Let me tell you a story, a story of perseverance. This path of self- employment in the dog game wasnāt easy. I had my share of detractors. From family to friends and the others that told me to get a job and just be happy living paycheck to paycheck. One person in particular stood out, my high school counselor Dr. Ford.
I didnāt like school too much bouncing from one high school to another. I missed a lot of days and ditched many more so some fault lies on me. But a counselor should do everything possible to encourage a young man to fulfill their every possibilities.
It wasnāt that I didnāt tried talking to her about what I was doing. I shared with her my passion in dogs, my accomplishments in the sport of Shutzhund and the possibilities that came with sticking to training dogs.
Dr. Ford wasnāt listening she would tell me I wouldnāt amount to anything. Stay home if I didnāt like school. This little dog gig isnāt going to give me a career. Instead sheād flaunt her yearly salary, degrees, and where she travels instead of listening, encouraging what I was doing.
Iām not about to sneak diss this post is for you, Dr. Ford šš½I followed my dreams, created businesses and became self made all the while being a high school dropout. School isnāt for everybody, I realized that early on but when you dream BIG, set goals you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Just do you!
