ah thank you so much!! and absolutely, I've been meaning to do one like this for awhile now <3
here is . . .
Beyond Our Hearts | Harry Potter
Harry Potter x fem! reader
Summary! In which during the battle of Hogwarts, Y/N L/N has a strange vision of her boyfriends parents while fighting for her life.
Warnings / Content! y/n on the verge of dying, mentions of death and passing, a worried harry but majorly fluff besides that.
It all happened so quickly.
From throwing as many spells as she possibly could at opposing death eaters to having the world go pitch black, Y/N L/N's life had flashed before her eyes like a bolt of lightning.
She had awoken in a room of nothing but pure light. Looking around the room seemed to shift, one moment nothing but white to the Gryffindor common room, the forest of Dean, the great hall during the Yule ball, it configured itself to places she had known too well.
And as vast as it had originally happened, it had become grimly clear to Y/N what was going on.
"I'm dead," Y/N's voice was a bare breath, as light as a feather but weighted with nothing but despair.
The second those words had escaped her lips her mind had only thought of one thing.
Harry.
How's Harry? Would he be joining me? Does he know? The thoughts were drowning her.
"I've died," She repeated. She felt her eyes begin to water. This couldn't be the end could it? She was barely eighteen this was supposed to be where life truly began, not where it ends.
"Not exactly."
The voice made Y/N jump, the room had changed once more at the action. Now it had set the scenery at an oddly familiar place. It took a moment but Y/N had realized where she had seen it before. It was the Potter's house.
And when she turned around to find the voice that had spoken to her, she was met with the two former occupants.
No way.
Y/N believed she must've gone mad.
She had only ever seen them in pictures and visualized them through Harry's descriptions but it was clear as day who they were.
James and Lily.
Harry's parents stood before her.
Y/N swore she felt her heart stop.
"This isn't death, not yet at least." Lily had spoken, her hand clasped around her husbands. "More so of a limbo, a place between life and death."
"I didn't think we'd be getting to meet so soon, Y/N." James had smiled.
Y/N's mouth had opened but no words had come out. Pure shock was all she had felt in the moment.
"I understand the shock, I've been told even in the afterlife i'm devilishly handsome." James grinned, which earned him a light hit on the shoulder from his wife.
Y/N laughed.
"It's alright to be shocked," Lily said soothingly, she had something so comforting about her that made Y/N feel safe. "Meeting the passed parents of your partner doesn't happen everyday."
"I- I just find this all so hard to believe," Y/N had gotten out through a dry throat.
"And that's perfectly fine." James consoled, "What isn't fine is us having to meet you so soon. I mean you're a lovely girl, Y/N, but you shouldn't be here."
"Wait so does that mean-"
"You can go back to the land of the living?" Lily finished, "Yes."
Y/N had let out a happy breath she hadn't known she was holding. She could go home. She could go back to Harry.
"But before you go back," James said, "There's a reason you're here, with us."
Y/N furrowed her brows, only to relax them moments later. It was strange to have them be the ones to find her in her almost death.
"As of right now Harry had given himself up to Voldemort-"
Y/N's happy heart had faltered. "What?! He's not, he can't-"
"He's alright, Y/N." Lily smiled, "He's alive and well, in fact looking for you. The battle is over."
Y/N let out a sigh of relief. It was all over. Harry was safe.
"Though while giving himself up he was struck with the killing curse." James had told, "And in his last moment, his last thought, was you." James and Lily shared a smile, "We hadn't known at the time of you're arrival here but we both hoped that one day, when you got here, we'd meet you for that reason."
Y/N's mouth went slightly ajar. She was feeling too many things at one time to fully find one to express.
"We've seen you two over the years," Lily confessed to the L/N girl, catching her attention again. "All of the ups and downs, the good and the bad and you two have held together through it all. He cares for you in ways that astonish me. The love he holds for you is one that only the books seem to have."
"The way he looks at you is a way I thought only I could have, when I looked at Lily of course." James interjected for a moment, lightly squeezing Lily's hand.
"A look of pure and unconditional love." Lily smiled. "Harry deserves nothing but that. We never thought we'd be thanking you for giving him that this soon, but this was a chance we figured we'd take."
Lily had let go of James's hand and walked towards Y/N, Y/N had stayed still as she had approached her. Dead and yet so alive at the same time. It was wonderous.
"You have given him nothing but the love he deserves. You've cared for him and looked after him like no other, Y/N. We obviously haven't been around to do that and as much as that may always hurt, it's incredible to know that he has you." Lily expressed to her. "I can speak for both James and I when I say we're so, so grateful you've been there for our Harry. You've given him something so incredible, you've given him a reason to keep going and that's more than we ever could've asked for."
"The world was all we ever wanted for Harry," James spoke, "And though he may never get all of that, you've given him more of that than I thought was possible. I'm thankful he has you to lean on, you to love."
Y/N hadn't expected any of this, she hadn't expected to meet the parents of the boy she had loved so much, stand before them in a place between the living and the dead, but in the moment she couldn't find anywhere else she'd prefer to be besides with Harry himself.
"Now," Lily spoke again, sorrow in her tone. "Harry has just found your body in the living side of the world. And as much as I'd like to continue to thank you for all you've done for our boy, I don't want him to go through so much distress in finding you in this state."
Y/N felt a pang of sadness, she wanted to stay for a little longer, this was too short for her liking. But she belonged with the living, she belonged to live besides Harry and celebrate the end of the a lifelong war.
"Thank you," Y/N spoke, "For having such an amazing boy. Thank you for approving of me."
"Thank you for giving him what we couldn't." James grinned.
"I hope to continue this someday in the far, far future," Lily said softly, "Until then, continue giving our boy the love he deserves."
"I promise to never stop," Y/N assured them happily.
She was met with a joyous nod from James and an even brighter smile from Lily.
And then she awoke.
She was back at Hogwarts, her face covered in soot and dirt. Harry leaning over her.
"Y/N!" He exclaimed, relieved, he seemed to have been doing cpr on her. He embraced her quickly, "I was so worried, oh my love, I'm so happy you're alright."
Y/N had still barely processed the interaction she just had but Harry's hug, his presence in general was enough to wash anything away.
"It's over," He confessed to her, "It's all over, darling."
She couldn't imagine a more blissful feeling. Harry Potter was her happiness, her calm after the storm, it didn't matter what happened next for the two of them.
She was going to keep her promise to Lily and keep loving him, with every star in the galaxy, with every fiber of her being, she knew she'd never stop.
And one day, someday, she'd get to tell them she lived up to it.
warnings: just fluff, possibly obsessed harry, mentions of things like cuts/gashes and bruises, kissing
summary: you are a healer in training, one year older than harry, he keeps getting injured while you keep healing him. you start to wonder if he does it on purpose, to which you find your suspicions to be correct - requested by @ashdreams2023
a/n: i absolutely adore this idea!! thank you for sending it love xx (i also didn't know what age you wanted so i just made her a 7th year and him a 6th, hope that's ok :)
song: love me love me say that you love me - the travelling kisses
Harry knew he was done for when he first laid eyes on you in the infirmary.
He had gotten injured during one of his Quidditch matches. He had taken a nasty hit from a bludger.
When he arrived, he figured Madam Pomfrey would be the one to heal him as usual.
However, it was a pleasant surprise when he heard a soft voice and looked up to see a beautiful girl standing before him.
So beautiful that he had to take of his glasses and wipe them clean to make sure he was seeing correctly.
You were oblivious to his dreamy gaze as you scanned over his papers.
"Hello, Mr. Potter-"
"Harry, call me Harry," he quickly says.
"Okay Harry, I'm y/n," you smile at him.
"Pretty name for a pretty girl," he whispers under his breath.
"Sorry?"
"Oh- um- nothing," Harry blushes.
"Alright, well it seems that your shoulder had been broken. But don't worry, I'll be able to fix it right up in no time," you explain.
You take out your wand and some ointments.
You say some different spells for fixing any broken or cracked bones.
"Do you mind sliding your shirt down just a bit so I can rub this on the bruses?"
"N-no not at all," he stutters and slides it down.
"You are new here? In the hospital wing I mean," he asks as you rub the medicine on him.
"Mhm- well, not that new. I've been here for almost two months. But I want to be a healer when I get out of here, so some of my professors thought it would be helpful if I worked here first," you clarify.
"Oh, well that's brilliant if you ask me!"
"Thank you," you grin.
"What year are you?"
"I'm a seventh year, you're a sixth year right?"
"Yeah," he nods.
"Merlin Ron, you should have seen her," he dramatically sighs.
"Harry, stop being all lovey-dovey," he wacks his best mate in the back of the head.
"But you don't understand. Her hair looks so soft- I think I'm in love," he falls back onto his bed.
"Blimey," Ron shakes his head.
