YamAZk AU is, as the name implies, my self indulgent AU where sometime after Z-A, AZ returns to the living as a ghost (specifically, a yamask).

I had been hoping that Z-A would give AZ a storyline about accepting that he cannot change the past and learning to move on rather than allowing himself to continue to be constrained by it. I really wanted to see what kind of person he could become when he's free from his grief and pain, and to accept his own desire for companionship. Since this did not happen (🙂) I'm taking matters into my own hands 🫶🏾 overall, it's meant to embody hope for what the future can being and love that can endure anything.

It overlaps with my King-Brothers AU (and general pkmn OCverse), which is an AU where AZ's younger brother, Xanthos, also becomes immortal and focuses on them slowly but surely mending their sibling relationship. This is because AZ and Xan are together Always ☝🏾
