Name: Sophie Ernoult
ID Number: 10465487
Centre Name: Miskin Theatre, North Kent College
Center number: 61159
My name is Sophie Ernoult, I am 16 years of age and currently studying a one year acting course at Miskin Theatre Dartford, where I have been developing my skills as a performer. I would describe myself as a positive and driven individual who is right now someone endowed with a strategic mindset, focus and personal drive and enthusiasm for furthering myself as an actor. A bit about myself, I have always lived in Chislehurst Kent with my Mum, Dad and younger brother William they have always been supportive of my future career as an actor and made it easier for me to choose this as my profession. Other than performing, in my spare time I enjoy hobbies such as: Piano, fashion, classical ballet and attending social event’s as meeting new people is something I’m very comfortable with and enjoy.
For my audition pieces I choose ‘After Juliet’ by Sharman Macdondald and also ‘Invisible Friends’ by Laura Dean. I choose these too pieces because I really thought they showcased what I had to offer as an actor and also they were too very contrasting pieces so I was able to show my versatility and also that I’m a all rounded actor.
I believe myself to be a versatile actress who can take direction and have done from a very early age. I have gained experienced by attending Italia Conti performing arts school where I studied the three techniques of performance: dance, singing, acting. I also was involved in a variety of different shows where I showcased my talents singing solos and artistic dance solo’s gaining stage presence; Learning what it was like performing at a high standard and having the ability to own the stage. Whilst being at secondary school I joined ‘D&B Performing Arts School’ where I decided to take my career to a new level as I received private singing lesson’s studying my voice and molding my talents. They completely stripped my basic knowledge of drama and gave me the greatest history skills and techniques so that every time I step on to any stage I will always leave the audience thinking of me even if it were one line or just an audition panel. I push myself everyday as an actor and work hard until my body is about to break. I have the skills to not only get me noticed but to be on your level and carry on my training further with your establishment.
My current educational qualifications that I have gained are four GCSE’S in English, Drama and 2 BTEC sports. The qualifications I am currently studying are a three-year course at the Miskin Theatre in Dartford where continually each day I am pushed as an actor, I learn and become a deeper more devoted actor each day. I have recently just applied to do a few classes at the Circus glory and also West End Kids where I can get further knoloage and take further risks in acrobats and also have an understanding on what it is like to perform on a West End stage. All this training and different workshops I participate in will help me at the Foundation For Creativity’s School Of Performance And Production because it means I can take all what I have learn and use it to help me peruse my acting here and use what I learn new at this course and previously to also perform me to the best of my abilities.
I have a variety of different hobbies I enjoy in my spare time. I love, love to sing in my spare time, I attend my regular singing lessons at D&B performing arts where I also do ballet. Furthermore, I love to play piano where I am working towards my next grade and cook in my kitchen at home, where I experiment with all different foods and create cool new dishes. My two favorite hobbies would probably be singing and playing piano because it means I can combine the too and write my own songs oh and I also love to do ballet and tennis.
Finally, As an actor I am very independent I like to approach things on my own and see where I can go with them and see what the outcome maybe. Although if given a note or any direction I will automatically take that on to the best of my abilities. Because it is physically a hard industry I always try to keep as fit and healthy as possible, I try to go to the gym a lot and always to physical and intense workouts to push myself. Everyday, I do a vocal, physical and focus warm up individually and with my company so that we are ready and on the ball throughout the duration of the rehearsal and I would continue this everyday and would be grateful to learn more from the amazing program you have to offer on your course.
In conclusion, I’ve got so much to offer and you probably hear so many people say that, but I’m not like other people, I’m not just your regular actor, I’m will work everyday and I have had a background of people saying I’m useless, am never going to make it and I have used that and turned that into drive, determination, hunger to make it in the industry. You give me something I will do it, and if I cant do it I will go away and perfect it until I can. I vocally and physically am determined and perform to the best of my abilities in all areas of drama and this is why I would love to be apart of your course, so that I can widen my knowledge. So I can carry on this path, and have the ability to work and perform to such amazing people and directors and I hope to hear from you soon.