When they went to dinner that night, he let his eyes roam the Great Hall in search for you.
Finally, his eyes landed on your angelic figure as you talked with some of your friends.
He hadn't realized he had been staring until he felt Hermione hit his arm with a book.
"Gosh Harry, I think your drooling," she rolls her eyes and goes back to reading.
He quickly brings his hand up to his mouth to check if Hermione was right. When he realized she was just messing with him he shakes his head and puts it on his hand, resting his elbow on the table.
"Harry, you only talked to her for like ten minutes," Ron glances at you.
"Yeah but it was the best ten minute conversation of my life," he runs a hand through his hair.
Since that day, Harry had purposely gotten injured from things like Quidditch, dueling, and any other things he could think of.
Why he did this, just so he can be sent to the infirmary to see you.
You had thought he showed up often because he was just a clumsy boy.
Over the visits you have grown to know each other well. You had become somewhat close.
Whenever Ron or Hermione told him that he should stop, he brushed it off by saying, "she's a pretty girl and a guy has got to do what hes got to do!"
He loved when you would have to rub any type of liniment on him, just to feel your warm and soft hands on his skin.
While you were busy writing things down, he would stare at your precious, pink, plump lips. He begged Merlin to one day be able to kiss those lips. He often dreamt about what it would be like as your boyfriend.
Today was another day where he had been hit with a spell that caused some gashes on his stomach.
He was laying in bed, waiting for his lovely healer to come in.
Soon enough, he sees you stroll through the doors as you make your way over to his bed.
"Harry Potter! What brings you here today," you greet with a bright smile playing on your lips.
"Hello, love, just some cuts on my stomach," he informs you.
You blush at the name and nod your head.
"Do you mind lifting your shirt for me?"
He happily complies and brings up his shirt, revealing his toned stomach to you. You tried your best not to look like you were checking him out, you were also glad no one else was in the room to notice.
"Oh Harry what happened," you gasp as your eyes land on the bloody wounds.
"Oh- uh- I was hit with a spell," he tells you.
"I'm sorry," you frown.
"No need to apologize"
"This might hurt a bit," you warn him as you get a medicine covered cloth to clean the injury.
You finish wiping his cuts and put a bandage over them. You sit in the chair that was next to his bed and look at him.
"You know, you come here at least twice a week," you start as he stares at your pretty eyes. "Is there any reason you are always getting hurt?"
"Oh- er, no, um..." Harry rubs his neck nervously as he suddenly avoids eye contact with you.
"You... you're not getting injured on purpose are you?"
"What?" Harry laughs nervously. "Of course not!"
Realization fills your head, it all makes sense now. Your friends told you he was always admiring you in the Great Hall, he always had a pink blush on his cheeks when you would look at him intensely, and you had heard him ranting to his friends over some girl.
You stand up and sit on the bed. "Are you sure there isn't another reason?"
"Well- umm- maybe there is one," he fidgets with fingers as he looks out the window.
"Yeah? And what would that reason be?"
"Isortakindafancyyou," he rushes out so fast you couldn't understand.
"I have no clue what you just said," you tilt your head with a small smile.
"I sorta kinda fancy you," Harry blushes as he looks you in your eyes.
"Do you now," you whisper as your face moves closer to his.
"Y-yeah," he mumbles while staring as you lips.
"Well, then I suppose you might want to know that I sorta kinda fancy you too," you say, glancing at his lips as well.
He can't take it any longer. He reaches a hand behind your neck and pulls your lips towards his.
He sits up while keeping your mouths connected. He cannot seem to get enough of your warm, soft lips.
His tongue slides into your mouth and you almost let out a moan from how passionate the kiss is.
Eventually, you slowly pull back, leaving his mouth trying to follow yours. Both of you are breathing heavy while wearing smiles.
"You are a great kisser," Harry says breathlessly.
"Not too bad yourself, Harry," you grin. "I'm sorry, I have to go, but we should do this again sometime," you stand up and go to turn around.
"Wait," he stays and he grabs your wrist gently. "Would you want to go to Hogsmeade with me sometime?" Harry kisses your hand.
"I would love to," you beam, bending down to peck his lips.
"Brilliant! How about this saturday?"
"Sounds perfect, bye Harry," you wave walking out of the room.
Harry licks his lips, wishing yours were on them again. He closes his eyes and falls back onto the pillows with a dreamy smile.
When Harry got back, Ron and Hermione never heard the end of it.
Warnings: fluff, rivals to lovers, idiots in denial that theyâre in love, Harry being stupid bc why not
Pairing: Harry James Potter x reader
Authorâs Notes: idk I just felt a little silly đ¤ˇââď¸
Summary: Harry canât seem to keep his mouth shut around Y/n
Harry and Y/n never really got along. Why? Godric knows. Itâs been going on for as long as anybody could remember to the point that the origins often varied amongst everybody.
âOh! It was because Harry accidentally hexed her hair to be snakes.â
âItâs because she struck him by lightning to match his scar.â
âHe got a bludger thrown at her during one of their quidditch practices!â
âShe dressed up as you know who for a costume party once!â
None of those reasons were the actual origin of their feud, though they were actual events that had occurred.
The irony was that they shouldâve gotten along perfectly well together on paper, both being in Gryffindor, both on the quidditch team, both hated by Snape (though Snape hated almost everybody except for green eyes redhead Gryffindor girls) and they both had many mutual friends between them.
They were just constantly at each others throats, it was like it was a game for the two. They definitely did always argue with a wide smile on their face.
Take today for example, it was quidditch practice and like usual, they were arguing.
âPotter, I swear to Merlin Iâll bat this bludger at you!â Y/n pointed her bat threateningly at him. The rest of the team had learnt to ignore them at that point, learning that they just work better motivated by their frustration at each other.
Harry just threw his arms up, âdo it, l/nďżźďżź, we all know itâs an empty threat anyways because youâll miss my face again.â
She gave him a scandalised look, âagain?! Who said I ever missed your face, scarhead?â
âRon! The last time I went to the hospital wing.â Harry grinned triumphantly as she glared at Ron at his spot by the goal to which he just observed the sky with mild interest.
âDo you know how vague that is? Youâre in the hospital every other day, attention whore.â She huffed and crossed her arms.
It was then that they got shouted at by Wood to actually partake in practice to which they finally listened.
After practice where everyone was going to the changing rooms, Harry trailed after her and spoke in a sing song voice behind Y/n, âyou missed me.â
She turned around with a light scowl on her face, âshut it Harold.â
He had his stupid smirk on his face that often found itâs way there when he was around there as he stepped closer to her, she stayed still, âoh yeah? Make me.â
His emerald eyes flitted to her lips and she felt her heartbeat pick up at the decreasing amount of personal space between them, âbet.â
His smile widened at her response but not for long as she pulled out her wand and wordlessly did a spell to seal his mouth shut.
In a moment of pure panic she just rushed into the changing room, did i seriously just hex a boy after almost kissing him?
As anybody would after hexing a persons mouth shut after almost kissing them, Y/n avoided Harry. Dodging him in hallways, quite literally jumping into random classrooms (though that was a one time thing after seeing a couple of seventh years exchanging spit in there).
Later in the common room, she was curled up in the corner with her knees to her chest, reading a book to calm her nerves, while also covering her face with said book.
This half assed disguise clearly did nothing for her because Ron sat right on the chair next to her.
âY/n! My dorm now!â
She gave him an indignant look, âRonnil Wazlib! Me and you need to have words about what you spilled to Harold you little rat!â
Ron just shook his head at her exasperatedly.
âDonât shake your head at me like Iâm your nan with dementia, I will tell âmione about your undying love for her!â
His eyes widened and he clasped a hand over her mouth, âjust shut up and go up to my dorm.â
She threw her hands up in surrender and got up to go to his dorm, she walked into his dorm first and as soon as she turned to ask him what he wanted to talk about, the door shut in her face, she tried to open it but it was locked. She tried to magically unlock it, but it didnât work.
Her blood ran cold when she realised her mistake, Harold.
She turned to see him sitting on his bed and he wordlessly patted the spot next to him.
She furrowed her brows but listened all the same as she sat down next to him, âthatâs a little too much effort to just talk to me, Potter, just say you love me at this point.â
He gave her a deadpan stare and she then realised he was still hexed so she pulled out her wand and undid it. She gave him an apologetic look.
âWhy did he try so hard to get me in here with you?â She asked curiously.
Harry seemed to contemplate what he was gonna say before he finally said, âwell Iâm not gonna say Iâm in love with you but I can say that I like you. A lot actually.â
She gave him an incredulous look, âExcusĂŠ moi?â
He just nodded, âyouâre brilliant and beautiful and smart and funny and I like you. And I think- no I know you like me too.â
She furrowed her brows, âhow can you be so sure about that?â
He pushed a stray piece of hair out of her face and kept his hand cupping the side of her face, âbecause I know you.â
For once she didnât argue against him and when he leaned in this time, she let their lips touch and she melted into the kiss. His lips were soft against hers and although they spent years with such animosity towards each other, it seemed to now just turn into blind affection as they naturally sank into each others arms.
