Surah Imran 190-200 right after you wake up. Put aside your phone, and check the notifications in the Mushaf. Meditate on it. Carry it everywhere you go. Read as much of the Qur’an as you can each day. Dedicate quality time with it. Put on your headphones and listen to your favorite reciter rock your heart to awakening as you walk. Have conversations about the secrets woven in the verses. Write quick lovely marginalia on its margins. Annotate your favorite parts. Live your life by what it tells you. Prioritize it. Find the answers of life’s questions in its pages. “Have mercy on me, my Lord, with the Qur’an.” “Make me among the people of Qur’an.” repeat that in every prostration. Every prayer. Pray to be granted the knowledge to interpret its wisdom. Pray with it. Embody the teachings of the Qur’an in your life, make your character it. Take it as a reference. Forget how much time has passed since you’ve started reading it. Cry over it. Pretend to cry over it when your tears refuse to come. Take the time to learn its meaning, to analyze your love letter from your Lord. The reasons for its revelation. Recite it, beautifying your voice as you do so. Love it with every breath you take. Tell others about how much you love this Sacred Book. Surah Mulk before you go to sleep.

The face that stares back at me in the mirror is a stranger - hollow eyes and tangled hair where my own beautiful features once graced. She stretches out her arms pleading for an embrace and I want to hug her into oblivion. I meet her gaze with a defiance that runs in my blood. The defiance that can only be found in the protectors of Qudus. She smiles as her eyes question me, "what's with you?" What's with me? With a destroyed home and family scattered? With grief as my constant companion each dawn as I wake to the drones of oppressors overhead and the deafening silence of the ummah? But knowing Allah's Help dwarfs their actions, or rather inaction. That I don't mind if they've this temporary world as long as the Akhirah, the infinite, is mine. What's with me when everyone got to go home before me, and I am sitting here awaiting for that time, for my meeting with my Rabb. Because if He decrees it for me, I'll forget all this suffering at the first step into eternal bliss, Jannah. There is no pain or fear - only rest after this life of tiredness. Because I can finally meet my loved ones, my beloved ﷺ and his companions. Because my heart yearns for one of the two best things; martyrdom or victory. So I whisper with hope, "Sufficient for me is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of my affairs, that’s what is with me. That’s what sustains me. And it’s more than enough.”

tahsil means to bring out something in the open, and to sort out different things from one another. Thus, the use of tahsil concerning hidden secrets of the hearts contains both the meanings: to expose them and to sort out the good from the evil.