Yours Faithfully
Sophie Ann Ernoult
Final Evaluation
Throughout the duration of the whole entire process I believe each stage was successful even during the highs and lows because if none of those would of happened we probably wouldn't have the piece we have today. We continually worked hard as a company and used it to our advantage of having the ability to be able to play and explore different levels. The main reason it was a success was because we created a piece of art in six days, six days! These six days we worked intensively on creating, molding and finalizing a beginning, middle and end. We did different character workshops in order to create a backstory on them generally and also had the ability to learn a whole script within 6 days. Success is an understatement of what this process was although if I could sum it up in a few words it would be, having the chance to work with amazing directors Gavin and Carly who have such great directions and understanding of how they can see something so small being suck a key element and used such cool teaching we used in our piece like just holding the silence because having said sometime silence is beauty. Also Carly just telling us be aware of the stage and cheat the audience, I had never heard of that before so now I know that and the audience won't just see your ass and back! Also having the realization of how lucky we are have the company we do, a room full of actors who are so kind and also people I still am amazed by because I learn from them too, the people around me who I think I know everything about and then I learn something new from them and I believe if these actors weren't in this company it won't have been there same success.
At first I didn't think so but now I realized that the most, most successful part of our piece was the last show to the second years because it went everything but right. While performing this last show we were really disappointed as a company because it was just not going right, people forgot lines and came in a bit late and because lines were missed it meant people were confused where to come in. Yeah we did cover it and you could tell the audience did not even flinch, they didn't even notice but it was the fact we did notice and knew we weren't performing to the best of our abilities, although while beating ourselves up about it and talking about it to the directions an unexpected reaction came from them...! Both Gavin and Carley thought and I quote, ‘that was by far my favorite performance yet’ we were shocked because we were really beating ourselves up about it we didn't really get how it was. Although they explained to us that they were glad it went wrong because it was a learning curve and sometimes these things do happen and you just got to cover for people and some people did and yeah it was still a really strong piece and you can learn from this. Suddenly we did realize that yeah and we did cover it just didn't go to plan but we still pulled it off and that's all that matters. I believe another successful part of the whole process was actually bringing the leaves and massive branches into the room and completely filling it and if you were really entering a woods because suddenly before your eyes this immersive illusion entering this world and you didn't even have to picot yourself being in a woods because it was so real, it was already there in front of your eyes. It was awesome and defiantly drew the audience in. for me as an actor, I personally believe where it was most successful for me was in the final show where me and Harry were performing and he sought of went blank so I helped him but saying a bit more of the story than I usually would and you could just tell he was literally back on track and was performing really well. For a minute though it was scary because I just had to keep talking as if this is what I would do until he cut in front of me but I just had t take the risk and it did help because suddenly it was back to what we were doing. Secondly, another highlight for me would be while performing for once I believe that I delivered my lines at a reasonable pace and didn't speed up and the only reason I would veer speed up was because of nerves and I realized I did have to be nervous to perform in front of these people or anyone anymore. We all want to be in the same industry and if I keep holding back then I will continually beat myself up because of it so I was really happy. Finally, something I thought was really successful was doing the improvisations of the characters and bringing away from script. I felt while performing we explored the characters ourselves a lot more and where our group had to perform the lead up to Adam’s death, showing the audience all the nasty tricks we did to him it was actually towards the end quite hard and when my character did leave and continued to watch the other actors perform you actually see all the painful toucher Adam went through but it was good actually seeing him go through it and him desperately want to be apart of a group which just mocked him.
I believe where is lack successfulness and was actually unsuccessful was I believe our commitment, timing and being in everyday as actors. Somedays some of the actors in our company would not turn up without notice because they were ill or they missed their train so decided to get the later one or one after that. Sometimes when we are on a break and get given a certain time to come back we might just sit on the stairs rather than actually being in the room before the dictator and showing that we are ready. Also our sometimes focus as a company and respect all these little things add up to big things which waste time and energy we could have been putting into our performance. I believe that was our most unsuccessful part in the piece. So believe that when the next process comes if we stop this the piece will be just that extra stronger and it will show we are fully committed as actors. I believe my weakness as an actor was me turning up late on the show day. I knew it was totally wrong and was embarrassed coming in late because it is performance day. My train did have signal failure but in future references I will get the earlier train so that I have plenty of time to organize myself and am not late ever again!
