Hi! I was basically just thinking about the scene of Lottie and her parents, and how Lottie is seen as “messed up” and ill, and how she’s being put on all these medications and going through electroshock therapy (hence, the purity being forced on her).

Laura Lee is a more natural approach to Lottie’s wellness. I think she kick starts Lottie’s deep spirituality. Although it can be argued that Laura Lee’s faith was flawed, I think she gave Lottie a spirituality that she needed.
