Anyone know which translation of The Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas is best? I saw that Rabassa who translated one hundred years of solitude translated it, are his portuguese translations as good as the spanish ones? Or should I check the newer penguin edition?

Not entirely sure about this, but I have heard people say the newer translation is far better and more faithful to the original, too. From my part, as someone who read the original book (meaning, the one in portuguese) and a few excerpts of the penguin edition one, it does seem more faithful. The fact that the title of that one is also more faithful is making me a little biased, though