When they pulled away with soft smiles still on each others faces, she spoke, âand you tried to get on my case for missing you in the hospital wing?â
Harryâs face lit up even more if that was possible, âso you did miss me!â
She rolled her eyes, âthat was not new knowledge, get over it!â
He laughed and she decided to shut him up for the second time that day, except not with magic this time, but with another kiss.
It was then that Ron decided to burst in to the room, âhave you guys killed each other ye- Merlin!â
He gasped at them as they jumped apart from each other. Harry looking proud while y/n looked slightly ashamed.
She threw a pillow at him as he ran off shouting for everyone saying he had money to collect.

hii! I love love loveee ur harry fic. can I request a modern au where harry and fem reader are both famous actors, they get paired up to do a movie where they have to do a s3x scene, and things get pretty heated off set as well ~
hi! thank you so much for requesting, i really enjoyed writing this! i hope you like it!
pairing: harry james potter x fem!reader AU (18+)
summary: you're filming your first romance movie that features a sex scene with harry potter (early 20's), an actor you've only ever seen on the big screen. despite both of your nerves, a growing chemistry between you two leads to something more in the dressing room.
word count: 8.7k (i can't write short blurbs i swear lol)
you were currently sitting in the hair and makeup chair chatting with the stylist about each other's respective careers, laughing and messing around before your official call time. you always went out of your way to talk to the crew on any set you worked, not just to be respectful, but also to make everyone comfortable around you right away.
it was a little hard to grasp from your perspective as you were only thrust into the spotlight a few years ago, but you were in enough successful movies that you were now pretty recognizable to most people. not that long ago you were just like everyone else, a fan of celebrities yourself who went to premiers and fawned over meeting them. today, those same people are technically your coworkers. it's something you're still learning to accept as your new normal.
that being the case, it was easy for people to feel a bit intimidated by you. you were well-liked, by both fans and people in the industry, and already highly-acclaimed with quite a few notable awards/nominations under your belt in just a couple years. and while you took your acting seriously, in your real life you were very different from the stoic characters you played. funny, warm, personable, always trying to lighten the mood - you were a pleasure to work with in every sense, so the intimidating preconception people had of you would quickly melt away.
"wow, jen, it must be so cool being able to work with so many celebrities all around the world," you sighed. the stylist, jenny, gives you a bewildered look in the reflection of the mirror. "well, you do that too y'know? you're one of those celebrities that people will ask me, 'oh my god, what's she like?'" she laughs at you, finishing up the final details of your hair.
you give her a half smile, feeling a blush rise on your cheeks. "okay, well, i guessâŚbut it's not the same. i'd love to travel as much as you do. i know it's for work, but i'm sure you get to see some pretty incredible places," you gush. jenny smiles back at you.
"i do, it's nice and all, but you get to be on the big screen with some pretty handsome faces," she teases. "i mean, that movie with timothee you just did?" she practically moans. "i would do anything for that boy," she laughs.
your blush only worsens. being a young woman in the industry you're very often paired with actors around your age, almost always men, to have a romance plot line with. it seems like no matter how artistic, action-packed, or sad the movie is, they just can't let you leave without having you makeout with said actor at least a million times before getting 1 good take. after a while it becomes so routine that it loses all novelty. kissing becomes meaningless and these 'heartthrobs' just become coworkers to you.
"please, timothee's like my brother at this point," you roll your eyes, pulling out your phone to check the time. just a few more minutes before you have to leave and be on set. "and i'd much rather do his makeup than makeout with him in front of everyone again," you laugh, putting your phone back in your pocket.
"well, y'know, i was doing the potter boy's makeup just before i came in. wouldn't mind making out with him a few times, lucky duck," she teases you, starting to pack up her equipment.
harry potter. the name was familiar to you. he was an actor around your age who started getting more roles at the same time you did. you always seemed to miss each other at award shows and premiers, so you haven't been properly introduced yet, but you had been somewhat excited to work with him on this movie.
it was your first proper romance, a book adaptation that you had actually read just a few years prior on your own. you knew the director well and you were his first choice when casting the lead role. at first you were a bit hesitant to accept because you didn't even enjoy the little romance you did in your previous movies, so you weren't sure how you'd feel doing an entire film centered on it. but robert, the director, had convinced you to at least read the script, and you were hooked from there.
it was less of a romance and more of a drama, focused on the downfall of a marriage due to the wife, you, having an affair. that's where potter came in. you learned he was cast for the role of the 'side piece' only a month or so before filming began, and you weren't sure how to feel. on one hand, like jenny said, he wasn't bad looking from what you had seen in his films. however, when you previously did these types of scenes with costars, you at least knew them previously and could be friendly with them between takes. you had never met potter, not even seen him off-screen, and now you have to have an entire affair with him on camera.
that's another thing. you've only ever done heated kissing scenes before, maybe a little undressing and implied nudity, but nothing too explicit. this would be your first real 'sex scene', which just added another layer of awkwardness to the situation on top of not even knowing the basics about each other. to say you were anxious about filming those scenes would be an understatement.
"then you can take my place, cuz i'm not looking forward to it. you know i've never even met him before?" you ask as you stand up from the chair, stretching your body after sitting for over 2 hours. "just gonna introduce myself like, 'yeah, hi, i'm [y/n], nice to meet you. you ready to pretend to fuck passionately for the next 4 hours in front of the catering staff?'" you joke, putting on a voice and pretending to shake jenny's hand. she laughs at you, pulling her hand back and waving you away.
"oh hush, you're gonna do just fine. hell, you might even like it." she gives you a smirk as you just laugh her off. you exchange goodbyes with her, wishing her well and thanking her excessively for her time.
as you're walking through a maze of hallways to find your set, you run into robert. he looks like he's seen a ghost when you greeted him.
"ohâŚ[y/n]...i've been meaning to talk to youâŚ" he says nervously, trying to keep his tone positive. you narrow your eyes at him. you've worked with robert long enough to know when he's about to tell you something he knows will annoy you.
"robertâŚ" you warn him, a hint of sarcasm in your voice. he sighs. "look, just walk with me." he tells you as he walks away, motioning you to follow.
as you catch up to him, he begins trying to find the best way to break the news to you. "see, wellâŚwe uhâŚwe think it's best if, uhâŚmaybeâŚ" he stammers, causing you to look at him with concern. you've never seen him this nervous to tell you something. "what? just spit it out, rob." you tell him.
he sighs again, rubbing his forehead. "look, casting just isn't sure on this potter kid yet. we've shot a couple of his solo scenes already, butâŚ" he trails off, trying to find the words again.
"butâŚ?" you ask confused. he gives you an apologetic look. "butâŚwe just need to see his chemistry with you first." robert says. you're just more confused, staring at him blankly. robert slows to a stop and turns to you, his hands raised in innocence.
"it's not my idea, but cast wants you and potter to shoot the sex scene today so they can decide if we're keeping him or not," he admits regretfully.
you're completely dumbfounded. there's a few moments of silence before you can even conjure up a response. "what?"
he sighs yet again, clearly stressed about the situation. "i know, trust me, i know, you weren't excited to do this scene to begin with butâŚthink about it this way," his voice turns to the same fake positivity to try and reassure you.
"if we shoot all the lovey dovey stuff first just to find out there's no chemistry during the sex scene, then we just wasted all your time, all his time, and a lot of moneyâŚ" he reasons with a strained voice. you're still giving him a death glare, arms crossed, not buying his excuses.
"robert, that doesn't even make any sense. wouldn't we build chemistry over time like any other movie? i thought i had at least a couple weeks to get to know this kid before⌠you knowâŚ" you trail off, blushing from both frustration and embarrassment.
