xbjsbwjwkwd It would be kinda funny if he went for someone that’s the complete opposite of the types of women he usually attracts… Someone that’s a messy and a little inept and pathetic in an endearing way. A regular ass, socially awkward person trying to make it through the day.

I don’t necessarily think that Mina is against good looking, competent, or high status women. It’s that he doesn’t trust the intentions of those kinds of women that aggressively approaching him. They’re looking for something to gain out of the relationship, putting on airs to get in his good graces. It’s not genuine, it’s forced and manufactured. That’s not the type of love he’s after.

Mina strikes me as someone who wants to be loved for what he is, stripped bare of the things that make others salivate over him. Take away the money, the brains, the status, the looks, the magic, etc. Look at what is inside, and then choose to accept him as he is, even if he didn’t have a single madol/thaumark or a shred of power to his name. I think that’s what makes Mina so effortless to ship with a Yuu, despite his recency and lack of content in the Twst canon.

Yuu, as a blank slate, is pitched as a practical and down-to-earth everyman, someone able to see value in the things that their peers cannot. For example, they are the only NRC student to realize the value in the Radiant Seven and what they stand for. If anyone can look past Mina’s exterior and to his heart, it’s them. Not only that, but Yuu lives such a humble life in Ramshackle and is pretty ordinary by any accounts (a non-mage, humble, etc.). They have nothing to prove, no desire to hunt down a rich and powerful husband. They’re content just chilling with their besties and being goofy with them. That’s relatable—and, to Mina, someone worth falling in love with. And because “Yuu” can be anyone, so many different permutations of them can exist and work well in this context ^^

I like to imagine that Mina confesses to his RSA buddies that he has a crush on someone and they all get SO hyped that the cool, mature Mina-chan had feelings for someone. Neige and Rielle for sure hold sleepover meetings to gossip and to help Mina develop a plan of attack (ie asking them out)!!! B-But now Mina’s too embarrassed to tell then more…

•Idia is not physically affectionate at first. Not because he doesn’t want to be, but because every touch feels like a system error his brain hasn’t prepared for.

•The first time you casually grab his hand while walking through campus, he freezes so hard you think he disconnected from reality.

•“Abort mission! High-intensity physical contact detected in public! Initiating immediate emergency shutdown!”

•His hair flares brighter as he tries to pull his hood lower over his face while still not letting go of your hand.

•He complains constantly about PDA. Especially around certain dorms.

•“Please do not hold my hand in front of Octavinelle. Azul will literally blackmail me for years.”

•You do it anyway once just to watch him malfunction. He spends the next ten minutes muttering about “social damage over time effects.”

•His personal space is sacred… until it’s you. He’ll grumble when you stand too close, shoulders tense and eyes darting away.

•“W-Why are you standing so close?! My personal-space boundary is a strict two-meter radius!”

•And then, ten minutes later, he’ll unconsciously scoot his chair closer to yours while talking about a game update.

•He becomes weirdly possessive of your attention during games. If you praise another player too much, he’ll narrow his eyes at the screen.

•“Tch. Their DPS rotation isn’t even optimized. You’re being scammed by flashy effects.”

•Five minutes later he’s trying twice as hard to impress you.

•He’s protective in quiet ways. If someone is rude to you online, the “Hades Side” comes out immediately. His voice goes flat, calm, and terrifyingly sharp.

•“Do you want me to embarrass you publicly, or are you going to leave before I start using your own stats against you?”

•The person usually leaves. He’ll then glance at you and try to act casual.

•“…Anyway. Problem solved. Don’t make a big deal out of it.”

•He loves using gamer metaphors for feelings because actual feelings are terrifying.

•“You are a high-level debuff to my anxiety. Please stay equipped to my party forever.”

•“A-Affection stats are maxed out… system overload imminent… please nerf yourself immediately.”

•He says these while refusing to make eye contact.

•Hugs are his biggest weakness. The first time you hug him from behind while he’s gaming, he nearly drops the controller.

•He says this while pulling the blanket higher around both of you.

•When he’s exhausted, he gets unexpectedly honest. Around 3 a.m., with his head resting against yours and his voice gone quiet, he’ll mumble things he’d never say during the day.

•“…You know, before you showed up, I was pretty committed to the whole ‘isolated dungeon boss’ lifestyle.”

•“…Now I kinda want you here all the time. Which is honestly embarrassing, so don’t quote me on that.”

•His version of “I love you” is rarely direct. It’s fixing your broken devices before you ask. It’s saving a seat beside him. It’s sending you memes at 2 a.m. because “this reminded me of you, unfortunately.”

