I'm almost done reading Project Hail Mary (I used the free trial Audible credit for it and I'm reading the e-book along with it) and I wanted to watch the movie after..
But apparently it's STILL not streaming anywhere (at least not in my country) and it's only available for purchase on Prime Video.
So far, the only opinions I've seen online were "The book is amazing! I didn't like the movie, though."
So I have to ask the wise users of Tumblr to help me decide, lol. I'm not even gonna include 'The movie was better' option, because there's simply no way, lol.
What did you think of the Project Hail Mary movie compared to the book?

Ok, results time... Aaand really!? Not a single voter/book reader who did not like the movie!? Tumblr is much kinder than Facebook apparently, lol.
Damn, perhaps I should have put ".. and the movie was ok but not great" option, because that's how I'd "rate" it after watching it. While there were still some hilarious and wholesome moments, it just felt so rushed and dumbed down, sorry! 🫣 And don't even get me started on that stupid "Xenon's a gas!" line (as if gases don't form solid compounds). 🤦🏻♀️ But probably the most 'disappointing' thing about it for me was that Eridians don't speak in musical notes in the movie, which I've really gotten used to from the audiobook.
Now I wonder if I would have enjoyed the movie more if I had not read the book. I'll try watching it again sometime later..