"i know, i know, but cast is really pushing for this other guy, but i've wanted potter in this role as long as i've wanted you as my lead." he says desperately, his hands literally pleading with you. "please, [y/n], i know this isn't cool of me, but i'll do anything you need from me for the rest of filming. for the rest of my life!" he's joking, but there's a hint of seriousness in his voice. "just, please?"
you're still glaring at him, not happy that you're being put in this predicament. you take a second to breathe, trying to think past your anger, and see this from an outside perspective. realistically, even if you and potter did have chemistry outside of the sex scene, it didn't necessarily mean it would transfer over. by filming that first and getting it out of the way, there would be no awkward building of tension over the next few weeks knowing what's to come. and who's to say there even is any chemistry? then they'd end up having to switch him out for an entirely different actor, which could up a lot of time for paperwork and legal feesâŚ
sighing, uncrossing your arms, you give robert a look of defeat. "fine."
robert's relieved, thanking you profusely as he continues to show you the way to the stage. he's trying to babble on about how you're going to do great, and there's nothing to be afraid of, but you can't focus on his words even a little bit because your heart is thumping so loud.
as you walk into the bustling room with robert leading the way, you can't help but search the room for potter's face. you want to at least see who you're going to be dry humping from 4 different angles.
recognizing different crew members you've worked with before, you smile and say hello to each of them as you continue analyzing each face in the room. you only kind of know what he looks like, so it might be a fruitless search, but it's the only thing that can distract you from your growing anxiety.
robert brings you to the catering table, telling you to make sure you eat and drink some water before being pulled into conversation with someone else and, eventually, leaving you behind completely. whatever, you think, he wasn't helping anyway.
grabbing for a water bottle, you drink at least half of it before feeling a tap on your shoulder. you're twisting the cap back on as you turn around.
harry potter.
you can instantly tell it's him, though he's now wearing glasses, something you don't remember seeing in his movies. he has a shy, nervous smile as he offers you his hand. "[y/f/n] [y/l/n], right? i'm harry potter," he introduces himself. "i guess we'll be filming together for the day."
you smile and shake his hand. "harry, hi, it's nice to meet you. and, yeah, i guess soâŚ" you reply shyly, noticing that your hands are sweating, as well as his. he chuckles just a bit, reaching for a water bottle as well.
"yeah, i take it robert talked to you already?" he asks before he takes a drink. you nod, giving him an awkward smile. "he didâŚ" you chuckle as well. "just a minute ago, actually."
harry nods in return. "yeah, he came by my room not even an hour ago to let me know." he states.
there's a few moments of awkward silence between the two of you before harry sighs and sets his water bottle down. he turns to you with his hands up just like robert.
"look, let's not be coy, yeah? this is weird as hell." harry states bluntly, a look of guilt on his face.
you let out a surprised laugh, setting your water bottle down as well. you turn to him, giving him your attention, curious to see what else he has to say.
harry briefly looks you up and down, his hands still raised. there's a hint of anxiety in his eyes before he blinks and shakes his head. "and, i'm just a big fan of yours in general, and this is really not how i wanted my first sex scene to play out, especially with youâŚ" he emphasizes, his eyes widening at his own words.
"not that i didn't want it to happen at all, i definitely did, just, likeâŚ" he groans, throwing his head back and covering his face with his hands in frustration. you can't help but giggle at his nervous antics. you didn't know what to expect in terms of his personality, but you certainly didn't think he'd be so humble and shy. most actors you meet close to your age are either full of themselves or try too hard to be something they're not. you've made friends with plenty who aren't like that, but it's definitely more common than you expected.
with harry, however, he seemed very honest right away. he wasn't putting on a face to impress you, if anything he was failing miserably at thatâŚbut you found it really admirable. he reminded you of yourself, in a way.
after hearing you giggle at him, harry looks back at you with flushed cheeks. his brunette hair, an already messy fringe, was now even more disheveled. you continue to giggle at his expression, covering your smile as you look him up and down as well. tired converse, blue jeans, a maroon zip up, and a plain blue polo. you'd never think this kid was a famous actor based on his appearance. even his glasses looked old and bent out of shape.
but again, you found it admirable. no designer names, no flashy accessories. not that you found anything wrong with either of those things, it's just what you're used to seeing. it was refreshing, harry's simplicity.
he awkwardly chuckles with you, wringing his hands together nervously. "uh, what i'm meaning to say isâŚ" he trails off. you interrupt his thoughts. "i know what you're saying," you reassure him. he looks back up at you. "you do?"
you laugh again. he's oddly innocent despite his age. "i do. i've never done this before, either." you admit. "oh, i know, i've seen all of your films plenty of times," harry beams, his nervousness melting away a bit. you're taken aback by his statement. "oh?" you respond.
he nods proudly. "oh yeah, i'm just a big film person in general so i'm constantly watching them at home. or on the plane. or in the dressing roomsâŚ" he laughs. you smile warmly at him. again, something about him is so genuine to you. not afraid to be a fan.
"but, anyways, yeah, i just love your work. and i know you've worked with robert before, so i was over the moon when i heard he wanted me to work with you guys. that was one of my favorite films that year, y'know? definitely deserved more recognition than it got." harry rambles.Â
blushing, you give him an incredulous look. "yeah, we have worked together before. i-i loved that film." you're clearly impressed with his knowledge of you and of cinema in general. that film wasn't even all that popular, and definitely not your most well-received work as far as the critics went. "thank you. really."
harry's smiling at you, admiring you in a way.
you blink a few times to come back to reality. "u-um, i love your work, too. i actually just went and saw your most recent one twice, before robert even told me we'd be working together."Â
harry's shocked, his mouth slightly agape and eyes wide. "youâŚyou've seen my movies?" he asks with a slight smile.
again, you can't help but giggle at him. his humility just keeps surprising you. "of course i have. you're not the only actor who enjoys films, y'know?" you tease him. he laughs, shaking his head.
"yeah, i'mâŚi'm just surprised, i figured you might not be familiar with me at all, really," he shrugs, still sounding in shock.
"well, we always miss each other at shows and such, i always meant to introduce myself, butâŚ" you trail off. "i know! tell me about it! i've wanted to meet you for ages, seriously," harry gushes.Â
smirking, you cross your arms and shift your weight. "well, what do you think now that we've met?" you ask, mostly sarcastically but also curious about his response.
he clears his throat, the nervousness coming back slightly. "u-uh, well, umâŚ" he stumbles. "quite honestly, i didn't think you could be more beautiful in person." he admits like a schoolboy with a crush.
his response gives you butterflies. he's so adorably innocent, but such a gentleman at the same time. at no point does his admiration for you feel manufactured or forced. it's like he's truly just happy to be with you in this moment.
"wellâŚthank you, harry," you respond. "you're not so bad yourself. i really adore the glasses." you admit with a blushing smile.
harry perks up immediately. "really?" he asks, excited and shocked at the same time. "they're prescription, actually, i'm blind as a batâŚbut no director wants me to wear them, they say i look like a total nerd," harry laughs, but you can tell it saddens him.
"nerds are hot." you shrug. harry's stunned for a moment before chuckling, his eyes softening for you. "right."
you and harry continue to chat for a while, losing all sense of time as the crew continue to work around you. you're mostly discussing films you both enjoy, and have incredibly similar taste. you love all the same directors, and grew up watching the same stuff.
this eventually leads to talking about both of your starts in acting, which are also strikingly similar. you discuss your experience so far as a woman in hollywood and he listens intently, asking questions with genuine curiosity and concern. he tells you about his experiences with theater growing up and the connections he made throughout his time performing.
you're completely enthralled with the conversation and feel like it could go on for days without any complaint. it's not until you hear robert calling both of your names that you look at the time and realize you've been talking with harry for nearly an hour and a half, but it feels like you just started 10 minutes ago.
harry follows you towards robert who's talking to the wardrobe team. you recognize a few faces and excitedly greet them, asking how everyone's been.
"potter, [y/n], these lovely folks are gonna walk you through how this works as far as clothing, don't be afraid to ask questions," robert told you both distractedly, his head already turned away before he ran off to help someone else out on set.
you and harry are separated and put into your respective outfits for your characters, as well as specific underwear for the scene. looking in the mirror at yourself in a simple dress, you can't help but feel the nerves coming back to you as you realize you actually have to film this scene with harry soon.
harryâŚ
when you come back, he's already in his outfit and waiting for you. he's in an earth tone suit, his glasses taken off and his tie slightly undone. you have to admit that he looks extremely handsome, and decide to tell him so with a smirk. "says the most gorgeous girl in the room," he instantly quips, but you can see the blush blooming over his cheeks.
the wardrobe team basically teaches you both how to take off your clothes in a "movie style" that looks best on screen. specific movements can obstruct certain body parts from the camera, some take less time than others depending on what you're wearing, just little things that keep you from having to constantly reshoot the scene.
after a few tries of swiftly removing your dress, and taking glances at harry as he took his button-up off, you start to get the idea and have the motion memorized. you're laughing with one of the assistants you've met previously about the task and catching up with her in general. harry comes up behind you and also recognizes her, giving her a friendly hug. you're impressed with how personable he is with her, asking about her schooling and her roommates, parts of her life you hadn't even known about. you couldn't help but be in awe of him. he really was like you in so many ways.
before you get too comfortable, the wardrobe team informs you and harry that you have to also practice taking each other's clothes off for the camera. obviously, you thought, but you were still a bit shocked at the news.
you turned to harry, who's already waiting for you with that familiar smile. you smile back nervously. "hey, it's alright. it's just me." harry reassures you. the tone of his voice is so comforting it actually helps settle your nerves a decent amount.
