this is especially maddening to me in fb groups or subreddits for like, fishkeeping or medical conditions, when you ask something like “can anyone who has expertise or experience with x share their perspective here?” and then half a dozen people post screenshots from fucking google ai overview as an answer. like that’s even more insulting than “oh I asked chatgpt” like do you not think it occurred to me to google this before I asked for human input????

the worst part is we're only asking in the subreddits in the first place because the fucking AI overview and sponsored answers have edged out the actual access to real information that we used to go to google for to begin with
