I tried some 3d softwares to make a character for VR.

I wanted to go for a design thats like whimsical/futuristic like (sorta like miku) kind of design.

Done on Vroid , which already has a standard base to work on, but it was hard to customise the model to fit my exact design, thus I stopped it.

I decided to try modeling in Blender instead, while learning on twitch from Shonzo to understand proper character modeeling.

My day 1-4 progress of the one week portrait challenge by paintable :) ~ 

The full progression from day 1 - 5 :)

1. Finally got through the blender guru series part 1. 

Redid the donut a few times, need to practice more rip...

- Learn the ui of blender, controls (g - move , s - scale , r- rotate)

- different shading modes

- how to add diff modifiers (subdivs , solidify)

- right click to select vertices, use mid mouse to scroll in-out to adjust, make sure that it reacts to it, then esc if it flies too much)

- press n, set view > clip start to 0.001mm if the donut when scroll in becomes a see through.

2. Added and shifted the lighting, making the scene darker ~

3. Adding some nice old sprinkles (they were hell to do jesus save my soul)

4. Made them sprinkles bigger~

- Use weight paint (modelling mode), to tell object where you want sprinkles to be.

5. Finally, the complete donut with bun texture ~

- texture painting , image > new > width 2048 x 1024px

- press n to open the colour tab, can add texture(+new)

- displacement (for bumps)
