve ball lmao I'd assume their outfits would basically just be what they're wearing in the sprites again.
This group feels the most basic. Napoleon and Isaac are already close in the original canon and Napoleon and Theo have already been teamed up in an event like this (not sure about Theo and Isaac, though). Almost feels boring compared to the other groups, tbh. Classic rock feels like it works for all three decently well, so this is actually probably the least interesting actually lol Mostly curious what kind of outfits they'd wear if they had made cards for this event.
This is the first one I'm really interested in. This group is crazy, and it's metal??? Crazy stuff right here omg. I wanna see death metal Drake. I feel like if they did cards, they could have given Charles his long hair from his past for this, since it's pretty common for guys in metal groups to have long hair. (Or be bald, but that's besides the point) The funniest thing here, though, is in the free digest they said the group is supposed to be in all black, but they didn't have a sprite like that for Drake, so he just looks fully out of place lmao (poor Drake) Feels like they could have made him one of the dressed-down-with-the-undershirt-changed-to-black sprites which is what Arthur and Charles are in, but it is what it is. (Can I please see death metal Drake ๐ฅบ๐๐ปMy metalhead hearts wants)
(Why is my screen translator calling Jean "Jance" wtf ๐) Will in visual kei is a mighty need. I can't imagin it, but I need to see it. Please ๐ฅบ๐๐ป
Can I just rant for a second, though? Why is this group 3/4 the bottom five from this year's JP election??? Will-16th, Galileo-15th, and Jean-either 13th or 14th I forgot. I hate having rely on Vlad's popularity, and I doubt it'll be enough... ๐ญ I had to vote at least once for each group member, and I was still in the top 100 for Galileo and Jean until a few hours ago, and I'm still in the top 200 with just one vote each. (the event started about 14 hours ago) I'm not even placing in Vlad's, so maybe his popularity can hard carry... I don't know if they thought since this is one of the two with four members it would be unfair to have another even decently popular character?? I feel like we're getting either last or second to last place with this line up...
Enough complaining, though. I feel like I can easily imagin Vlad in visual kei style, and I can kinda imagin Jean, but Will and Galileo... I'm having a hard time picturing those two lol It's certainly an... interesting group up to say the least. I still really want to see Will in visual kei. My mind has hyper focused on that. If any fan artist that are still drawing IkeVamp art get inspired by any of these, especially Drake in death metal or Will in visual kei, I would very much like to see them. ๐ Just a suggestion, though.
The chibis aren't scratching the itch... Why are the group members all exactly the same? I feel like there would have still been cohesion between the groups if just the outfits were the same, I feel like their accent colors could have been their character colors... Green for "Lost Eden" is... A choice. The outfit is kinda boring compared to some visual kei looks, but it works. I like their mic stands. I also feel like "Iron Pulse's" outfits aren't even metal... Maybe kinda classic metal? But certainly nowhere near what I was imaging... Star shaped guitars feel like more glam rock then anything. I feel like "Midnight Avenue" should have hats. The other two are fine.
Overall, I'm still excited to read the event stories, but I feel like this should have been the type of event they'd do more with. Specifically had cards for it. These combinations feel to interesting to just have fairly basic looking chibis be showing off their looks. I feel like I complained to much for an event in a free-to-play game, but those are just my thoughts. I'm curious to know what other people think, so, to anyone reading this, lemme know your thoughts. ๐
