A week passed, and an orderly that worked there helping the man in charge of the facility had his eyes on Will, watching him every second of the day, until one day, he approached, with a wicked smile on his face.

“Mister… Gramercy,” he crooned, uncuffing him to let him inside the visitation cage. “Been waiting for you, for a time that we could talk.”

“Talk?” Will asking, rubbing his wrists. “They can hear us.”

“Not at the moment. I wired everything here.”

Will assessed the man in front of him, something familiar about him. “What do you want? How do you know that name?”

“I knew you before, little bird. In that other life.”

“Tell me everything.”

“I can’t. It’s against the rules,” the orderly said leaning in closer. “But you are powerful. More so than you think. If anyone can get out and defeat this, it’s you. I’m just a… hawk flying over head, Mister Gramercy, making sure you don’t get fed to the vultures too soon.”

“What’s that mean?” Will asked, watching the bright eyes of the odd man in front of him.

“Whatever you want it to mean. I’m Matthew, a beast from the hell-world.”

Years passed, Hannibal and Will were married in a quaint little ceremony, and lived in Spain for a long time thereafter. Thought of Neverland soon dissipated as they both grew older and wearier, but never more in love than they were in every moment together. They procured a few dogs, that slept with them, on their large bed, much to Hannibal’s chagrin. They had a peaceful, happy life, for the most part.

Hannibal held practice in Spain while teaching Will to cook and paint, the finer things in life. A calm and rather pretentious living, but each happy in their work. Soon, Neverland was never mentioned at all.

At the age of nearly thirty, Will had grown into himself, no sign of those pixie like ears, or the sharper fangs he had once at a boy, but rather an elegant young man. Hannibal was pleased with how his husband had grown into his own, not just in appearance but in cunning, and wit. The dogs weren’t his favorite aspect but for Will, a worthy sacrifice. After supper, he poured them each a drink, and sat down with his beauty on the patio, the stars shining down above them.

“Perhaps a hunt is in order again soon, hm?”

“Anyone in mind?” Will asked, lounging his designated chair, feet up, and whiskey in hand, his favorite now.

“The young man who thought it fitting to blatantly flirt with you earlier today at the market,” Hannibal suggested, already having a nice recipe in mind. As he said so, he thought he saw something glowing near the bushes. A firefly no doubt, or some sort of insect.

Weeks into his training, Will wasn’t getting any better, he sweat through the sheets most nights, was up late, couldn’t sleep, and when he did, the dreams would start in, vivid and unreal. One night he was up at four in the morning, wiping sweat from his face with a towel, changing out of sweaty undershirt and boxers and into his running clothes. Maybe he could sweat it out, whatever this was.

Hannibal woke up and looked over at Will, concern on his sleepy face. He was more and more suspicious that this wasn't his becoming but something else. “I'm becoming worried, William…”

Will looked over as he pulled on his runners, seeing only Hannibal’s demon face until he blinked, and then it was gone. “It’s… stress.”

Hannibal wasn't convinced; the scent of sickness was invading his senses. Ticking his head to the side, he wet his lips. “Perhaps, or it might be something else. I would like to take you to a doctor. While I am one, there are somethings I do not have at my disposal.”

“Can it wait until after breakfast?” Will asked, brows raised toward Hannibal, sweat dripping down his back. His body was fatigued, and he hadn’t even done anything.

“Yes, of course,” Hannibal nodded, looking at the time as he stood up and slipped on his pajama pants for now. “I will run you a cool bath, you're fevered and it will bring it down while I prepare breakfast.”

“I was gonna take a run…” Will said as he canted his head at Hannibal.

“No,” Hannibal said, gently and walked over to touch Will’s brow. “Please, that is not at all advisable. It will only worsen your fever.”

“Or break it,” Will insisted, but moved his face into Hannibal’s touch, much cooler than his own skin.

“Possibly,” Hannibal said with a sigh, very concerned indeed. He placed his other cool hand on his boy's flushed face and caressed gently. “Let’s try my way first hm?”

“Hannibal?” Will called, walking into the doctor’s luxurious office, he hadn’t knocked, he didn’t think he needed to at this hour.

Hannibal looked up from the notes he'd been writing on his last patient and met Will’s eyes. He stood and walked over. “Yes, Will. Is everything alright?”