•But every once in a while, when he’s tired enough to stop guarding himself, he’ll look at you with that soft, surprised expression he gets when he forgets to hide how much he cares and say:

A/n: thanks for waiting anon!!! Oeugh I took too long for this one sry but my exams are finally over :>

“Henchhuman hurry up!! The hotdog stand will be packed with people if we were late!”

Grim was tugging onto your pant leg, leading you all the way to the long queue by the food stand.

It was the annual tournament between NRC and RSA, the entire student body were excited about it. Of course, you were a part of it as well, not as a participant as you have no magic to speak of, but as a student helper.

Why? Because Crowley promised you extra funds if you helped out.

You let Grim lead you through the busy road, a hand rubbing your temple. You did quite a lot today, helping the participants double checking their uniforms and helping them get prepared for the competition, even working as the student photographer capturing this year’s competition.

“Grim, slow down a bit, I’m sure they have enough food…”

Fatigue was starting to get to you, but you just couldn’t say no to your cat son.

What you didn’t know is that a certain someone was watching you both, leaning against the pillar without making his presence known.

Minajael watched as Grim skipped to the food stand happily, watching in the queue with you.

A smirk decorated his lips, he remembered you, you’re the prefect who was helping the NRC competitors just now.

He wanted to know you better, yes, but even he knows that the relationship between NRC students and ones in RSA isn’t the best. He was almost sure that Grim would jump him if he made a move on you.

Just as his brows furrowed in thoughts Rielle came over and dragged him away.

Minajael’s gaze landed on you once more, there was a strong connection that he felt, the look in his eyes were almost like longing, it would’ve been stuck in your head if you noticed him.

“Myahhh, they ran out of food already..”

Grim walked with his head down, pouting. Just as you two finally got in front of the queue, all the snacks and hotdogs have been sold. If you two were alone Grim would’ve let out a battle cry level of a yell.

The beast was hungry, and you were low on sugar. The constant work today have not allowed you to take a snack break or anything, to make things worse you haven’t eaten breakfast.

*sniff sniff*

Your attention shifts back to Grim as he sniffed the air, face lightening up in delight.

“I smell something delicious!!”

With that he takes off running, cue you running after him as best as you could.

After rounding a corner, you saw a beautiful man in a silk costume of the finest quality. You felt a sense of familiarity, remembering that he’s the third year at RSA, you saw him just now at the first game.

Meanwhile Grim only looked at the food in his hands. Minajael was holding a hotdog in his hands, a smug grin on his lips, “want it?”

Minajael invited you two to a nearby bench, Grim sitting between you two as he snacks on the hotdog, which was cut into half for the both of you to enjoy.

The prince observes you, starting a conversation

“So, you’re the prefect they talk about?” His hand rested on the back of the bench, fingers tapping on the wood.

You nodded, taking a bite of your portion of the hotdog.

You briefly told him about how you ended up here and your headmage who is (supposedly) trying to find a way for you to return home, it’s not about NRC and the tournament, so you didn’t feel the need to hide things from him.

As he listened intently, his gaze was on you. You know that look, it’s like when Jamil was observing you and trying to gauge your thoughts.

But Minajael didn’t guess, he knows what you’re thinking.

“You miss home, don’t you?”

Your hands stilled, it wasn’t often that your homesickness was being brought up.

“A bit.. but hey, I got a lot of friends here, so I’m not completely devastated.”

Minajael responded with a hum, as he watched you finish the hotdog.

“May I know your name? Calling you ‘prefect’ would be too formal,” he gave you a smile, “call me Minajael, no need for titles.”

You told him your name, thinking that he’s just being friendly, what you didn’t know is that he’s fascinated.

You’re trapped in a world that you didn’t want to be in at first, but you’re enjoying it and seeing things so positively, he’s more than intrigued. And he wants to know more about you

You two took a walk together before he escorted you back to the NRC zone at the stadium. Before he left, he requested something.

“May I have your phone? I promise I won’t do anything suspicious.” His charming smile makes it impossible to refuse.

With a few clicks, he added his number to your contact, not his MagiCam, but his personal number.

“Call me if you want to, noor eini,” he gently took your hand, a soft kiss landed on your knuckles.

As he returned back to the RSA zone, he overheard people talking about the next game of the tournament, but all he could think of was you.

Nobody knows what the prince was thinking, but legends say he tossed and turned on his bed that night, mind filled with that one person whom he’s dying to know more about.

Minajael rubbed a hand over his face, it was unlikely for him to get so interested in someone, safe to say it never happened before.
