This is kik. Kik is an app for phones/tablets/ipods/ahuehueachickennoodle that is a totally free messenger app that—unlike other messenger apps—doesn’t require the input of a phone number!!!

So basically the reason that it’s cool for RPers is that it allows people to have their RP partners “text” them IC (and/or ooc!!) without having to give their number out. All the convenience of texting without the hullabaloo. Frankly, it’s p decent for short threads too if you don’t have access to a computer/are feeling lazy but are itching to flex your muse.

It’s super fantastic. Ever want to do a short interaction with someone but ugh getting on the computer is hard work and wow no who wants to bother using icons right now so lazy but my muse just wants to do things BAM TEXT UR FRIENDS IC it’s super low commitment and easy to do but really fun and great conversations come out of it and you can literally just like do it from bed or like outside or whatever. You just use an email for registration just like tumblr, and pick a username, and put your characters name in and a lil picture of them and bam you’re all set up how easy is that???
