Welcome to Identifying Sharks in Posts!
This blog is dedicated to identifying sharks in posts where they are otherwise unidentified! There is only one mod, @clown-around-and-find-out (she/her). I am autistic and my special interest has been sharks for about eight years now. I have so much love and respect for these animals! I love all species of sharks, but by far my favorite is the Atlantic nurse shark.
Submissions are more than welcome, however if the shark is already identified in the post or in the tags by OP, it will be disregarded.
If there is ever any incorrect information or identification, please address it in a respectful manner and let me know! I am human too and even though sharks are my special interest I am not always 100% accurate (but I will always try to be).
If I ever break somebody's DNI or interact with somebody genuinely problematic, please let me know through inbox or DM's.
My tagging system is fairly simple. All identification posts will be tagged with "#identifying sharks in posts", "#shark" and "#sharks". Every shark identified in the post will also get its own tag (for example, a post with a porbeagle shark would have the general tags along with "#porbeagle shark").
As this account is simply here to identify sharks, I do not really have any sort of DNI (besides the obvious of no bigots, terfs, pedos, zionists, really just the things labeled as "basic dni criteria"). I am not here to get into discourse with people, so if you're a bigot or just a bad person then move on. However, I will say if you hate on sharks or support shark finning and interact with this blog, you will be blocked (no exceptions). If you are afraid of sharks or don't like them, that is not my problem, block and move on or just don't interact.
If I reblog one of your posts and you want it taken down, please contact me through DMs or through my inbox.
Lastly, anything related to sharks that I may post/reblog that ISN'T an identification post will be tagged as "#not identifying sharks in posts".