Looking back now at the time period given, and having the opportunity to change anything or actually improved anything I would say I wouldn't. I would say we could look at certain parts and tidy them up a bit more. Although if given more time, for me personally I would have taken a risk an continued to strive forward and continue to look at different levels and just see if we can change little bits so that it just makes that overall difference. However if had the choice of extra time I would not have taken if maybe just one extra day but the reason I liked having so little time is because we got so much done. We worked so hard and there was no time for slacking. I believe if we had more time we would have worked at a slower pace and would have been a lot longer so I like having to work in such a short amount of time because I also feel being under pressure I perform to the best of my abilities as an actor.
I learned so much from this process. So much from Gavin and Carly. So much from the actors in my company and so much about myself as an actor and my strengths and weakness. I learn while doing scripted that you should not spend ages just sitting down with it as soon as you get it play with it, read i more than once and explore the different characters, voices, gestures and to see what works and what does not. I learn that a really important tip is that while doing script that always bring what your reading off the page, put your voice in the room and project. My favorite note we were given from Gavin was ‘The best actors are the ones who best investigate’. I literally Learnt new things everyday even when we had a talk of what a proper warm-up was from vocal, physical and focus and now we do them everyday without thinking and I have a better understanding on it. Furthermore, from doing the dance off to portraying and copying one person in groups of three’s it was all about attention to detail, commitment and owning the stage it doesn't matter how silly you look if you are committed the audience will go along with you. As a company we gained a lot, we gained trust, communication skills and we gain appreciation and how lucky we were to be in the company we were and when we are focused and working hard we are unbeatable and each piece of performance we create is art and no one can take that away from us. We actually talk more as a company and each day instead of the same person taking control different people now do the warm up and exercises, different people speak out and put their voices in the room whereas before they did not. We all spend a lot more time together, hang around with each other and make sure no one is ever left out. We gained a family trust, i couldn't imagine not being in this company now, they are literally like a family to me especially where we have spent so much time with each other and I don't mind because i love spending time with them, I wouldn't want to with anyone else. As an actor and individual myself I learn the best way forward if given a note and watching other people is to take the note straight away it shows your on ball, your awake and your listening. I gained the ability to work with everyone in the company and I like working with people I haven't before because they inspire me with what I learn from them. What I have gained most is actually learning from the people around me and just learning, developing and widening my skills and as actor to pressure my skills further. I also learnt that you, you as an individual and actor need to take ownership and full responsibility when performing, you cannot wait for a director to continually due you on or give you your line and with thins you just have to live in every moment of the character, these are some of the key elements I learnt. If you don't bring it, it just won't happen, you need to just be on stage.
Finally, throughout the duration of both performances the audiences response was what spurred us on, we had them in the palm of our hands for the whole time and they worked with us continually. They laughed, had shocked expressions and they seemed to really understand our story line. They maintained their entire focus on our performance and really embraced our immersive theatre. As we finished our performance and they came out they all said well done to us, and congratulated us. They said it was so real and something they could relate to because they could tell we were playing charters of kids so we were all really happy. And we did our goal, we stood a story, performed it and moved them and they seemed really happy.
In conclusion this whole entire experience has been amazing, and something I will never forget. I loved perming a Denise Kelly piece, thought they writing was phenomenal and embraced every minute on stage, the company and directors I worked with were so good and easy to work with, I learn loads from them and wouldn't want to work with anyone else. I have embraced every opportunity of this process, spoke out, had debates and highs and lows but it was all worth it and doing destiny and looking at it was an experience I will never forget, who know s what my destiny may be?!
reflection on performance
Today was show day, it was crunch time and everything we had been working towards within these last six days was all leading down today. It was time to show all the hard work we had been doing and show that we do deserve a place at the Miskin theatre. We started off in the morning as a collective getting bag full of leaves, twigs and this massive long broken tree. Once we put all these earthy lefty stuff it made our immersive environment more fuller and also drew our audience in. From this before we could do anything more we were in our starting positions and in a woods, the audience started to fill the bottom clear part of the white room and it was important not to make eye contact because it showed we were coming out of character and interested in them more than being in the woods.
