fuck man once again i'm being hit with the cold water that you have to be careful looking up to the artists who inspire you.

i'm an amateur aspiring writer, and i fucking loved neil gaiman, especially the ocean at the end of the lane. it was inspiring

it feels like all of that inspiration is tainted now, though. i let myself get too wrapped up in liking the artist as a person and it tangled me up when i learned that he's a fucking monster.

try not to let your inspiration get too wrapped up in individuals. internalize it, change it, make it your own. so it can survive any amount of disappointment.
