Wing Song Prayers

❋ * 𝐍𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐎𝐄𝐓𝐑𝐘 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓𝐒 * ❋ what a mercy—to fade, and still be full of light.

1. the frost remembers what the harvest forgot 2. I never wanted forever, just another night beside you  3. I still see your reflection in every window before dawn 4. the season of almost-healing 5. november made a poet of my grief 6. you were the warmth 7. what a tender cruelty—to bloom so briefly 8. everything golden turns to gray eventually 9. my heart, an unlit hearth 10. I still dream of us in flannel and first snow 11. and still, I’d choose the cold if it meant your hand in mine 12. somewhere between candlelight and regret, I find you 13. I never learned how to let go gently 14. between the last leaf and the first snow, we met again 15: the last pumpkin on the porch, caving softly inward 16. I’m halfway home and halfway gone 17. grief comes with its headlights off 18. there’s forgiveness in the fog if you stay long enough 19. the map folded strangely and led me back to you 20. I am not lost; I am returning differently 21. what a mercy, to still feel everything 22. I thought I’d outgrow this ache, but it grew with me 23. I’m a minute from home, and farther than ever 24. new ink, old wounds, same heart 25. forever never scared me—only the after did 26. love, like ink, bleeds through every page 27. I wanted peace, you wanted poetry 28. I want to be known past my metaphors 29. I fell in love again—this time with peace 30. I’ll meet December with ungloved hands and an open heart