both of you basically learn what the other person learned, you taking off harry's suit jacket and tie as he lifts your dress in one swift motion. the first run through you're a bit nervous and end up giggling most of the time. harry also laughs with you, making the atmosphere less tense.Â
"feels like a dance, oddly enough," harry says, pretending to dance with you. you laugh and agree, dancing along with him.
after a few more awkward tries, you both start to get the hang of it and feel more comfortable with each other both physically and emotionally. you're cracking jokes, helping teach the other how to unclothe themselves quicker, just having a good time that comes so naturally to both of you. it doesn't take too many tries before you can efficiently take off each other's clothes without giggling or accidentally tickling the other.
before long you're both placed on set, a mock living room that resembles the apartment of harry's character. you and harry are given a few simple, non-sexual scenes to start with. the scripts are kept close by in case either of you need a refresher, but you both seem to have your lines memorized well and go through the scenes very naturally.
you were familiar with harry's acting of course, but something about how he performed his lines with you struck a different chord. his emotions were so raw, his timing felt natural, and his eyes told a whole story on their own. at one point you got so lost in them you missed a beat, quickly correcting yourself and focusing your gaze elsewhere.
you only had to redo them one or two times before moving on to the next scenes, which included kissing. you could feel your heart start to race again before harry's hands found their way to your shoulders from behind, a soft but firm grasp that sent chills down your spine.
"remember, it's just me," harry mumbles to you, coming around the side of you with a reassuring expression. somehow he knows exactly how to ease your nerves, and does it at the perfect times.
you're moved from the couch to the 'front door' area, where robert has you and harry mimic the steps he wants you to take before the cameras start rolling. "[y/n] opens the door, harry grabs her hand and pulls her back in," he directs you two like puppets as he shows you how and where to stand.Â
harry has you by the hand, your palms still sweaty as he squeezes your hand for reassurance. you smile at him, and he smiles down at you before quickly looking back at robert's actions.
"harry backs her up to the door, back, back, back 'til it closes," harry's pressed against you, chuckling under his breath as he looks down at you. you try to hold back a smile.
"kissing, kissing, blah blah blah, yadda yadda yadda," robert calls out despondently, flipping a page in his notebook. "harry, you take her shoulders and push her against the east wall," robert points to the wall just next to the door, and harry lightly moves you to the other wall, keeping his body close to yours.
"really sweet, yeah, but make sure it's passionate!" robert says dramatically, making both you and harry laugh.
you're instructed on the best way to take each other's clothes off for the cameras, and practice only a bit before officially having to start to scene. in the lull between the cameras being placed properly and the lighting being set, you start to nervously crack your knuckles and try to steady your breathing.
harry appears in front of you. he lightly grabs your chin with his fingers and kisses you softly on the lips. you're a bit stunned at first but can feel butterflies erupting in your stomach. you look up at harry with wide eyes, and he's chuckling again. "sorry. just thought i'd get the first one off-camera."
your mind is jumbled and you're staring at harry with, undoubtedly, a ridiculous face. you can't even remember the last time a kiss made you feel this way, or if one has ever made you feel this way before.
you suppress another smile as robert calls for places. somehow you're now less nervous about making out with him, if anythingâŚyou're excited about it. that soft, gentle kiss he gave you left you wanting more. maybe he just knew kissing you before being filmed would make it feel more natural on camera.
the scene starts, harry pulls you through the doorway, and backs you up against it until the door clicks shut. you're looking up at harry with wanting eyes, exploring his face as the camera pans to your left. once it pauses, harry pulls you in for an eager kiss.
your hand goes to his jaw, keeping it out of the way of the camera's view. you realize after a second just how comfortable you are kissing harry. not only are you comfortable, you're actually getting into it. and so is harry.
as another camera pans towards the wall beside you, harry grips your shoulders firmly and pushes you against it, reconnecting your lips with a desperation that felt completely real to you. it only fired you up more, running your hands through harry's hair and arching your body closer to him as the kiss became hungrier.
"cut," robert calls out in a casual tone, causing harry to pause and take a step away from you. you look at him for only a second before you have to look away, crossing your arms, a blush completely taking over your face.
what the fuck was that?
you've made out with plenty of guys plenty of times, but not like that. not even off-screen have you been kissed so passionately. either harry was the best kisser in the world, or you were confusing your feelings with your character's.
"that was great, guys, no issues, just gotta readjust," robert informs you as he works with a camera guy to get the angle right. "harry, can you come in again?" he asks, motioning harry towards you.
harry steps closer to you, giving you a shy smile like he didn't just change your entire life with one kiss.
you smile back at him, still blushing, mind still spinning. he may be pretty cute with his glasses on, but at least without them you can get a better look at his pretty green eyes. you wondered for a split second if his glasses would get in the way of you making out with him, but you quickly dismiss the thought as he's your costar. one that you barely met 3 hours ago.
the camera gets adjusted, and you're directed to just continue to the undressing part of the scene. you look over at harry, getting closer to him as you mumble, "do you think it'll be difficult, kissing and undressing at the same time?"
harry gives you an unsure face, looking at his tie before loosening it a bit. "might be, i'll get it started for you," he says, unbuttoning the top couple button of his shirt as well. you smile at him a bit. "just take your time, i'll help you." he says. something about the way he looks at you lets you know he means it, and you believe him.
as the scene starts, harry pulls you in for another breath-taking kiss, and the butterflies erupt in your stomach yet again. you know something's not right about this. well, actually, everything couldn't feel more right with harry's lips pressed against yours, but that's the problem. you're way too into this for it to just be acting for a movie, and it seems like harry's just as into it, if not more.
you quickly start undressing him, pulling off his suit jacket as he helps you, repeating the steps you practiced together. except now you were trying to keep the kissing going smoothly.
your fingers began fumbling with harry's shirt buttons, getting it and his tie off just in time for him to pull the skirt of your dress above your head, resuming your kiss with an eagerness that surprised you.
"cut, nice, one more time, little bit quicker guys," robert calls out. you pull away from harry breathlessly before trying to put your dress back on. harry redresses as well, and a stylist comes from the side to fix the back of his hair. he thanks them by their name and with a smile.
you and harry resume the scene again, picking up the speed just a bit as you attempt to make out and undress at the same time. the quicker you both moved, the more intense the kiss became, as if neither of you wanted to stop for even a moment to breathe.
"cut, nice, thanks guys," robert calls out, walking away to the furthest camera man.
you and harry redress, making funny comments to each other about the scene as you do. you notice your lipstick is on harry's lips, and you giggle as you tell him he should maybe wipe it off. "maybe i like this shade on me," he says sassily. you just roll your eyes and laugh at him.
as you chat a bit more, robert eventually comes up to you guys with a script in hand. "okay guys, we're gonna do this quick and try to get it in one take if we can. we wanna eliminate all the awkward for everyone, including the camera guy," he jokes, waving towards the camera man who laughs at him.
you and harry chuckle dryly, knowing what's coming next.Â
a few crew people leave the room, whether robert told them to or they chose to you're not sure. it's down to just a few more people than you and harry, along with a camera. you look at each other, harry giving you a big smile before he starts undressing.
you follow suit, listening to robert's instructions. "the scene's barely 10 seconds of screen time, so we're only gonna do about 30 seconds of filming. yeah?" you both nod, setting your respective clothes to the side. you're quite a bit relieved at this news, glad that everyone else wants to get this over with as much as you do.
you're both wearing nude colored underwear, harry's briefs and your panties and strapless bra matching your skin tones enough that it could pass for nudity in the dim lighting. you feel a bit exposed, but not to the point of embarrassment, especially having harry next to you in just as little clothing as you.
"alright, now, i don't care if you're both virgins or whores, we all know what sex looks like, so i'm not gonna get too graphic here," robert jokes to lighten to mood, making you and harry laugh to yourselves as you give each other embarrassed looks.
"all i'm gonna do is tell you where to be and you guys just feel it out from there. sound good?" robert asks. "yeah," you both say at the same time. "but remember, you're a cheating bride, so put some oomph into it," robert jokes with you, walking towards the couch. you feel your cheeks heat up as harry tries not to laugh.
robert has you on the couch, laying with your head hanging off the arm as harry steadies himself above you. his arm has to be in a certain position to keep you covered for the camera, and as he repositions himself to their liking, you admire his body from your view. his chest is well built, his shoulders and collarbones creating shadows across his lovely pale skinâŚ
you had to stop. this is just a job. he's an actor, you're an actor, you're acting together, nothing more. just be professional.
just before the camera's start rolling, harry looks down at you and gives you that same reassuring smile that makes your heart skip a beat every time. fuck. stop doing that.
"it's just me. okay? just you and me." his voice is so deep and he's so close to you, and the lighting behind him is making him glow. this moment could be a movie on its own.
