Tonight's movie was The Broadway Melody (1929).

We didn't know what we were getting into with this 1, only that is was a Hollywood musical. It was a bit strange, but the music, costumes, and occasional bits of dialogue were fantastic.

The exchanged barbs are some of the best we've heard in years. Honestly? Best pre-Code barbs we've gotten so far in any of our choices of films that were released before 1934. Which isn't saying much bc there's only been a few so far, but out of the 4 or 5? It's #1 in barbs.

I was surprised to know a couple of the songs (mostly "Wedding of the Painted Doll" and "Boy Friend") despite never seeing the movie before. I think bc I'd been looking into 1920s music for something? But I'm not sure?

If you like musicals, this film is at least worth a watch. There's no page for it on Does the Dog Die, so be cautious going in.

This is... not going to go well.

Palpatine is obviously going to call for Fives to be executed. He can't allow any clones to be out of his control. He needs everyone to participate in Order 66. Even 1 rogue clone can throw everything off.

And this is making me fear for Fives. I'm hoping that somebody is able to save him and get him out of there. He'd be on the run for the rest of his life, but he'd be alive.

But given how the rest of the Domino Squad is dead... My hopes aren't too high.

The Jedi are so close to finding out about Order 66. And I know none of them will believe that the clones would ever kill them - bc they're so darn loyal, it hurts.

Ah. I'm a mess of thoughts and emotions about this.