As we were doing this first performance to level three, I personally believe it was the opening of a really strong piece, we captured the audiences attention in the palm of our hands and were about to move them into our world and let them be apart of the story in which we are going to proceed to tell them. Right from scene 1 because everyone was so nervous and their was adrenaline in the air I believe it actually helped us as actors and it drove us unconditionally throwout the piece to want to do well. Actually reflecting on the scenes and scene 1 from Joe playing John and Alana playing Leah each character was not only strong but for the first time everyone as a whole delivered a performance without their being pauses and people waiting for others to come in. Furthermore this continued throughout the duration of the show. Each actor delivered and even though it was a strong performance all the way through and watching from the outside you could tell the audience was so captured and followed each event happening towards the end their were a few lines missed although the actors around covered really well and the audience didn't even notice and it just carried on. Towards the end of the show and as we walked out following the character of Leah, the audience were really clapping and cheering and as they came out said well done to everyone which was a real positive. Following on from the sI actually spoke to a few of the other actors in level 3 to see if they understand and they did, they got the whole plot and framing so it mean that us as the actors and them as the audience we really spoke out to them and we reached almost goal.
I believe in the first performance and scene 1, mine and Harry’s performance was really strong. stronger than it had ever been before. This because compared to the other rehearsal performances there was a lot of pauses and waiting for one another to finish the sentences rather than just cutting in front of each other. Although suddenly in the first performance it literally all just happened and flowed really well and when we needed to cut off each others sentences we did. For myself i felt like I looked at everyone on stage while portraying this story and also I spoke out to the audience. Furthermore a bonus for me was that I didn't say my lines to quick, nothing was rushed so I felt really happy. It was also lovely be able to do that bit of the piece with Harry because we have never worked with each other before and i was really inspired by him the way he portrayed the character and i think he is a really good actor. I think where i would like to improve and where I felt my weakness lied on this particular performance was that when Harry said his first line I did come in slightly earlier and he did cover well but I knew I went wrong so it was annoying but it almost helped because the ball rolled really well from there.
The audiences response like I said was really positive, they followed the piece really well and came out clapping and congratulating so we achieved our goal to put on a good performance but the directors said it was important not to rest on our high morals and think thats it done on ego need to worry now because it is not like that something could still go wrong.
First show done the second show came. We were feeling positive and really wanted to give 100% in this performance. As we were talking around in the wooded space and the audience started to fill the space the opening was again seriously strong. Each time a different group spoke their hard sharply turned and you could tell that they were fully engaged in what was going on. Although as this piece went on I felt and I think the whole company were disappointed because it was not as strong as the first and throughout the duration of the piece chunks of lines were missed out and also i think where people changed the text slightly and others weren't actually paying their full attention they said the opposite of what the line just said so it is important to listen. Furthermore, because some parts did go wrong people broke out of character and smiled which is the worst thing to do because it means you have just killed what you have created. This piece I and may other company members defiantly believe that it literally flunked before our eyes, I mean the audience were still laughing so much and smiling but I think we were disappointed because we weren't performing to the best of our abilities.
This time round even though we were trying hard Harry did actually go sort of blank and forgot some lines but I did help him and said the next one of my lines and he remembers but it just was not as fluent. We were able to pull through well and covered but it was just annoying. The audience were still really engaged an they said they really liked the story and was really engaged. They were laughing, cheering and really supported the creativity we had performed.
