Me when a leftist gets mad that I took a few days to reply to his barely-coherent ask post.
Maybe if you got a job, you wouldnât have this much free time during the week to complain about how all your problems are the Republican Partyâs fault.
Nice ad hominen. Really speaks to your intellectual integrity. And the value of your arguments.
Dude, you canât directly insult me in half of your ask posts, then get cranky when I post a sarcastic meme telling you to chill out. Next time start civil and become aggressive based on my response. donât start by insulting my intelligence.Â
I would also like to state since you seem very concerned with radical Islam that I also hate radical Islam. But since you are a patriot I ask you to look for a moment through this lens. Your country America funds Saudi Arabia an extremist terror state. It literally provides training and munitions to terror groups. Neocon policy is nearly 100% to blame for the rise of the taliban. And it's constant civillian killing drone strikes raise anger amoung the populace drawing them into those groups.
I think youâre aiming that blame in the wrong direction. If you have complaints about funding terror groups and drone strikes, look no further than the former hospital-bomber-in-chief Obama. Actions taken by Obama and Hillary Clinton directly led to the creation of ISIS. The Clintons sold Uranium to Russia. Hillary Clinton received vast funding from Saudi Arabia and other groups affiliated with terrorists. Obama was on friendly terms with the extremist group CAIR.Â
Letâs set one thing straight from the beginning - Iâm not a Democrat - I think both parties are two sides of the same corruption scarred coin. So I donât disagree. Obamaâs neoliberal administration was terrible and corrupt especially in the middle East. But letâs not forget which administration created the quagmire we find ourselves in too this day by initially destabilizing the region by deposing Saddam. At the end of the day the shitshow in the middle East was a bi-partisan American effort. Luckily Iâm not a partisan in this. Iâm just a lefty. Letâs also not forget that Trump has done nothing to decrease drone strikes, (he has however stated heâd like to intentionally kill non-combantants) increased our presence in Afghanistan, continues the American tradition of kowtowing to Saudi Arabia, and still funds Islamic terror with taxpayer money. Letâs also not forget Trumpâs business ties to Saudi Arabia. Eight companies is a hell of a conflict of interest. My point still stands. American policy creates and grows Islamic terror in the Middle East.
Blaming America for the problems in the Middle East is a pretty one-sided view of history. Did certain American politicians have a role in the destabilization of the Middle East, sure. But youâre forgetting one key player: The Soviet Union. Their actions, more than any other country, group, or political party, and their aggression in Korea, Vietnam, and the Middle East, led to our involvement in those areas. It was retaliatory. Now, we might have stayed their too long and funded the wrong groups, but deposing Saddam was absolutely the right move.
America canât win. If we donât get involved, weâre heartless. If we do get involved, weâre imperialists. At the end of the day, if you want to know the real source of Islamic terror, it comes from the religion itself. Other regions have been destabilized in the past without resorting to terrorism, the unifying factor is the presence of an extremist religion.Â
My gripe with the libertarian right is that although they seem to acknowledge government power as something that needs to be checked and controlled they seem to neglect the presence of capital power as something that exists and can be used to dominate/coerce. For example just look at the robber barons of the 20th century and how they treated their employees prior to regulation. Low pay, dangerous conditions, at times having them outright beaten/killed by pinkerton (Ludlow/Pullman for example).
Thereâs a difference between Objectivism and Corporatism, and Libertarianism. I believe the government does have a role in making sure corporations play by the rules, but an over-abundance of regulation only leads to economic inefficiency. The way to improve conditions and pay is through competition, not a forceful government hand
Competition is just the problem though. In this ruthless global economy remaining competitive as a business/company involves cutting corners which ultimately stunt the working and middle class at home in the 1st world (wage stagnation despite economic growth, union-busting, etc) and amount to atrocities in the 3rd world (violent union suppression, sweatshop labor, slave labor, resource exploitation, horrifying conditions etc). The presence of government regulation rings slightly hollow to me given the unholy alliance our representatives have with money. Working class solidarity is the only answer.
Without competition, you have no innovation. Socialism and similar ideologies result in a total stagnation of innovation and economic development. Sure the resources are redistributed, but eventually they will run out.Â
And company corruption and unfair play is what leads to these horrible outcomes and monopolies arising, not capitalism itself. If the government stopped playing favorites and allowed dying companies to fail, or if they stopped raising the barriers to entry on certain industries, we would never have monopolies in the long term, and companies that treated workers poorly would be boycotted and eventually fail.
But this is 21st century America, our working conditions are some of the best in the world. And, despite the best efforts of the Democratic party, we are still heavily capitalist.Â
Working class solidarity is a nice thought, but it is ultimately a hollow buzzword that amounts to the same corruption that they sought to fight. Look at the state of the modern union, for example.
Furthermore when you say you're debating leftists you seem to cherry pick arguements from only the most brain dead and sensational amoung us. I feel that you have locked on to a very small part of "the left" and have proceeded to throw us all in with them despite the vast amount of ideological differences across the left spectrum. I try my best not to strawman "the right" as a monolith, and as a leftist I would appreciate if you extended us that same courtesy.(Not trying to be disrespectful FYI)
Honestly, what you see on my feed is the best thatâs thrown at me. Not a lot of intellectual heavyweights try to debate me. And when I talk about âLeftistsâ, Iâm usually referring to Progressives, not liberals in general. I actually made a post on the ideological differences between these two groups.
Even than. Progressives and liberals represent only a tiny portion of the left ideologically.
Oh how I wish that were true. Unfortunately, they are a growing force in the Democratic party and have begun to affect policy and the direction of the party. All the major talking points of the progressives from 5 years ago (bathroom policy, unbalanced rape trials, hate speech laws, etc) are becoming policy as far up as state legislature in the more leftist states.Â
Hell, Europe is full of leftists. Look at the hate speech and anti-blasphemy laws of England and Germany. Even good old Canada is turning into a leftist paradise with their laws about âmis-genderingâ and âislamophobiaâ.