"yeah," you breathe out, mesmerized by his words. just you and me. you could do that.
when the camera starts rolling, harry's hips start grinding into you slowly, his lips immediately connecting with yours. you involuntarily melt into him, your hands reaching for his shoulders as his leg starts rubbing against your panties. you let out a moan against harry's lips, and your grip on him gets tighter.
his hips become more and more rough with you, using your thigh to rub against rather than your panties themselves. it doesn't matter. you're still insanely turned on. and not just as your cheating character, but in real life, as yourself.Â
as you throw your head back in pleasure, harry takes advantage and digs his head into your neck. he's softly biting at your skin as he brings a hand to one side of your face, keeping his other arm stable for the camera.
he brings you back in for a kiss, and your hands are back in his messy brunette locks. this time he moans, and his rocking hips begin to pick up speed, grinding with more force into you.
your face twists in pleasure, partially for the camera but mostly for harry. you can't believe how natural this feels for you. it's like it really is just the two of you, no camera, no pressure, just pleasure.
as robert cuts the scene, there's a tone to his voice that was different compared to his normally distracted, stressed voice. harry slowly backs up from you, an indistinguishable look on his face as he gives you space to sit up.
you sit up, and quickly walk over to grab your dress. you don't feel uncomfortable, you're just afraid that you got wet enough to soak through your panties and really don't want anyone to notice.
as you slip the dress over your head, you notice harry putting on his pants. you can't tell if you just saw him from a weird angle or if you looked too quick and were mistaken, but you could've sworn he had an erection he was stuffing in his trousers.
well, even if he did, that's normal, right? you're both young people practically dry humping each other and pretending to enjoy it, of course your bodies are going to think it's real and end up actually enjoying itâŚright?
that's what you tell yourself as you try your best to seem normal, fixing your hair and steadying your breathing as robert makes his way over to you.
"that was, uhâŚthat was great. i don't think we'll have any problem keeping potter, yeah?"
with a heavy hand on your shoulder and a knowing smile, robert calls it a day for the rest of the crew still on set and says his goodbyes.
you're a bit confused by his statement, but try not to think about it too much. you turn to look at harry, but he's already gone.
you're a bit surprised. you thought for sure harry would want to maybe chat a bit after all that, but you tried not to be disappointed as you turned around and headed towards the wardrobe department to retrieve your real clothes.
after getting dressed and setting wardrobe's outfit back in their closet, you make your way out towards the hallways. your mind is still racing, but you're trying not to think too much about what just happened so you don't lose your mind.
on your way to your dressing room, you kept feeling like someone was watching you. the feeling made you walk a bit faster as you tried to remember which hallway was yours.
once finding the door, you quickly let yourself in until a hand stops the door. as you peak through the crack, you see a tie hanging over a messily buttoned-up shirt, and instantly recognized it was harry.
you open the door a bit more excited than you expected yourself to, and are completely in awe of the man in front of you. messy hair, his glasses back on, still wearing the wardrobe outfit without the suit jacket.
"harry," you greet him, smiling like an idiot. he smiles back. "[y/n], hey, umâŚ" he takes a breath, seeming a bit nervous. "sorry i just dashed, i hate those contacts and had to put these back on," he jiggles the frames of his glasses from the the side, making you giggle. "well, i guess i can forgive you. only because i'm pro-glasses," you say with a smirk.
harry seems so nervous, he's constantly shifting his weight and his smile isn't reaching his eyes.
"well, um, i just wanted to say, y'know, thank you for trusting me todayâŚi know it wasn't easy but you did really, really well," his smile is so sweet, and his eyes are incredibly kind. you swear he's trying to get you to swoon.
"thank you, harry, but you made it incredibly easy to trust youâŚ" you say with a small smile. "and it went a lot better than i was expecting." you say with a laugh.
harry cracks a smile. "yeah, same here. i actually wouldn't have minded it at all minus the cameras and audience." harry tries to joke with you, but his nerves are still overpowering his voice. is he joking, or does he feel the same way you felt shooting that scene?
smirking, you lean on the doorway of your dressing room. "i don't know, part of me thinks the audience part is kinda hotâŚmostly terrifying and vomit-inducing, butâŚ" you joke back with him. he tries to laugh with you but he looks a little shocked by your statement.
"but, i agree. i didn't mind it at all." you say with a tone of seduction. you try to analyze harry to understand how he's feeling, what he's thinking, and why he's so nervous to be talking to you after everything you just did. yeah, maybe you shouldn't be playfully flirting with a coworker, but he started itâŚ
there's a few moments of silence between you exchanging nervous glances with each other. you somewhat enjoy watching harry squirm like this under your gaze, after being so calm and collected on set it's pretty funny to see him fall apart with just you and him.
"uh, lookâŚ" harry finally breaks the silence, looking at the ground before making resistant eye contact. "[y/n], i know i said i was a big fan, umâŚ" he's sweating, and he can't stop shifting his weight.
"but, i was just wondering, since, y'know, now we work together for a bit, maybe, umâŚ"
god. he's so cute. is he really nervous to ask you to hang out after having practically having sex on camera? you can't take it anymore. you don't care if you're working together, you need him.
you grab harry and pull him into your dressing room, closing the door and locking it before turning to him and practically forcing him into a kiss.
harry's a bit stunned, quite a bit, but he quickly begins kissing back. the performance kiss was nothing compared to this. he's somehow an even better kisser when it's just the two of you.Â
this time, you're pushing harry into the wall next to the door. you smile up at him between making out. "this feels familiar." you say with a smirk. harry nervously lets out a laugh before immediately pulling you back in for the kiss.
the tension that's been built between you guys for the last 3 hours is finally being released, your hands exploring as you slowly take off the other's clothes. unlike the acting you were just doing, you're both gentle with each other and take your time to carefully take the other's clothes off. you're admiring harry's body as his shirt comes off, throwing it to the side. you're mesmerized by his neck and shoulders.
harry takes a moment to admire you, his hand on your cheek as he moves a strand of hair out of your face. your heart couldn't have been beating louder. something about these small, intimate moments with him between the heavy kissing and touching actually makes you more nervous. it was one thing to just be physically attracted to him, but the soft kiss he gave you during the break between filming and now this gentle moment between making out had your mind racing with questions but wanting nothing more than to just keep going.
"harryâŚ" you sigh, examining his face while he looks down at you. "[y/n]...this is like a dream come trueâŚ" he whispers softly. the genuine look in his eye has your stomach twisting knots. "i never thought an on-screen kiss could feel like thatâŚ" you respond just as quietly.
his smile's real this time, no nerves, no looking away, just admiring you with the most loving smile. "don't tell robert, but, um, i wasn't acting out there. that was harry kissing [y/n]," harry tells you with a chuckle. you feel yourself smiling like an idiot and suppress your laugh. "yeah, i could tell," you say with a smirk.
harry pulls you in to kiss again, and your hands go to his chest. standing on your toes, you push your body further into his, moaning into harry's mouth as his hands find their way to your waist and hold onto you firmly.
"fuck," he practically whimpers, his hands sliding down your hips and eventually to your ass. he squeezes it roughly and causes you to gasp. "i want you." he states simply, staring you in the eyes again. "i don't care if we get in trouble, i'll take the fall. i just, fuck, i need you [y/n], pleaseâŚ" harry breathlessly begs you, his hands making the way under your shirt and up your back.
"we're just working on our chemistry," you respond, helping him pull off your shirt. he groans at your mutual eagerness and his lips attach to your neck and chest, leaving plenty of bite marks as you tangle your hands in harry's fringe again.
letting moans slip out of your mouth without a second thought, your body is responding to harry like it never has with anyone before. everything you've done with someone before him has felt so mild and mechanical, but harry was so naturally passionate with you. you're not sure if it's because he's always been attracted to you or if you just really, really find yourself attracted to himâŚ
eventually harry's lips find your own again, and his hands begin to explore. he runs his fingers over your bra straps as he traces your back, sending shivers all over your skin. smiling into the kiss, he's loving the effect he has on you. harry slowly unclasped your bra and you let it fall to the floor, his hands already replacing it as he massages your tits.
your hands make their way down to his pants, pulling at the waistband only slightly before harry immediately unbuttons them for you, helping you push them before he separates the kiss and kicks off his pants entirely. you steal a glance down and see his erection. "i've had this since that first kiss, need you so bad" harry's voice rumbles.
you take your pants off as well, with harry's assistance, and he pulls at the waistband of your panties. "fuck, everything about you is so beautiful," harry admits before attaching his lips to yours sloppily. the kissing becomes needy, messy, and secondary to you groping each other roughly.
harry spins you around so you're now against the wall as he begins kissing down your body. the cold wall makes your skin shiver again, the visual of harry slowly getting to his knees in front of you making your mind spin.
he looks up at you for just a second above his glasses and your heart can barely take it, how can someone be so adorable yet so incredibly sexy and seductive at the same time?
eventually harry's mouth finds its way to your panties, softly kissing your pussy through them as you squirm under his touch. quiet whimpering and frustrated hip thrusts let harry know you need more, and he slowly pulls the fabric to the side.
you're in a complete state of ecstasy watching harry eat you out from above. his eyes are softly closed as he gets lost in licking and sucking on your clit. his hands go to your legs as he lifts one of your thighs over his shoulder, getting a better angle.
you're full on moaning now, not afraid to let harry know just how good he's making you feel. you can't remember a time where someone was this eager to eat your pussy, solely giving you pleasure. you can feel yourself getting wetter against harry's lips and blush at just how desperately your body's craving him.
