Phospher: The main antagonist and where a lot of this freak originates. Was given mind-control powers through an ancient deity and immediately used it to try to go out with a girl he liked. When that failed he decided screw it, I can use these powers to fuck any girl I see and she'd never even know. So that's what he did! For decades. Is actually some weird distorted goopy monster after the years of his powers distorting his form, but keeps up his illusionary human form 99% of the time because he likes to look pretty. While he takes advantage of basically any woman he sees, he at least has the decency to erase their memories after the deed is done, so no one ever knows he's doing this.

Fell in love with Elpis on sight, even moreso after she proved difficult to control, and is now trying to hunt her down like a prize to be won. He doesn't know why. He just needs her to be his.

Hired Chell to work for him on a whim and ended up becoming very attached as time went on. He's not used to people reciprocating. And she's always been so kind. And eager. Very, very, eager.

Elpis: The main character of the story. Is immune to Phospher's control because she's possessed by a similar but opposite ancient deity, and so she's destined to spend her life trying to find a way to kill him before he can harm anyone else. Is actually demiromantic, and doesnt understand what all the fuss is about with the kissing and the sex. Who give a shit fr. Though she participates when it's fun, really she has better things to do. Like killing Phospher. And accidentally kickstarting a rebellion against the corrupt government that allowed him to remain in power for so long despite only being a salesman. Yknow. Normal stuff.

HATES Phospher, and though she's immune to his control, she has at least at one point in time been manipulated by him. This has allowed a thread of his influence to linger in her mind that he can cash in if he's careful. Though she only gets Controlled by him maybe 2 or 3 times, I'm constantly drawing it happening anyway because she's the most beautiful woman alive.

Is best friends with Chell, or at least she was before Chell left to work for Phospher. The two were childhood besties, to the point where Chell was the only person Ellie trusted to practice her kissing with. Just to see what all the fuss was about. Broke up with her after a week cause she didn't think there was a difference in their relationship.

Chell: The funny little side character no one was supposed to look at. Dragged Ellie into this mess because she was too scared to meet Phospher alone. After he dedicated himself to hunting Ellie down, Chell was his connection to her. Every time Elpis escaped his grasp, he would take out his frustrations on Chell instead. Little did he know that constant exposure to Ellie's own control made Chell semi-immune. And he didn't know because Chell loves it. Will actively pretend to be under his Control just so that he thinks he can do whatever he wants with her. It makes her feel special. It makes her feel loved. And when she finally brings herself to admit this to him, the two actually manage to become much closer than either of them expected to be. It almost lets her forget about Ellie. Almost.

Is OBSESSED with Phospher after seeing him on TV and had a huge parasocial crush on him. The first time he manipulated her into kissing him, she was more thrilled than afraid. She never lets anyone know she's a freak.