After both shows being completed we were so happy and pleased that we were able to pull of such good shows within six days, although to be honest we were just deflated from the last show, I think we were beating ourselves up a too much and Gavin said that was his favourite show so far and he said he was happy that we though it didn't go great but it was just annoying. Carley and Gavin I believe were happy though and I was. I feel I have learn so much this time round again and took everything from Ways Of Seeing and now going to take everything I have learnt from this process and I am seeing myself turing into an actor and just wanted to show everyone how everyday being part of the Miskin means so much.
Performing DNA by Denise Kelly was absolutely fantastic. It was so so sick. Form first getting it and reading it to completing it I believe we played each character so well. I believe we did it well because they were young people which we could relate too and these sough of things do happen with young people maybe not as bad but as friends we do cover up for each other so it was something we could relate too. I though her writing and the story behind each character which she had created was so cool and it was cool being able to perform a piece which is so powerful and a bit scary because of your framing someone.
I believe my strengths during this process was performing the piece, because that was the first time I had performed a scripted piece at the Miskin. Although also learning that their is a lot more to script work than just learning an performing it, you need to be that character, never kill what you have created their are so many tools and techniques I can take from this process and use for another time. Also I personally believe I achieved my goal of being able to perform my lines slower and at a reasonable pace because otherwise the audience just loose track and don't understand.
My weakness though were that i was just annoyed at the last performance because I felt I didn't perform to the best of my abilities so I felt that was a let down and also being 5 minutes late on show day. I should not have been late and that won't happen again.
From this process I think as a company we realised how lucky we were to have each other and also what a nice small company we have and we defiantly appreciate all being together and look out for each other. We are defiantly a family now.
weekly for 30th to 4th of Nov
This week there is not really much to say only that we have just been rehearsing and rehearsing our piece and just coming and exploring our characters and new ways we can improve it an piece it together. We actually on Tuesday got given 10 character questions to answer to get a better background o four character and any fidgets she or he might have to make the character more real. Furthermore, discussing it with the different Jan’s for example made me personally learn more about the character myself and how they approached the character.
From this we then interviewed each other so all three Jan’s took turns to interview each other and asked each other different questions but putting each other under pressure like we did with Carly and it was nice watching the different Jan’s being questioned because they approached the questions different and their reactions and posture were different so it I picked up on things which could help me improve. So we have mostly worked on our characters and piece this week and also created out atmosphere by filling the white room with all leaves creating immersive theatre, the audience entering our world and it helped piece the play together breaches it meant we could begin to stage our piece.
we will continue to piece it together and will be staying a bit later next week I believe.

Daily account of today’s rehearsal
In todays rehearsal in the morning, we did an intense focus exercise with Carley. It involved us learning more about our character and seeing it from different point of views for example us imagining that it was us dyeing and not Adam.
It started with us stating in neural with out eyes closed and looking into a mirror. We were imagining we could see our character and we were imitating what they were doing and doing how we could see they were reacting to things. For example, we were told imagine your character was waving at you to anyone, we had to imitate that and do what they were doing. My character waved different to how I would normally because my character moved her fingers a lot where as I don't normally move my fingers so it was different. We also had to imagine picking up a rock and throwing it at Adam, just kept throwing it as a joke and it felt weird actually participating and imagining been their at that time and it felt funny to start of with unit we could see him fall off and cut his head. You suddenly looked around hoping that it wasn't you that threw that rock. Seeing him fall though you realise how its suddenly not funny nay more. Its scary and my body language in my character to being very cold and dark in the woods and within a few seconds you were involved in this murder mystery.
I never saw it from Adam’s side before and what he may actually be feeling in the piece so that helped create an emotional side to my character and I learn that she does know right from wrong and it felt hard to connect to these emotions because she had created a wall and blocked all these emotions out so she doesn't get hurt again but it was nice of her to let these out.
I also learn how reliable people are on Phil to come up with a plan of what to do next because if they didn't have him then they probably would be fucked.
I believe I learnt a lot more about the story after we had a discussion on how everyone felt, and I believe that there is a lot more that meets the eye with this piece, they were kids messing about but you realise in the story and real life what it is actually like when you take something too far and what that you have to almost cover your tracks and live with that guilt for the rest of you life. You may think you have moved on but being part of something horrific may be fine, covered it up not involved but I learnt from this story it does effect you these characters put a brave face on but inside they are suffering.
