I know lots of people have made breaking bad/macbeth comparisons up the wazoo but my favourite things about Shakespeare is that the characters that die do so because what goes around comes around. They die because Elizabethan society loved the idea of justice. And the same goes for Walt. He died because of his actions, and because of that the audience is satisfied. i say this with a heavy heart, because i’ll always hate him so goddamn much <3 but my generalized anxiety disorder is severe these days and going onto that sideblog gives me heart palpitations, and not in the “funny” or “relatable” way. i’m a 23 year old woman, i’m growing up, and i need healthier coping mechanisms than making frequent posts about hating walter, simply because it’s draining to focus on hating a shitty dude rather than appreciating the characters i LOVE.

walter is alone with his money. unlike previous brba promotional images, he’s not with jesse or family or other cast members --- he’s alone. he’s truly alone, and he’s alone because he made choices that hurt others for his own benefit.

his legs, spread, show that he is vulnerable to the world and others’ words --- perhaps just as much as we are. he feels, and that’s a scary thing to realize about abusers, is that they’re people who are hurt too and that they feel. even fascists. we don’t like to think about fascists having hearts, because having a heart seems like something we have to empathize with------

but we don’t have to empathize with them, because they’re fucking abusers who don’t deserve any kindness if they can’t give it back. and in the end, either an abuser must find peace of mind with who they are and try to be kind even after it, or die alone. and we all know what happened to walter white. guess he got what he deserved

what do you think of walt's relationship with skyler, before the beginning of the series? cause i'm of the mind that, while walt must have loved her (in so much as he's capable of loving someone), i don't think it was a coincidence that he went for someone who was ten years younger than him, and didn't have a "glamorous" job and wasn't as intelligent as he was. walter couldn't bear gretchen being wealthier and just as smart as he was, after all, so he chose "inferior" skyler to sooth his own ego

i never got to answering this before but it’s DEFINITELY suspicious and predatory that he deliberately went for someone who’s much younger than him. that’s not to say healthy relationships cant exist with 10+ year age gaps in older people, BUT given walter’s abusive tendencies i definitely think he went for that power imbalance. little does he know, skylar is actually the genius and it is HE who is a big dumb dumb goofy shitball
