repeat after me: I don’t have to apologize for everything. Not everything is my fault. I am allowed to express myself without apologizing.
a non-cutesy self care guide, for when you need to bounce back after being really dysfunctional
Body
Wash your hands with warm water and soap.Â
Trim, file, and buff your nails and toenails.Â
Trim any hangnails.Â
Push back your cuticles.
Put hand cream or moisturizer on your hands and/or feet.
If you have any rough skin, buff it off with a pumice stone.Â
If it’s your style, give yourself a manicure and/or pedicure.Â
Roll out your ankles, flex and point your feet a couple of times.Â
Stretch your calves, hamstrings, quads, shoulders, triceps, upper back, lower back, chest, or any other part that feels tight.Â
Roll your neck in circles in both directions.Â
Shake out your hands and roll your wrists.Â
If you want to, shave anywhere you want to shave.Â
If you have any sore muscles, massage them with your hands or a foam roller.Â
Go through your normal facial care routine. Splash water on your face, put on moisturizer, use a facial cleanser, or put on a nice mask.Â
Take a warm bath or shower. Warm, not scalding hot.Â
Take a cutesy, Instagram-worthy bath with a bath bomb, or use this guide for what to put in your bath.
Wash your hair. Shampoo and condition if you want.Â
Dry yourself off gently with a soft towel.
Put on clothes that make you feel confident.Â
Eat something, preferably healthy.
Drink a huge glass of water.Â
Use the restroom, if you’ve been holding it for a long time.Â
Use a warm washcloth and wipe off the crusty bits around your eyes and nose.
Blow your nose.Â
Take any medications or vitamins if you need to do so.
Have a warm drink. Avoid caffeinated drinks if they make you jumpy.
Comb or brush your hair, then style it in a way that makes you feel most confident.Â
If you have open cuts, put on bandages; if you have mosquito bites, apply anti-itch cream; etc.
Surroundings
Delete unnecessary photos and apps from your phone.
Close all apps running in the background of your phone.
Close all of the tabs open on your computer.
Delete unnecessary files from your computer.
Organize your files.
Check emails, and clean up your inbox.Â
Clear every notification on your phone.
Take everything off your desk and wipe it down.Â
Put all papers where they need to go.Â
Put all books on your shelf.
Reorganize your shelf by author, series, rainbow colors, or whatever else you prefer.Â
Untangle all of your cables.
Make your bed.
Change your sheets, pillowcase, and duvet cover.
Put all scattered clothes in a laundry bin.
Do that laundry.Â
Turn off all the lights if it’s daytime, or turn them all on if it’s nighttime.
Put all of the random junk that doesn’t have a place into a box, and hide the box under your bed.Â
Hang clean clothes in your closet, or fold them and put into drawers.Â
Open your blinds and curtains.Â
Straighten everything that is hanging on your walls, unless everything is slanted in a certain way for your ~aesthetic~
Vacuum the floor.
Clean your phone screen, laptop screen, keyboard, etc.Â
Put all of your pens in jars.Â
Mind
Take any medication you need.Â
Dump all your thoughts in a journal.Â
Make an appointment with a therapist/psychologist/psychiatrist/etc.
Tbh, beyond this I don’t know about each person’s circumstances. You can check out my mental health resource tag and find something to help you.

Nobody likes me, i think also my sister doesn't like me. She always gets mad at me or is mean to me. She looks so happy when she knows that i'm not gonna be at home for the day and feels like she doesn't want to have me around. I'm actually older than her and always treated her good and showed her affection, but now she doesn't like me at all. I heard her talk to her friends about me one day and she called me a freak and said bad things about me that weren't even true. Her friends were giving her advices on which evil pranks she could do on me. I felt so bad for a week because of this, of course i haven't talked to her about it 'cause she would start screaming at me for eavesdropping or telling it's not true and my parents would take her side. I feel completely alone, i already have difficulties finding friends without bad rumors about me spreading. I don't even know how to act around her friends when i meet them because i don't know what other things they heard about me and i'm embarassed...
There is no distraction to mask what is real.

Yesterday at work a customer pushed me and i fell on the floor, my arm still hurts a bit. I'm skinny and small so if someone pushes me too violently they send me flying. I don't think he meant to hurt me but he was maybe stressed or annoyed because the place was overcrowded and he decided to pass by pushing me away. He helped me up afterwards. The items i was holding also fell down but luckly nothing breakable so it's ok but wish ppl would be more aware of what's around them and try be nice to others
I am 18 and still living with my parents because I am disabled. They said if I get 1000 notes, they will allow me to get a hamster. Please help me achieve this adorable dream.

Nothing ever ends poetically. It ends and we turn it into poetry. All that blood was never once beautiful. It was just red.

existential-words (via existential-words)
It happened again, they are all so cold to me and it's like they are mad at me or think i am disgusting but i don't know what i did wrong and i hope they would tell me, but maybe i just annoy them. I thought it was because i am new and they all are already friends with each others in class, so i wasn't able to integrate. But even if i meet with them when they are alone and not in group they, treat me coldly, like if they were unconfortable and annoyed at being near me. Some days ago it was my birthday and thry didn't wish me happy birthday and i thought it was because they didn't know but it turned out they knew and just didn't care. I wish i had somebody to support me but there's noone in class who wants to be friend and if i say something like this to my family they just assune it's my fault and that i'm not trying enough. During lesson it's kinda ok because i'm always alone anyway but when there are group works nobody wants to pair with me. I had to do projects alone many times when there were groups of 3 people, but i'm used to it so it's ok. Thing is that i go to lesson feeling positive and hoping it'll go well this time but every time the others look at me so coldly and are so detached that i wonder if i offend them in some way and i don't know. This makes me sad and i feel out of place
depression tipsâ„¢
shower. not a bath, a shower. use water as hot or cold as u like. u dont even need to wash. just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. sit on the floor if you gotta.
moisturize everything. use whatever lotion u like. unscented? dollar store lotion? fancy ass 48 hour lotion that makes u smell like a field of wildflowers? use whatever you want, and use it all over.Â
put on clean, comfortable clothes.Â
put on ur favorite underwear. cute black lacy panties? those ridiculous boxers u bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? put em on.
drink cold water. use ice. if u want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost.
clean something. doesn’t have to be anything big. organize one drawer of ur desk. wash five dirty dishes. do a load of laundry. scrub the bathroom sink.Â
blast music. listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.
make food. don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. take the time and make food. even if it’s ramen. add something special to it, like a hard boiled egg or some veggies. prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something.Â
make something. write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. even if you don’t think you’re good at it.
go outside. take a walk. sit in the grass. look at the clouds. smell flowers. put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.
call someone. call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. talk to a stranger on the street. have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. if you can’t, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. even if you don’t say much, listen to them.
cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them. take pictures of them. talk to them. tell them how u feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out.