Also learnt about acting that the best actors accept:
different racers, gays, lesbians, fat people, small people, tall people everyone they may not agree but they accept they are the best actors.
1. What does your character like/dislike about people? she does not like when people snake her out or grass her out and she gets in trouble because it means she can't trust people.
2. What is your character’s favourite food? Defiantly Chinese food, because when she gets it with her dad when he is actually around it is both their favourite food and a real treat also it alway lasts a few days so nothing is ever wasted.
3. What is your character’s real birth name? Jan Claire Fox
4. What one word best describes your character? defiantly sassy and little bit cheeky
5. Where does your character live? She lives in Dartford at her dads home because her mum in in Rehab for doing drugs and well she stays at her dads but he is hardly ever home so spends a lot of time with her friends and supports herself.
6. What was your character’s parents’ relationship like? again Not very good, because her mum in in Rehab for doing drugs and well she stays at her dads but he is hardly ever home so spends a lot of time with her friends and supports herself.
7. Does your character have siblings? No she is an only child she does not have a lot of family.
8. When was the last time your character saw any member of their family? She docent due to the fact it is a touchy topic which she doesn't really like to mention.
9. What is your character’s first memory? My mum dad and my character all being under the same roof, happy, normal. Mum and dad happily married an nothing bad had happened.
10. Who is your character’s best friend? My friend called Mark, we are really close and we do everything together.
11. What annoys your character more than anything else? again she dosen’t like people snaking her out intact she hates that she also hates taking responsibility for what she has done and getting caught for it the would rather someone else get in trouble.
12. How far will your character go to achieve their goals? My character will do anything to achieve their goal, if they have their mind on something then they are determined and driven to get that even of she may get in trouble but will do everything also not to get caught.
13. What is one thing your character dislikes about them self? her figure, she gets very insurer of rio reason because she is pretty but in her mind she is not and that is there she lacks confident in her weight.
14. What one act in your character’s past are they most ashamed of? Making fun of people and then taking it to another level
15. Is your character a better leader or a follower and why? I believe a follower she keeps her head down but gets away with a lot for example the shop lifting and getting away with teasing Adam. She works with people but is never the leader because docent want to get the blame.
16. What is the thing that has frightened your character the most? Getting in trouble or taken away by the police, she doesn't want to get in trouble.
17. Does your character have any bad habits? shop lifting, some people bite their nails, some people fidget but her habit is to sop lifting.
18. Does your character believe in fate? No she does not. She dosen’t because in her life she probably thinks nothing is meant to be, for example her parents that has caused her unhappiness an also now this, but I don't actually know what fait it.
19. What are your character’s immediate goals? I believe her goal is to get through this for this whole situation with Adam for it to quickly blow over and stop getting questioned by the police because it is scary stuff and she docent want to get in trouble.
20. What are your character’s long-term goals? For her to continue to trust and be along side her best friend mark and them support each other through life. Also her to learn from this and learn from mistakes and keep out of trouble even though she docent mean to.
DAILY ACCOUT
Daily account for 30th of December
Today started off by a company vocal, focus and fitness warm up lead by Ryan, Joe and Alfie. We were given 20 to 25 minutes by Carly to do these warm ups and get fully warmed up and energized.
Following on from this we then exercise with Carly where we stood as ourselves and imagined ourselves facing our front door, entering our home and just looking in each of the rooms, going upstairs, into each room basically looking all over. From this we then had to imagine that we had killed someone or been involved in an incident where someone had died and we had to tell our family. We had to tell our family, or just one of our family members and someone we wouldn’t like to tell. I would have told my mum because I know she would have not shouted but tried to stay calm but would never have told my dad because his reaction would be so scary and something I could never explain. While doing this particular exercise it made me have a sickly feeling, because I couldn’t ever imagine being apart of something like that or even having to tell it to my family, I would hate them to be disappointed in me because I believe that’s worse than shouting.