“Yeah. I got in to the training program for the FBI,” the boy said, showing Hannibal the paper. “I start monday.”

Taking the paper, Hannibal looked it over and then leaned down to kiss Will’s lips. “Congratulations are in order then,” he smiled and handed it back. “We must celebrate tonight.”

“And do what?” Will asked, arms around Hannibal’s shoulders, clutching his paper tightly.

“Anything you wish,” Hannibal crooned, hooking his arms around Will’s waist. If he had his memories back, if they both did, the demon might suggest a hunt but given the new career choice, he decided to let his boy choose. “The night is yours.”

“Let’s go out to dinner? Some drinks, maybe some… dancing?” Will hadn’t danced, but he wanted to, Hannibal looked like he enjoyed it.

“An excellent idea,” Hannibal grinned, picking Will up just enough to pepper his face with kisses. “It has been quite some time since I've been out for a proper night on the town.”

“A first for us both then,” Will said, having never done anything like this, but he yearned to make Hannibal happy in every sense he could.

“Yes,” Hannibal answered, love gleaming in his amber eyes as he lavished affection on his beautiful, powerful boy. “Dinner first, then dancing. Shall we go, my love?”

“Yes. I’m starved,” Will said, taking Hannibal’s arm, paper stuffed into his coat pocket.

“As am I,” Hannibal said, twitching his lips into a charming smile as he lead them out and down to the car.

The silence only lasted so long.

"You are making your own nightmares.”

"I don’t have any.”

"You’re not immune to them.”

“Are you going to make me have nightmares?”

“It’s inconsequential and not for you to know. There are radical therapies here. You will come to understand that.”

Will thrashed against the arms that held and bound him, kicking, screaming, trapped inside his own head. Piercing hot pain flooded his veins. A fog settled over his mind, muddling his thoughts and slowing his reactions. It wasn’t the first time, the drugs coursed through him, filling him dread as his mind went blank, and his body rigid. A whine escaped his lips as he shook…

Hannibal woke at once when he heard the whine and felt the shaking. He rolled over and pulled him to his chest, rubbing his back while scenting him. “Will, wake up Mylimasis. I'm right here. You are safe.”

The boy thrashed and shook a moment longer and then stilled, like a gentle quake coming to pass, and curled into Hannibal’s warmth. Quiet for a bit longer, his eyes finally fluttered open, long lashes and big blue eyes lazily gazing at the doctor. These episodes were not so unusual.

“Hannibal…”

Summary: Nigel’s all but left for dead and to clean himself up, but the sounds of someone’s violin playing keep him grasping to life and healing up just fine. So much so, Nigel goes next door to find out who saved inadvertently his life.

The next day, after setting Adam up with work to do from home, Nigel moved his pots and pans and rest of his food over and then his clothes, and personal effects. It wasn’t a lot. He put everything where it belonged and kept his clothes in Adam’s father’s room, as not to get in Adam’s way.

Adam had added Nigel to the chore chart, dividing it up evenly, and even printed a copy of his daily and weekly routine to put on the fridge. He felt good about everything so far. After finishing up the work for the club, he walked over to his beau. “I like working from home, but I think once a week, I’ll need to go to the club to verify that the lighting and sound are still working as they should. D-Do you need any help?” He had to remember to ask people that, since he often forgot.

“I got it, darling.” Nigel smiled over at Adam, putting dishes away from the dishwasher. “Thank you. I agree, once a week, at the most, if that’s what works for you.”

“Yes, I think that’s the best arrangement.” Adam went to the closet in the kitchen and pulled out a broom and dustpan, so he could sweep while Nigel tended to his things. “Oh and you’re welcome.”

They cleaned up and Nigel smiled to himself how it all felt very domestic. “I put my place up for sale.”

“That’s good. The market is doing well at the moment,” Adam stated, putting away the broom and then he marked off the chores with a dry erase marker. He felt very comfortable and happy.

“I’m not worried about it, I have you, the club. It’s just more money.” Nigel had a lot more than he let on to, but he didn’t flaunt it around.

Adam cocked his head curiously at the comment. Why wouldn’t Nigel worry about how much his home sold for? “I can help with it if you need me too. Money is always important. I have savings but not nearly enough.”