Double Standards
This only proves that liberalism and rightism are both parasitic cancers. Itâs not the white man who is at fault here, or muslims; itâs identity politics and capitalism. Also, calling liberals âleftistsâ just makes me want to hit my head against a wall.
Thereâs no intellectually honest way you could possibly blame capitalism for the actions of an ideological and religious movement (Islam) that has been performing these sorts of atrocities since their inception.
Islam has always been the religion of conquerors and warlords. Theyâve been killing infidels since long before the creation of free market capitalism.
Double Standards
White Genocide
White farmers in South Africa are being murdered at a rate 4.5 to 5 times higher than the national murder rate. It is now more dangerous to be a white farmer in South Africa than a policeman.Â
This is ingrained in their government and in their culture. Their politicians and leaders sanction this. Recently a member of the Department of Sport and Recreation of the leading party, Esethu Hasane, blamed a drought in a predominately-white area as âGodâs punishment to white peopleâ. The leader of the EFF party, Julius Malema, said he didnât want to slaughter white people âat least for nowâ.Â
Velaphi Khumalo, a high-ranking government employee openly called for white genocide, saying âBlack South Africans must do to White people what âHitler did to the Jews.ââ
White genocide is real. It is happening. And the world is ignoring it.

Whitesplaining White Privilege
The concept of white privilege has become an important bulwark of the Democratic Partyâs ideology and was discussed in nearly every Democratic debate. Â
âWhat is white privilege,â you may ask. Â I donât know. Â Letâs find out.
White privilege: brought to you by the same people who brought you white guilt.
White priviledge: another guilt trip from the Far left progressives to squelch out free speech and civil discourse.
Sorry, but we will still excercise our right to vote despite your guilt trips.
Great video!
Reminder that if you focus on race as a determining factor of peopleâs character, you are a racist.Â
There is no such thing as White Privilege.Â
If we are defining white privilege as having given advantages in society based on being white (i.e. certain disadvantages exist for those who are not white) then to claim white privilege doesnât exist is in contradiction to numerous scientific sources. Iâll be examining instances in the United States as this is a direct response to you.
(Note: a lot of these studies only show the abstracts as the full journals have to be paid for or require an account to view, I concede this is a limitation but itâs still a summary of the studies themselves, itâs also worth noting that this is just the tip of the iceberg and itâs always worth doing your own research as there are many more studies like these that find similar results i.e. results that show that people who are not white are disadvantaged or to put it another way, white people are advantaged or âprivilegedâ in certain ways.)
These 3 studies outline the implicit racial bias in court cases:

This study shows how wealth inequality has grown between races since the Great Recession:
http://www.tripoetry.com/BEING-BLACK/FACTS/Wealth%20inequality%20has%20widened%20along%20racial,%20ethnic%20lines%20since%20end%20of%20Great%20Recession%20%7C%20Pew%20Research%20Center.pdf
This is a pdf concerning implicit bias and how to examine it:
http://cte.virginia.edu/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/2014-implicit-bias_pp.70-73.pdf
Not talking about race or racism does not make racism go away. We all have implicit biases against people, racial or otherwise, that we are not even aware of. When these biases are ignored, they result in large portions of society being severely disadvantaged. We can only make amends to these biases if we acknowledge their presence and address them openly and try and compensate for them wherever possible. To deny their existence, whilst often well meaning, ultimately helps to hide these profound disadvantages and the suffering they cause.
Implicit racial bias is present in all races against every race that is not their own. And if weâre talking about an implicit bias, that is something that is completely subconscious and part of human nature, then how exactly can one solve this? If there are specific instances of racism in the world, then we can do something about them. But it is impossible to police peopleâs thoughts, especially ones that are totally subconscious. The only thing we can do in this instance is make it illegal to discriminate based on race, which we already have.
And the existence of some racial income disparity does not prove systematic racism. Youâre confusing correlation with causation. There are confounding factors at work that affect racial income levels, such as marriage rates (which are insanely low in the black community). In fact, one of the largest determining factors of success in America is not race or even socioeconomic status, but coming from a two-parent household.Â
The marriage rates of black parents was going up in the 50s and 60s, when racism was rampant and legal. So why is it so terrible now? In part, this is because of the welfare state created by Democrats. Blacks in America have become dependent on the state for prosperity, and therefore have no incentive to work hard. In fact, the welfare system incentivizes them to have more kids and to stay unwed, because they are given better benefits if they do.
And actually your police data is outdated. Modern studies have found that police are actually more afraid to shoot black suspects now, partly due to the disproportionate media backlash.Â
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/jan/5/police-officers-more-hesitant-to-shoot-black-suspe/
Furthermore, if you look at statistics of police shootings, youâll find that the proportion of black shooting victims almost perfectly line up with their rates of criminality. The idea of police bias against blacks is a myth.
Regardless of all the aforementioned factors, how does constantly bringing up the idea of white privilege help anything? Whatâs the game plan here? Do you want to make all white people feel guilty for something they canât control and have no hand in? For something their ancestors may or may not have done? None of my ancestors ever owned slaves, am I still supposed to feel guilty? Whatever happened to the idea of not holding people accountable for the sins of their fathers?
No, in truth, white privilege is a concept made up by interest groups to push political agendas. It allows certain people to make points that are less than valid and would fail under scrutiny without being challenged by their peers.Â
White privilege is silencing opposition, nothing more. It is a weapon of cultural Marxism used to change the accepted window of political thought in America.
EDIT: For transparencyâs sake, I deleted and amended one part of this specific post because I felt some of I what initially put down was inaccurate and inappropriate.

I agree that implicit racial bias occurs in all races and I said as much in my initial response. Specifically examining the USA however, it has come to be that these biases have most negatively affected people who are not white.
Educating people, and being open to being educated is not âpolicing thoughtsâ. In presenting these sources to you, Iâm not trying to police your thoughts, Iâm trying to show you that white people have distinct advantages in many different areas of life in the USA, on a vast scale. What you do and think next is down to you. I personally believe to address this issue on larger scale, educating people is the way forward. For example it could be incorporating these ideas whilst training people of various professions.