We then did an exercise where we were put into 2 groups and Harry and me had to interview Harry and Alfie we were interrogating and messing with them basically to lie under pressure. It started of calm but as quickly escalated and as it started to get more heated their stories started to change and almost had to lie your self out of a lie. Harry said he felt isolated and alone because due to the fact that so many questions were being fired at him.
Although all this does have everything to do with the piece because it shows how quickly you can get yourself in trouble and that by the group of people just playing with Adam even though it starts off as a joke it actually escalates quickly and leads to his death. Furthermore, how your DNA can end up anywhere and when you throw DNA in the mix you are automatically pinned to a crime you may or may not have committed and that Phil comes up with this identify on spot. It could be an innocent man but if involved that mans DNA he is involved.
In the afternoon we then looked at DNA and got given the characters we actually auditioned for. I found it really good getting cast and enjoyable. The part I received was Jan who I am really happy with. At first I was shocked because didn’t audition for her or was in of my top but I actually really like her, she seems cool and I’m looking to learning more about her character this week. There are actually three Jan’s and from talking to them and discussing this character we learnt that Jan and Mark are always together, they are always plotting things and think she is not trying to get arrested because it is her and Mark’s fault. We also did a full read though as a company, one group did scene 1, another 2 and finally last 3 it gave us a chance to see how the other Jan’s approached the character and I learnt things from them, although the energy because tired this afternoon because we had a big day today getting all this new information but it was good. At first I really didn’t understand the piece or get it but I feel like I know more about it now and understand it more but I am feeling very positive and looking forward to the rest of the week.
Today was okay for me as an actor although today I did get majorly distracted as kept talking and not focused so must not make sure I don’t get back to in old habits so I wont make sure this happened again but apart from that I do think I worked well and defiantly moved forward with the piece.
Character choices
My first choice would would be Leah, I liked her character because she seemed really crazy and in her own world and she seemed really intriguing though so would like the ability to explore her character more. My second choice would be Lou because I felt like I could really relate to her character because she comes across as v straight up and Tom boy ish so she seems cool!

Weekly for 23rd to 27th of November
This week in drama we have continued to look at destiny and also pursued with the scripted work.
On Monday afternoon I was not present due to the fact I had doctors which won’t happen again although I found out from Clemmie that everyone got paired up and was filmed while performing a play called DNA and that this could be a strong possibly that we would be working with this play. Following on from this scripted work, in Tuesday’s worksop with Gavin we looked at the Little revolution script. We got into the pairs we were originally assigned with and firstly a group of 12 with six pairs performed some Immersive Theatre. This being where it brings the audience into their world, we went outside and then when we came back in the whole atmosphere suddenly changed. You could really feel what the characters were feeling, it was very intense. What ever they performed though they were handing it over to the character and I though it was really cool because they totally portray the Hackney environment and street language. For example, The bling girls were Kia and Lauren when they performed toy were so engaged in what they were doing, they were both had attitude, brought it to life and not reading into the script and Kia also came right up to the audience. I though they portrayed their characters really well. Then in the afternoon we had this new director called Scott come in and work with us now I actually missed a lot of this workshop because we had a maths test annoyingly then once we did finish our test and came in we had to leave again because we had to sign some papers to say that it was our work so it was a shame I didn’t get the chance to perform in front of him but hopefully from what he did see when doing this one direction given he saw my abilities as an actor but he did seem really cool and creative and could you could tell he could see potential so just got to wait and see! So earlier in the week Gavin mentioned doing an Insanity on the Wednesday morning. Its funny how quickly this Wednesday seemed to come around, although to be honest I do really enjoy these workouts and me and Lucy were both saying this is because it is a chance for us and me personally to see how far I can push myself and just keep going. Even though it does get really hard we kept cheering each other on and keep telling each other to pursue with it because at the end you do feel so good and feel like you have accomplished something. My body today though is killing me, i am at working and literally every movement seems to be a serious struggle! He also said that after we finished we would be tired in this afternoon’s workshop so it was really important to eat some bananas and get