Will reported everything he knew to the chief, who sent some men to check in on Lecter, only to report back to Will that no one lived at that address. They put him on mental leave, much to Will’s dismay. Determined that he wasn’t wrong, however, he drove by the house the next day, but sure enough the entire thing was empty. Had he dreamed the whole thing? Envisioned it?

Get it together, Graham, he thought to himself, resting his head against the steering wheel. His hands went stiff against the wheel and his head lolled back on his shoulders as his eyes rolled back and another vision came to him.

Nigel opened the back door into the club, letting Adam in first. It was quiet for the moment as the ladies cleaned up the stage and went to change to leave until later that night. There were shifts after all. The bar was still open to anyone that wanted to come in though, but Nigel had other things planned than getting wasted. Not with Adam around.

“Everyone? This is Adam. He’ll be setting up all the new sound checks and all that since Carlos left last night. He’ll also be helping with bookkeeping,” Nigel explained to everyone there, and the girl’s waved at him, batting their eyes. “No one is to touch him or bother him. You need something, to talk to me.”

Adam looked up and awkwardly waved back, remembering one of the girls from when he’d been there before, when she’d been naked. It was just odd to him really, so he looked back down at his feet. “Hello.” He finally said that much though, to not be rude. There were so many people, well a lot of him to meet all at once anyway.

“Sure thing, boss,” one of the guys said and the girls nodded, understanding that Adam was off limits.

Nigel hooked his arm around Adam’s shoulders and lead him toward a set of stairs in back. “Here is the wiring and all that for the sound.”

That Adam could certainly do. He felt better. Smiling, he started to asses. “Where are the tools?”

Guillaume was born to the Graham’s in New Orleans. They named him William. He wasn’t a fussy baby, he hardly cried unless his parents were fighting, which immediately got them to stop. When Will was two, his mother left, and his father took care of him the best he could, but many nights were spent drunk, and by the time Will was eight, he took care of himself and his father most nights. He cooked and cleaned, he did laundry when he wasn’t in school. He got into trouble a lot, and by the age of ten, after a lot of moving around and living on a boat, Will started to settle into himself.

People were hard to be around, he felt too much, empathized really. He kept to himself, and though in his teen years he tried to date, no one ever understood him, so he didn’t bother.

High school came and went, and Will moved, leaving his father to fend for himself. Will attended college and then moved back to New Orleans in pursuit of job at the local police station. He was twenty-one, bright, intelligent, and looking to fill a void he felt rip him apart from the inside out. He suppressed a lot of urges, hoping the job as a cop would help him be law abiding and not law breaking– or a murderer.

Given the lowest title position, Will took it without remorse for all the debt he had to pay off, none of it mattered if it meant peace of mind. Only, the job was rarely exciting, and his mind wandered, hoping for a murder scene– something interesting.

Will slept for hours. Through the night and through half of the morning, into the afternoon. Spread out on the bed, the robe half on, spread open at the chest. The boat gently swayed, rocking him, keeping him asleep, and content.

As Will slept, Hannibal took care of some business. He sent off a telegram and arranged everything for their arrival in Spain. When he saw Will uncovered, he closed his robe, even if he wanted nothing more than to look and touch him to soothe. Dinner was brought in and he set it up on the table, walking over to kiss the sleeping beauty’s brow. “Will, supper is here, Mylimasis.”

Dark lashes fluttered opened and sleepy blue eyes gazed back up at Hannibal. For a moment, the boy forgot completely where he was, and smiled on seeing the doctor. “What happened to breakfast?”

With a smile, Hannibal stroked his face. “You slept through it. Apparently you needed the rest.” Seeing that smile from Will was quite refreshing.

“Oh.” He nuzzled his face into Hannibal’s palm and then rolled out of bed, unsteady on his feet.

A quiet growl vibrated from Hannibal and he offered his hand to Will. “Perhaps a bath after we eat? It will make you feel better and your wound also needs cleaning.”

“Okay.” Will was less delighted and vocal than he had been as twelve year boy, but the world he’d been thrown into was hardly a place for a boy like that. He took Hannibal’s hand.

Hannibal nodded and lead Will to the table, tying his robe for him. He pulled out the chair and once he was seated, sat down himself, lifting the platter lids. “Spring lamb with a raspberry sauce. I helped oversee the preparation myself.”

