The children would definitely play volleyball, but eventually it would be just Kurt and Peter because Peter is just too fast and Kurt can teleport.
Charles and Erik are under an umbrella together, both reading. Erik uses his powers to levitate their drinks to them from the cooler :D They do go for a swim together at times, Erik making sure Charles is safe at all times. Charles either has the special wheelchair for the beach or Erik levitates his standard one.
Logan spends most of the time in the water because it's so damn hot.
Jean and Ororo spend their time enjoying the sun a lot. Scott often arrives and splashes Jean with water (she doesnt mind)

There was a cracking sound, like the snapping of a wishbone — once, twice, a third time. And a flash, a ringing, a sharpness — then an animal scream, torn from the back of a throat. Like the hand of God.
That was what Erik thought during the attacks on Genosha, in his final moments of consciousness buried in the rubble, and that is what he thought again, here, now: Like the hand of God.

Erik Lehnsherr had spent the last few months of his life living like prey. He had lived in a dozen hotel rooms in a dozen countries, never staying in one place for any longer than a week. Inside his suitcase was a rubber-band-bound stack of counterfeit passports, each with a different name and a different photograph.
At the moment, he was Louis Boulanger, a French tourist. Yesterday, he was Veild Larsen. Tomorrow, he would be someone else completely.
The alleged Mr. Boulanger sat at the small breakfast table in his hotel room. In another life, as another man, he would have rather liked Moscow. He hadn’t left his room since he had arrived, but had spent most of his time by the window, watching the snow. It was snowing then, and despite being well into the morning, the sun had yet to rise.
He sat alone in the dark and sipped his coffee — black with far too much sugar — and watched the city below.
Once, when he was a child, his father took him to watch a fox hunt. He couldn’t have been any more than seven years old. It had horrified him: the smell of the dog’s breath, the flashing of their white teeth, the barking loud like the voice of god — and the fox. The poor fox, with its pinned ears and its wide eyes, running and running and running.
He could still remember the sound the fox made when the dogs finally caught it: a scream like a child’s scream. He thought of it often. It was the very first thing he had ever watched die. The men had whooped and celebrated as he stood trembling, hiding his face in his father’s sleeve. It was only a sport to them.
It was only a sport to them now, too. The prey was different, but the game was the same. It had been two months since the attack on Genosha. They had killed his people. Erik had not slept in three days on account of his nightmares. Men used to tremble when they heard his name, but now his voice was hoarse from smoke damage, and he had developed a limp, and the burn wounds on his chest made him weep at night. He had lost.
Magneto would have rallied the survivors. Magneto would have brought the human race to its knees. Magneto would have rebuilt again, as he always did.
But Magneto was dead. Erik Lehnsherr survived. And he was so, so tired.

Remember, in X2, how Charles goes to visit Erik in the plastic prison? This might just be me but when Erik admits he told stuff to Stryker, he looks genuinely remorseful even if it wasn't his fault. Maybe he thought Charles would take it personally, given their past (beach scene).
Erik felt remorseful because he would never let that information slip if he could. He and Charles might always have some disagreements between them, but Erik would never want to put the mutants, especially children, at a risk like that.
I also do think that Erik holds himself more accountable for what happened on the beach than Charles ever did.

I don't know if this has been brought up before, but it just occurred to me that it must be really interesting for telepaths because people have different levels of being able to picture things in their mind and some people don't have an interior voice.
I feel like Charles must be able to picture things pretty easily (the deleted scene from First Class with Angel and Erik implies it a bit) but it's interesting to consider for other telepaths the difficulties they might face because of a difference in minds.
This is such an interesting thought and idea anon!!
I think telepaths might all have kind of more imaginative/creative minds than others, that theyre just destined to be able to picture things more easily or more in detail!
But this is such a good take too, like imagine a telepath struggling due to not being able to imagine things!
On the other hand, it has to be interesting for the telepaths to get into the head of someone who doesn't have any images in their head nor an inner monologue !
Do you think pietro, Wanda, Lorna etc go absolutely insane for Father’s Day? Like they’ll meet up with Charles and be like “hey, it’s Father’s Day, let’s prank your husband” 😭
I imagine they do actually do nice stuff but like Erik WILL wake up to them screaming and hitting pots and pans because they like messing with him😭

Erik and Charles in comics canon, part 2 – This is taking longer than expected. Looking at the folder of panels I’ve gathered, it looks like it might be four posts, but that’s a conservative estimate.
Erik and Charles in comics canon, part 3 – Brace yourselves, everybody, this is the part where it gets unpleasant. Magneto’s return to villainy through the 90s and early 00s led to some of the most iconic (and controversial) Magneto storylines. I feel like the government would care so little about mutant rights that they wouldn't care if 2 same sex mutants got married (although there may be a ban on mutant-human marriage). But assuming mutants and humans had equal progress of rights, how do you think Charles and Erik would feel about it?
I think the older version and the younger version would vary a little.
For younger versions, I feel like Charles would be really glad for at least some progress! He'd be optimistic about it. Erik would feel like no one can command who he can marry and cannot. He doesn't need human government to make their love valid
Older Charles would be kinda similar I think, he would still appreciate the fact that they CAN marry now. Legally. Erik would still have a similar mindset but he'd definitely fill out all the paperwork and be glad for it o.o
These are not really top but I don't wanna get too repetitive, PLUS I like all hcs!!! :3

– After Charles can walk during the Krakoa era, he learns how to dance and dances with Erik
– Erik always wakes up first and wakes up his love with tea and kisses
– They read to each other out loud when the other feels sick or under the weather
– Charles is completely independent, but he does sometimes let Erik push his chair with his powers or with his hands
– Erik often plays with his powers (levitating utensils when he cooks, etc) because he likes doing it, but also because Charles always looks so happy and interested when he does it
– When Charles has an exhausting day, Erik helps him by doing little things—a cup of tea appears on Charles' table, the pen that fell off the table levitates itself back onto the table and the windows open when the air gets too stiff
– When Charles gets a bit too invested in a book, he projects his excitement all around the place
– Erik is the one to keep their chess sets clean and polished
– Whenever Erik is napping and his dreams turn into nightmares, Charles just gives a little nudge to make them good dreams again
– When Charles has a melody stuck in his head, he sometimes projects it to Erik just so they could figure the name of the song out together
– Charles teases Erik with very vivid images in his mind at some point during a meeting or an event, Erik starts thinking very loudly about very... intimate scenarios >:)
– Erik makes sure a chocolate bar is always close to Charles, the sugar helps with telepathic exhaustion
– Erik draws very well. He draws Charles a lot.
– Erik sometimes makes little adjustments on the metal of the furniture and Charles' chair just so Charles can be fully comfortable
– Charles can't even handle the thought of losing Erik. Just the imagination of him feeling Erik's mind fade with death makes him sick. Erik can't handle the thought of not feeling Charles in his mind ever again.
Dunno about you but I love fics where the author sneaks in that Emma and Charles ran in the same Old Money circles growing up so they may not be besties but they do have a sort of frenemies thing going on.