"harry, fuck," you whimper, your hands returning to his hair as you begin to slowly grind down onto his face. harry is completely accepting of this, moaning as you stuff his face further into you. his moans send shockwaves through your body, gasping as you feel the tension building in your body.
harry looks up at you, his eyes full of lust and barely open as he continues to make out with your pussy. you can hardly stand the erotic sight before you as he watches your body react so well to him.
"fuck, harry, keep looking at me like that and i'm gonna cum," you teasingly scold him. you can see the smile in his eyes as he backs away, his chin and lips soaking wet. your body goes cold, missing his touch, and your climax fades away.
he quickly wipes his face with his hand before standing up and going back in to kiss you. you moan as the taste and smell of you is all over him. his hands go to your weakening legs and he lifts you up without breaking a sweat. you gasp and look down, seeing he already took off his boxers as he holds you against the wall. you look back in his eyes and they're so much darker than you remember, the bright green now a haunting emerald as he searches yours.
"i need you," he growls, the complete opposite of his usually gentle nature. you can't hold back your moan, something about his desperation makes you crave him so badly. you've never felt so wanted or loved by a partner.
"need you," is all you can say before you kiss him again, tongues instantly entangled. he takes this chance to use one hand to stroke himself, your legs wrapped around his body as he continues to hold you against the wall.Â
as harry's slowly pushing into you, your body envelopes him and embraces the pleasure. he's slowly thrusting up into you, his eyes completely fixated on your face as you fall into bliss. you can't get the words out, but harry feels so perfect inside of you. it's everything you've been wanting since he gave you that loving kiss on set.
harry's pace stays slow and torturous until he begins groaning and thrusting more desperately. "holy fuck, [y/n], you feel so fucking good," harry's head falls into your chest, his heavy breaths hitting your skin. the only sound you can make are your pathetic whimpers, your head thrown back against the wall.
harry starts sweating as he holds you against the wall, his legs getting weaker along with his arms. despite that, his thrusts become quicker and more hungry as his hand finds its way to your pussy. your whimpers turn into moans as harry brings you closer to your orgasm. his head lifts to look at you as you reconnect your lips, forcing your tongue in his mouth.
you can feel that knot in your stomach tightening, your hands finding harry's shoulders for something to hold onto. his exasperated breaths and gasps against your lips only turn you on even more. even at his weakest moment he's doing everything possible to make sure your pleasure and comfort comes first.Â
"harry, harry, i'm gonna cum," you say between kissing, your arms wrapping around his neck. "please, baby, please," harry groans eagerly, pushing your body further into the wall and thrusting even deeper into you. you can barely wait a moment before letting yourself go, burying your head into harry's neck as you call his name. harry's breathing is completely ragged as you squeeze around his cock, loving the way your body feels against his as you begin shaking.
it's not long into your climax that harry slows down, his hips stuttering before pulling out at the last second and letting his cum drip to the floor, his head falling into your shoulder as well.
you let yourself down from harry's grasp, your legs barely able to keep you up. harry steadies you, chuckling, his reassuring hands on your arms. "okay?" he asks breathlessly. you look up at him, his face is completely drenched and flushed as he stares at you lovingly. "yeah, fine," you say with a smile, using the wall to balance yourself.
you and harry stare at each other for a bit before going in to kiss each other again. it feels so natural, like you've been kissing him your whole life. the butterflies come rushing back. even after having sex with harry you still feel so attracted to him in a nervous, crush-like way.
after getting dressed harry offers his phone to you, asking for your number. you set your contact's name to your character's in the movie, and it leaves harry blushing. he's smiling at you for just a moment before he envelopes you in a hug. warm, comforting, and completely safe, you lean into his touch and don't want to let go.
with some flirtatious remarks and a promise to meet up tomorrow for a date, harry's leaving your dressing room in a barely buttoned up shirt and messy hair. you watch him disappear down the hall before closing your door, hardly able to believe you're already so smitten with the costar you only met earlier that day.
summary: as hermione's new friend, you and harry are constantly bugging each other any time you're together. however, one day, during training for dumbledore's army, you get injured, causing harry to lash out before promptly carrying you to the infirmary.

"does she always have to be invited to everything?" harry groans, nodding towards you as you continue trying to steal his scarf. you're both following behind ron and hermione through the snow on the way to hagrid's hut for tea. hermione laughs in response along with you. "yes, she does. it's nice having another girl around." she tells harry, giving you a shy smile. you return the same smile, reaching over to successfully steal harry's scarf from him. "yep, you're stuck with me, potter," you tease him, wrapping the scarf around yourself.
harry rolls his eyes, stealing the scarf back from you. "well, can't you ever bother hermione? your actual friend? or ron? why is it always me?" harry complained as he dodged another attempt at you taking his scarf. "they're not as fun to mess with," you whine, crossing your arms. hermione giggles, giving ron a knowing side-eye that he returns.
you narrow your eyes at their exchange. "what?" you ask them. hermione looks over her shoulder at you with the same smug expression before turning away and giggling again. "hermione," you warn her, uncrossing your arms. she just keeps laughing, only making you more suspicious. "nothing, [y/n]," she tells you sarcastically, shaking her head.
"yeah, mind your business, [y/n]," harry interjects. he flinches when you turn to look at him, making you laugh. "yeah, that's what i thought, potter," you say triumphantly, reaching for his scarf once more.
"seriously?" you ask harry as he takes yet another piece of food off your plate. he's holding back a laugh as he quickly eats it, giving you a devious look. "i asked if you were hungry and you said no! now keep your grubby fingers off my plate," you playfully scold him, pulling your plate closer to you. ron and hermione laugh, giving each other that same knowing look.
"oh i'm not hungry, i just know you hate people taking your food." harry says with a smirk, reaching his hand out again before you smack it away. "ow!" harry exclaims, holding his aching knuckles. "really? you steal my food all the time!"
you're the one smirking this time as you say, "yeah, but it's funny when i do it." taking another bite of your food, harry narrows his eyes at you. he waits for his chance and quickly sneaks another piece of food, successfully stealing it away as you try to stop him. "ha!" he laughs with his mouth full, pointing at you. you give him a look, which makes hermione laugh harder.
"you two are ridiculous," she sighs, taking a bite of her own food. "oh, come on, he started it!" you say with a hand pointed at harry. he pretends to bite your finger and you narrow your eyes at him, reaching to grab the glasses off his face. "no, no, no," harry warns you, frantically grabbing for the glasses to take them from your hands as you lean away from him. "ha!" you repeat after him, pointing at him as you continue pulling away from his grasp. harry leans across the table and nearly falls before he successfully snatches the glasses from your fingers. "ha!" he says again with a cocky smile, sitting down and placing them back on his face.
ron rolls his eyes, taking a sip of his drink. "i agree with hermione. ridiculous." he says with that same knowing smile. harry scoffs, giving ron a look. "whatever," he shrugs him off. "she started it," harry repeats after you, nodding in your direction as he tries to hide his smirk. you roll your eyes at him, but you're hiding the same devious smile.
"late again, ms. [y/l/n]?" harry asks you in a teasing voice as you walk down the hall towards the room of requirement. you rolled your eyes at him. "shut it, potter. just be glad i came." you snap back, giving him a smirk as you pass through the doorway.
harry followed you in, making sure no one was watching behind him. he began the meeting thanking everyone for coming back for yet another round of training for dumbledore's army, and wanted to go over defense tactics again. as he started reviewing all the different spells and wand movements from the week prior, he asked everyone to partner up and work on practicing them again.
the session was going really well, and harry was helping people individually to get the motions perfect. he was just working with a first year student when he heard a yell from behind him, followed by a crash and a crowd of gasps. harry spun on his heel to see hermione running from across the room, dropping her wand in the process. this immediately worried harry more.
he made his way to the gathering crowd in the corner when he heard hermione say your name in exasperation. harry's pace picked up and he pushed himself through the crowd of students urgently.
he found hermione kneeling at your side, blocking his view of you. only your converse-covered feet littered with rubble and dust were visible from his angle. harry quickly rushed to your other side, his stomach dropping at the sight of your unconscious body, freezing completely when he notices blood coming from under your shirt. hermione was checking your breathing and heartbeat and trying to wake you up. harry's shock flipped into anger within a second, turning to the crowd that had gathered around you.