“You’ve been busy.” Will had never had lamb. He looked at it, canting his head and picking up the knife and fork, and cut into the meat to try a piece, placing it on his tongue.

Fired. Adam couldn't understand what had happened. He spoken to Harlan afterwards, who had told him he'd need to get a job right away to pay his mortgage so he wouldn't have to move. The boy was stressed. The last person he wanted to see as he carried his box full of office items was Beth.

He'd just gotten up the stairs to his apartment and set the box down to unlock his front door when she approached him.

"Adam, hey."

"Hello Beth." Adam didn't smile, he was too upset.

"I'd like to talk to you about the other day, if that's alright?"

"I don't want to talk to you."

"You need to hear me out and I'm not leaving until you do." Beth placed her hand on her hip and stayed right where she was.

"What is it?"

"I feel bad about how things happened with you and Nigel, but I think you should know he's not a good man. He's a criminal Adam. I think he's just using you for sex, or who knows what else."

"No, h-he loves me, he even said so!"

Summary: Nigel pays for Lee to come to Hong Kong for a Valentine’s Day surprise, one that could be life-altering.

They spent another day in the park revisiting every ride they liked and then even got a little caricature done of them to take home and frame alongside their photos. Nigel had kept his word and gotten Lee a little stuffed thing--a Pluto plush. Then it was back to the main part of the city, for one last go with Cheng.

“Last time seeing Mister Cheng. Then in a couple more days, we go to the doc. I bet you’re eager right? I know I am.” Nigel took Lee’s hand, kissing it, as he parked in front of the old man’s home.

“Doctor here or US?” Lee asked, not sure what else Nigel had in mind.

“The sooner the better. I’m thinking here, and Cheng mentioned he had a reference for one. It seems like they know what the fuck they are talking about here, more than in the US,” Nigel answered, already on looking for one in the states for follow ups. “Also, when we leave here today, I have some photos of some houses I’ve got lined up. You can choose the one you like best, hm?”

“Sounds good.” Lee didn’t mind if Nigel did all the foot work on everything, he was easy going and laid back, so long as he had space for his yoga and meditation.

“Then I’ll show you when we’re done here,” Nigel leaned over and kissed Lee, getting out. He jogged around and opened his door, offering his hand chivalrously.

Lee took Nigel’s hand, letting his soon to be husband lead the way. “I look forward to it.”

“Makes two of us, darling,” Nigel said, and then ushered Lee to the front door. Before he could knock, Cheng opened it, with a large smile on his face, as per usual.

“Hello. You come in, tea is ready.”

Summary: Detective Lecter is on the hunt for the NOLA killer and looking for a hint to his past when he runs into Doctor Graham, an unconventional therapist.

The body found was that of a little girl, around seven years of age. She’d been missing for weeks. Bloated and full of swamp sludge, she was dragged ashore, her chest cavity broken open and her lungs missing, taken for whatever reason, the rest of her left intact. She was pale, and her blonde hair stringy from being in the bayou so long.

“Cause of death wasn’t drowning,” Jack said as Hannibal appeared. “Her lungs were removed and then she was discarded.”

Hannibal, for a moment, envisioned his sister's face when he surveyed the body, crouching. The blonde hair on the girl didn't help. He sniffed, sharp teeth exposing before he composed himself, righting his stance. After another look, he turned to Jack.

"Her lungs were chosen for a reason beyond cruelty. Lungs give life, renewal, a key element. They also make a wonderful dish, a delicacy, especially without the smoke and toxins that can come with age."

Sunday Adam had done his laundry, and his chores, as usual, which meant he hadn’t been able to text Nigel. What he hadn’t expected though, was to meet the brunette that had been checking him out before without his knowledge. Her name was Beth, and after an awkward meeting, he’d went home. She came by later that evening though, and asked if he wanted to hang out, so he agreed as long as it wasn’t anywhere in public.

They spent the whole of the evening together, laughing, and talking. He’d told her about having Asperger’s though, just so she’d be aware right away. The next day, before work, he texted Nigel.

“I can come see your club if you want before I go to work.”

“Alright. I’ll be out front in five.”

“Okay.”

