Have you ever thought about starting your own business? Well I’m in the middle of it right now, and its much more difficult than I ever imagined. I’ve had to learn something about everything, and it doesn’t end there. Just when you think the hardest part is over, the next step presents its challenges. Who knew it would be so tough?

It starts with writing the business plan, not an easy thing when you don’t have a team behind you. You have to know about marketing and strategy, finances, cost projections etc. Then when you are all done you think to yourself the worst is over, but then you have to write an elevator pitch, do a presentation deck for investors with a set of Q&A’s so you can be prepared. But having all these things, doesn’t matter if you don’t have someone who’s interested in looking at it. So you have to start cold calling and mailing potential investors, in the hope you get someone who’s bombarded by these type of projects, just to look at it.

There is so much pressure in todays society to be active online, even your CV has to indicate your interests and activities. Without it one looks a little single-faceted. In the old days, and yes this is indicative of my age, a person would have hobbies, or social responsibility projects that would beef up a CV. But who has time for any of those things, when blogging and social media takes up all our spare time. And of course, when you work in advertising, without having a blog these days, many employers don’t even look at your CV. Part reason why there are so many ‘Blogs About Nothing’ out there. So, even though I have nothing to share and nothing to say, and in the interest of conformity, and the need for a CV filler, here I go... Here is my blog about nothing.