I agree that study in and of itself does not prove systemic racism. However I also gave you multiple other sources that stated how implicit bias is affecting other things such as health care and incarceration rates. This study outlines how disproportionate incarceration as well as âThe War On Drugsâ accounts for much of the discrepancy in the marital habits between white people and black people:
http://www.cemfi.es/~guner/Black-White-Marriage-Gap-CGR-November2016.pdf
Additionally, you havenât presented a source for your claim about the disparity being due to the actions of the democrats and indeed this study does not mention that as being a factor.
âAnd actually your police data is outdated. Modern studies have found that police are actually more afraid to shoot black suspects now, partly due to the disproportionate media backlash.Â

To claim your source deems mine âoutdatedâ is false and misleading. Your source from 2015, does not make an analysis of many peer-reviewed studies on actual police incidents taking place over 3 years from 2011 to 2014 irrelevant. Police officers making certain statements in unrelated interviews does not contradict the record of the actions took in that time period or the findings of the analysis of said actions.
My source explicitly states that: âThere is no relationship between county-level racial bias in police shootings and crime rates (even race-specific crime rates), meaning that the racial bias observed in police shootings in this data set is not explainable as a response to local-level crime rates.â This is in direct contradiction to your claim that this bias policing occurs as a response to âthe levels of criminalityâ.
There are some genuinely well-meaning police officers so itâs not unreasonable to suggest that some perhaps are more sensitive to racism and afraid to shoot black suspects like your source suggests. However this sensitivity and fear from these individuals is NOT translating into wide scale action. And this is my point, that people are claiming to not be racist and to be hyperaware of racism but the accumulative actions taken by many of those in positions of authority show there is a bias present that isnât being addressed properly.
This study conducted earlier this year supports this idea of bias and states that evidence-based policies need to be put in place in order to mitigate for it:
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/1745-9133.12284/full

My personal goals in responding to you is to try and clarify in good faith what the scientific consensus is on racial bias. I donât intend to be accusatory on a personal level (or indeed on any level). I donât know you personally, I donât know if you are what my personal opinion of a âgoodâ or a âbadâ person is and quite frankly, itâs not what Iâm here to discuss. Again, in no way have I silenced you by presenting you this information.
I agree the concept of privilege does get discussed reductively, aggressively and unconstructively by a lot of people and a lot of media outlets from every side of the political spectrum. But that doesnât mean the concept of âprivilegeâ i.e. âcertain groups having specific advantages over othersâ is itself is untrue in this case or that the concept itself is âa weapon of Cultural Marxismâ or âa concept made up by interest groups to push political agendasâ.
White Privilege is a complex and nuanced topic and doesnât mean white people in the USA cannot suffer immensely and endure terrible hardship. But what it does mean is that other ethnic groups are disadvantaged in many situations for not being white in the US.
I agree that implicit racial bias occurs in all races and I said as much in my initial response. Specifically examining the USA however, it has come to be that these biases have most negatively affected people who are not white.
Educating people, and being open to being educated is not âpolicing thoughtsâ. For example it could be incorporating these ideas whilst training people of various professions.
Educating is not policing thoughts, correct, but constantly reminding people of thoughts and ideas that are beyond their control isnât exactly helping anything. It ventures into the domain of âthought policingâ when you start asking people to âWork on their white privilegeâ, âcheck their privilegeâ, or âtry to move past implicit biasâ. Youâre telling them that certain thoughts and attitudes are not okay and should be aggressively repressed, which IS thought policing. If a woman had a bad experience with several men and had some implicit bias against all men, would you be telling her to control her unconscious thoughts?
I agree that study in and of itself does not prove systemic racism. However I also gave you multiple other sources that stated how implicit bias is affecting other things such as health care and incarceration rates. This study outlines how disproportionate incarceration as well as âThe War On Drugsâ accounts for much of the discrepancy in the marital habits between white people and black people:

Additionally, you havenât presented a source for your claim about the disparity being due to the actions of the democrats and indeed this study does not mention that as being a factor.
I agree with you on the War on Drugs, which I am against. But another factor is the welfare system in America:
http://www.heritage.org/welfare/report/how-welfare-undermines-marriage-and-what-do-about-it
This system was started by FDR (a Democrat) and was continually expanded under Democrats.Â
http://www.crf-usa.org/bill-of-rights-in-action/bria-14-3-a-how-welfare-began-in-the-united-states.html
But regardless of whose fault it is, implicit racial bias in individuals in healthcare, police, the government, etc. does NOT constitute systematic racism or prejudice. It is almost impossible to eliminate personal biases in a single generation and this can only be achieved through cultural changes.Â
All of these personal biases are mostly irrelevant, as institutionalized racism in America is illegal and is actively prosecuted. In fact, regardless of race or socioeconomic status, any poor person can become middle class in their lifetime if they follow three simple rules: 1. Graduate High School, 2. Get a Job, 3. Donât Have Kids Out of Wedlock. Thatâs it.
According to a study by the Brookings Institute, 75% of poor children who followed these rules have joined the middle class, and only 2% are still in poverty.Â
http://merionwest.com/2017/08/19/the-myth-of-institutional-racism/

http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/1745-9133.12284/full
Your study does not prove this idea of âinstitutional prejudiceâ against black suspects. It contends that âthe probability of being {black, unarmed, and shot by police} is about 3.49 times the probability of being {white, unarmed, and shot by police} on average.â, which does not imply racial bias. It implies that there is a higher probability of a person being black and shot by police than being white and shot by police, which says nothing about the situation or crime rates. Just because more black people get shot and are unarmed, does not mean there is some racial bias at work.
Furthermore, the study contends that there is no correlation between race-specific crime rates and increased probabilities of being unarmed and shot, but does not take into account the variance of types of crime of each race. Black people are more likely than whites to commit VIOLENT crime, which more often leads to confrontations with the police. Furthermore, the areas studied had a large, poor black population that was often compared to middle-class whites. When the socio-economic statuses of the individuals, proportions of population, and types of crime committed on average by each race are factored into the equation, you might get a more accurate picture.
There are also many studies that directly contradict the claim made by this study. For example, a study by the New Century Foundation found that âThe evidence suggests that if there is police racial bias in arrests it is negligible.âÂ
https://www.amren.com/the-color-of-crime/
Regardless, even if individual instances of racial bias are found at local levels, it does NOT imply racial bias at the national level.
My personal goals in responding to you is to try and clarify in good faith what the scientific consensus is on racial bias. I donât intend to be accusatory on a personal level (or indeed on any level). While I appreciate your civil tone and rational arguments, this notion of âwhite privilegeâ being pushed is actively used to silence dissenting opinions. In your case, it seems you are simply contending that one race has an implicit advantage over another, which we could have a rational discussion about. But the original post was talking about interest groups and media outlets that use this notion to peddle overt racism against white people and try to silence any dissenting opinions based on their racial identity.
Examples:Â
But you still havenât answered my question, which is this: what is the point? What is the point of bringing this up, other than to push political and racial narratives that are factually incorrect? How does it help to point fingers and allow for one form of racism to be socially acceptable?Â
White Privilege is a buzzword used by people who offer no solutions to the supposed problem and only seek to score virtue points by calling people names and pointing fingers.
It is a wonderment to some âŚ.

So if a black person has anything bad happen to them, it must mean systematic racism?Â
This is ridiculous. Why is a black congresswoman receiving death threats supposedly proof of systematic racism, when the same thing happens to white congresspeople of all political leanings? And Trump has called plenty of people liars, it has nothing to do with race.
I think liberals just want to live in a world where black people can do whatever they want to white people (call them racial slurs, get selected before them in job applications), regardless of how racist it is, and white people canât do anything negative in relation to any black person, regardless of the context. Not everything that happens to a black person is a race issue. Calm down.
âNot everything that happens to a black person is a race issue.â So even you have to admit that black people are targets because of their race, but you then claim it doesnât matter. Also would you even consider saying the same thing about white people? No, of course not, because if it ever happened, the right Wing would be beating us to death with it 24/7.
Thatâs not what I said at all. Read my comment again before responding to it with meaningless diatribes filled with Progressive buzzwords.
