i can think of memories of activities of places and people that i used to know. i can cherish those memories. cherish the time i spent with those people. i can even miss them.

but, i can also miss something and not want it back.

wouldn’t change the time i had them. but, don’t want it back now. i have left the people who did not bring me joy, who did not grow me as a person, who didn’t support my choices, who were not happy for my happiness.

i am too old to hold onto people who aren’t worth holding onto. the longevity of a friendship doesn’t mean it’s a good one. i have ended ten year friendships with people who were once my best friends but our relationships turned toxic, mean spirited, selfish, they didn’t care about my mental well being and constantly disrespected my boundaries. i drew my lines, and they were crossed over and over again.