Adam grabbed his crossbody, his keys, and pocketed his phone, locking the door. He walked outside and sat on the steps to wait, wearing a work blazer, blue button up, and khakis. He didn’t need to wait long, Nigel pulled up to the curb, car still running, and then got out, opening Adam’s door for him.

“In you go, darling.”

The day before his given birthday, near adulthood, and many more sessions more with the seizure inducing medication, Will was finally starting to show some improvement. Long forgotten was Neverland and pirates, the beasts there in lied, and the unnamed boy he only teased Chilton about for years. All of it was gone, and new memories were placed, or just not present at all. Everything was routine now, easy and simple. Meals and therapy, painting, outside time, and sleep.

He was docile for the most part, though Will had his outbursts, when nothing made sense, and his dreams turned to nightmares, of winged stags and monsters that ate people. He couldn’t explain them, and no one did anything to comfort him.

During one session, Chilton touched Will’s arm, the one and only sign of kindness. He looked at him with purpose. “Will, you’ve made progress thanks to me, and my treatment plan, but you are nearing adulthood. I think you know better than to breed, don’t you?” he asked, nodding his head as though he were answering for him, “I recommend sterilization. You wouldn’t want to pass on all of your lesser traits, would you?”

“Lesser traits,” Will whispered back, nodding his head. He was always in a daze, the medication he was on made it hard to make rash and decisive choices. “N-no, wouldn’t want that.” Who would have him anyway?

“That’s a wise choice.” Doctor Chilton patted him, and then turned to pull out a folder with a permission slip inside. He handed it to Will, and then placed a pen in his hand. “Here. Sign this now, and you can go have a nice lunch.”

Will took the pen, a piece of him having half a mind to stab it right through Chilton’s eyeball, but instead he leaned over the paper and signed his name, Will Graham. “When… when does this happen?”

The next morning, they arose at a decent hour, the park wouldn’t open until mid morning anyway. Lee dressed casually enough for the park, jeans and sweater, running shoes. He didn’t want to over dress and regret it later. Nigel had on jeans and a loose button up dachshund shirt, paired with his most comfortable pair of boots.

They stood in line, their tickets bought at the booth and in hand first thing.

“Well, darling, let’s go find this fucking mouse, hm?” Nigel grinned, keeping an arm around Lee’s waist as they walked through the gates into a mouse utopia.

Lee rolled his eyes but let Nigel hold him close. “We don’t have to find him. I’m sure he’s busy with the children.”

“Rolling those eyes again. You remember what happened last night… what happens to sassy fucking elves?” Nigel teased, not having really been serious about finding Mickey. He kissed his temple, walking around with his fiance. “So what should we do first? You hungry, or maybe we get the big rides out of the way first?”

Lee picked up a map from one of the stations and opened it up. “Let’s see what’s close?”

“Good idea,” Nigel said, wishing he could smoke, but there wasn’t smoking in the park, or at least none he could see.

Summary: Detective Lecter is on the hunt for the NOLA killer and looking for a hint to his past when he runs into Doctor Graham, an unconventional therapist.

Considering it was dinner he was invited to have, Will dressed up a little more, a tie properly noosed around his neck and a grey suit with a white shirt. Nothing fancy, but for dinner and considering how he perceived Hannibal to be, this would due to get him on his good side. He knocked on the front door of the house, taking in the exterior.

Hannibal opened a moment after, wearing a brown and blue plaid three piece suit, complete with matching tie and pocket square. He smiled when he saw Will, quite impressed. “Hello, Will, right on time.”

Hannibal cleaned up nicer than Will expected, honestly. He’d trimmed his own beard down a little, but not shaved completely. “I’m never late.”

“Nor am I,” Hannibal smiled, closing the door once Will came in. He turned to his handsome guest. “Striking, Will. May I hang up your coat? Supper is just ready.”

Will shrugged off his jacket and handed it to Hannibal. “What are we having?”

Hannibal hung it up and gestured for Will to follow him into the dining room, where he had wine breathing and an immaculate table set. “Roasted Ortolans," he began, pouring them each a glass of wine, "preparation calls for the songbird to be drowned alive in Armagnac. It is then roasted and consumed whole in a single mouthful."

“That sounds almost frightening for the bird,” Will said without much worry over what it meant for someone like Hannibal or himself. “Why this dish?”
