Trying to find an old tumblr post I used to see a lot.
It started with someone listing "places with uncanny energy," like gas stations on a road trip, empty movie theaters, etc.
Then someone reblogged it and said those are called "liminal spaces," defining liminal as in-between, neither one thing nor another.
It was the first time I'd seen the term "liminal" applied to places like that, and it's driving me crazy, I want to find and put a date on it so bad.

It sounds like you're in a great bubble and you curate your social media experience better than me, lol.
Sometimes I see people talk about how they love weird, freaky and inhuman characters (either from a monsterfucker perspective or a platonic appreciation of monsters) but all their examples of "cool/sexy designs" have an 8-pack. Some are willing to add genuinely freaky and monstrous features, some aren't, but either way the design has the same base with the same conventionally attractive body type and facial features.
And I'm like "you think you want to fuck a monster? You don't even want to fuck someone with cellulite."
Sometimes I see people (including self-proclaimed monsterfuckers) talking about monster design, and think "if you saw a fat person confident in their sexuality, you'd shrivel and turn to dust."

Coffee Shop AUs are OUT, The Bear AUs are IN.
The ensemble cast is working in a sandwich shop. Everyone is stressed and yelling, there's never enough money or beef. Half your OTP is a line cook who's been working there for years, the other half is the new owner who was forced to take over the business when their brother committed suicide.

I'm not sure who Martin is in this universe, I don't think he has a character to easily map onto. I guess Marcus has some similar Sick Mom Stuff but he's also got the opposite situation where his relationship with his mom is great, he's just sad she's dying.
So instead he's just Martin but do a find/replace of "library" for "italian beef sandwiches" or something.
Also Marcus would never apologize to you if you poured soup in his lap.
He wouldn't yell, he'd just get quietly angry and leave. Then later he'd name a doughnut "the time you poured soup in my lap like a little bitch."
...Which actually DOES sound like Martin behavior come to think of it.