some energy in us because if we just eat crisps and chocolate it will give us energy for perhaps 5 minutes then we will become really tiered. In the afternoon though we started off by being put into groups of three, and had to number ourselves 1,2 and 3. The main objective and purpose of this was that number 1 said a line and did a movement and then 2 and 3 had to comply copy that and transform themselves into me or who ever spoke. Now because I was number 1 I went first and my line was ‘ello, I could kill for a nandos right now’ snd because I walked on my left leg first they had to do it to. It was like a ripple effect but we were doing it all at the same time. You had to commit to this and comply portray their every movement, tone of voice and if hands were spread apart then you spend those lil fingers! Then Lauren and Millie did their lines and we didn’t think of anything really while performing other than that person and just being them. On the other hand though, watching everyone else it was so wired, literally you know when you get a line of robots all talking at the same time and just the same, well it was like that it was seriously clever but a bit scary being literally people just got it down to the finger tip and everyone was focused and really kept straight faces. This has defiantly been one of my favourites so far, it was just uh do you know I can’t even explain it was so sick. From doing this we then worked with Carley as well as Gavin and she came in and presented us with some DNA scripts but different scenes. She suddenly began to hand out roles and I just took the first girl character she names which was Louise. We were in different groups but had the same play although just different scene so we had to sort of piece it together although it was hard because we got told the most important questions we had to ask ourselves were:
What do you know inside of the piece
what do yo think you know inside of the piece
what would yo like to know more of
Now I’m going to discuss all our thoughts and answers to these questions in a separate essay which we got set but my all I’m going to say is that as soon as we got an overall idea it would suddenly changes and left us frazzled and that was it for this week, we did a lot and I’m still enjoying myself everyday and still grateful for being at the Miskin and I continually want to prove that so I can stay next year!
Strengths and Weakness
: - I believe as a company our weakness for this week were stronger that our strengths. The weakness were that people keep missing days or coming in late which restricts our time as a company and creating work because people are missing so we need to make sure that it does not happen next week. : - Also the lack of respect, so throughout the duration of Wednesdays rehearsal while gavin kept trying to explain or give a direction people would not respect him or each other and kept having their own conversations and it meant that he kept stop starting and it was frustration for the people who wanted to move on. so we also need to make sure it stops asap! : - I believe our one strength this week was the Insanity and every one supporting and cheering each other on and giving them the motivation to push through to the end. That was not only nice but also supporting the fellow actors within the company which made it more enjoyable. : - For me personally I believe my weakness for this week and my down fort was telling Carly 10 minutes before that I need to leave not only was that rude and totally wrong but it doesn’t work like that i am still beating myself up about it. It won’t happen again but should not have happened in the first place! My strengths were i believe leading my fitness warmup on the Monday morning, I believe it went really well and everyone was sweating and working hard so it gives my the motivation to want to do it again and that was a positive!
What we think/ know want to know more of
DNA When my group had finish reading through this piece and discussed it we realised that... We know... The character of Phil is planning to frame someone else for the order and explains that in his monologue. We also know that Cathy is not involved but she is aware of what has happened and now is part of framing the plot. We know it is set in the woods because it says that right at the start of the piece. Also we know that Bryan lets the group of people do stuff to him because he is he's cool hanging out with them but this group of people think it is a funny joke until they take it to far and when Bryan is walking on the grill he is hit in the head with a rock and falls to his death. So trying to cram Phil for the murder. We think we know that... They go to the same school and also that thy are all friends just because of the way the text is set out and by the way they talk to each other. We want to know... 🔸Why does Richard hate Bryan? 🔸 why is John in charge of everything? 🔸 why do they all hate Adam so much? I think it is a really good piece though, at first didn't really understand it but now I do and it is something we can all relate to because they all seem to come across at young so it will give us the ability to portray it in a string character way. We learnt that it does relate to destiny and does lead to destiny because it all comes down to this pinnacle point. If the people went mean to Adam then they would not have to be framing someone else or even be in this murder mystery. Some may think they are messing with destiny or what happens to the post man and framing him to get him arrested?!!