"who did it?" he asked, his tone rough and impatient. everyone stayed quiet hearing how upset harry was. they had never seen him be anything other than shy, kind, and timid.
"well? who was her partner? huh? who the fuck hit her?" harry yells the last part, causing a few students flinch.
"harry. it was an accident." hermione snaps towards him, causing him to look back at her. he's breathing heavily, staring into hermione's narrowed eyes as she holds your hand in hers.
harry's anger subsided, if only for a moment, seeing your shirt start to stain with blood. his anger was replaced with concern, dropping to one knee and picking you up in his arms. "harry," hermione tries to stop him, but harry interrupts her. "i'm taking her to the infirmary now. i'll make up something on the way. send everyone home." he tells hermione in a rushed voice as he carefully adjusts you in his arms, your neck limp as your head falls into harry's chest.
he rushes out of the room, ron holding the doors open for him, giving him a tight smile with worried eyes. "she'll be alright, mate," ron tries to reassure him, but harry's already practically jogging to the hospital wing.
a few hours later the sun has long since set, and you open your eyes to a dark room lined with windows showing the stars outside. you try to sit up in the bed you're lying in and you're immediately hit with an intense wave of pain, making you groan and wince. you notice movement to your right and turn to see harry's sleeping body on a chair pulled up beside your cot. you hadn't even seen him at first, so you were a bit surprised, letting out a gasp at his sudden presence.
this wakes him up, his eyes snapping open towards you and standing from his uncomfortable sleeping position to come to your side. "[y/n]," he says softly, his voice still groggy, hands resting on your shoulders to lay you back down again. you groan again as you lie back, your face twisted in pain. harry winces just the same, moving the pillow under you to better support your neck.
"i know, it's okay, you're okay," he coos. you look at him weirdly, never experiencing this caring side of him so intimately. "what happened?" you ask, glancing at the IV machine attached to your arm. "am i in the infirmary?"
harry sighs, his eyes searching you carefully for any discomfort. "yes, you are. your bloody first year partner hit you with his stupefy and nearly killed you." harry informed you, his voice gradually getting angrier before stopping himself to take a deep breath. "sorry. i didn't mean that. all you got was a concussion, and a nasty scar on your stomach. but, he could've hurt you worse," harry tells you, the anger returning any time he mentions your partner. "i swear to you, [y/n], he's never coming to another practice again. and i don't care if he tells the whole school, that kid is finished."
you can't help but chuckle at how riled up harry is, earning a confused look from him. you shake your head weakly. "it was probably just an accident, potter. no need to pitch a fit." you tell him with that same smirk as always. harry's body relaxes, breathing a sigh of relief at your nonchalant reaction and usual sarcasm making its return. though he wants to roll his eyes at how unaffected you are learning about your injuries, he's too concerned to even pretend to joke.
"wait, how did i get here? i don't even remember walking in," you say in confusion, trying to recall the afternoon. harry awkwardly shifts his weight beside you. "yeah, um, well, i had to carry you." he tells you. you shoot him a look full of confusion, shock, and humor. "you? you carried me across the school?" you ask with an incredulous chuckle. "you were unconscious! and bleeding! i had to get you here quickly." harry defends himself, throwing his arms up.
you laugh and shake your head again, rubbing your face. "since when have you started caring about my well being, potter? i thought i was just a pest to you," you inquire, cocking an eyebrow at harry. he nervously blinks and looks away from you, clearing his throat. "you were under my supervision, didn't want you to sue me or anything." harry says with a smirk, still awkwardly shifting his weight back and forth with his hands in his pockets.
"right," you scoff at him jokingly.
harry sighs, pulling his seat closer to your bed so he can sit down again. "look," he says, his eyes still not quite meeting yours. "i know we joke around a lot, and, y'know, you may even actually annoy me a bit sometimesâŚ" he trails off, chuckling to himself. you lightly slap his leg closest to you, holding back your own laugh.
"but, seeing you like that on the ground, seeing the blood, i was terrified. i didn't know if you were okay and that killed me. i don't know what i would've done ifâŚ" he trails off again, his voice caught in his throat.
you give harry a sympathetic smile, studying his tired face. he was looking towards the ground, his hair disheveled, glasses hanging low on the bridge of his nose. he looked upset as his eyebrows furrowed together in thought.
"did you stay here all day?" you asked him softly. harry looks up at you with surprise, his eyes studying yours. "yeah," he says simply. you look to your left towards a grandfather clock and see it's nearly 3 in the morning.
you give him another curious look. "harry," you start to say, but you're at a loss for words. he chuckles again, his eyes still studying yours intently. "i wasn't leaving. the nurses nearly fought me multiple times." he tells you bluntly. you laugh, wincing at the pain it causes you, but can't hold back. "harry, you didn't have to do that."
harry gives you a half hearted smile. "i know," he shrugs.
you return the smile. "well, thank you, then. for waiting and for bringing me here." you thank harry genuinely, causing him to blush and wave you off. you reach out to poke his sides in attempt to tickle him. "and i guess you really do care, hm?" you tease him.
harry squirms away and laughs, his blush intensifying. "yeah, yeah, whatever."
âY/N?â Harryâs voice pulls you from your book as he walks into the common room after his quidditch practice.
âHarry, hi,â you greet him. He walks over and plops himself onto the sofa next to you. Harryâs still in his quidditch sweater, which is a bit too big for him. He pulls the sleeves over his hands to make paws.
âYou okay? How was practice?â you ask him, putting your book down and patting your lap, inviting him to lie down. He sometimes reminded you of a puppy.
âFine, and good,â he says softly. He leans down and stretches across your lap, groaning as he does. The wind messed up his hair, sticking everywhere, but not much more than usual. You stroke his hair as he leans into you more, undoing any small knots the wind had created.
His cheeks grow warm from the fireplace that is always lit. He sighs in contentment as the warmth spreads through his body.
âNeed a shower?â you ask. He doesnât reply for a moment, then nods his head. âYeah,â
âOkay, well, go,â you nudge his head lightly.
âI donât want to,â he says. âYouâre comfortable.â
âMy lap will still be here after your shower, Harry,â you say, smiling. âNow go, love. Take a nice, relaxing shower,â
He tilts his head to look at you. âOkay,â he proceeds to roll off of the sofa, hurting his behind in the process.
âOwww,â he groans tiredly. âThat hurt,â
âNo shit, Harry,â you sigh. âNow shoo, before I drag your arse up to your dorm,â
He lets a small smile slip onto his face before getting up and going to shower, but not before kissing you on the cheek.
You pick your book up and continue reading as he showers. After a while, you check the clock and see itâs been thirty minutes and you start to wonder if he fell asleep in the shower.
You put your book down and walk up to his dorm. You knock and wait for a sign of protest but hear nothing, so you open the door.
Walking in, you look over to see Harry lying in his bed with damp hair and no shirt on. He looks asleep, but you confirm he isnât when you hear a muffled hi coming from his direction.
You look around to make sure the other beds are empty (they were), then walk over to him and sit beside him.
âHow was your shower?â you ask him, reaching over and rubbing his bare shoulder. He flinches slightly at your cold touch.
âGood,â he seems to be talking to his pillow.
A sudden idea pops into your head. âHey, sit up,â
He lifts his head to give you a questioning look.
âLove, sit up,â you repeat.
He stretches before obliging. He now sits next to you on the bed, his eyelids drooping slightly.
âGood,â you say quietly before crawling behind him on the bed and sitting down again. You raise your hands and begin massaging his shoulders so he can relax.
He tensed up for a second. You questioned why in your head for a moment before realizing why he felt so warm; your hands had been cold before.
âSorry,â you say. âDo you want me to stop?â
âNo, itâs okay, theyâll get warmer as you go on,â he says. âBut that sure woke me up.â
A small laugh escaped your lips as you continued with your massage.
âHow did everyone do during practice?â you ask him. Your hands are getting warmer now.
âEveryone did fine,â he says. âRon missed a few, and Katie got lightheaded after an hour, but other than that, it was good.â
âThatâs good,â you agree. âDâyou think I'd make a good player?â
âWith your aim? No way,â he jokes. âBut maybe a beater. Do you like hitting things?â
âSometimes,â you say. âOne time I actually hit my sibling with a pillow and knocked them off our loft bed,â you cringe and half smile at the memory.
âOuch,â he says.
âYeah,â you say. âMaybe next year Iâll try for beater, who knows?â
âThatâd be cool,â Harry says. âIâd get to boss you around, ha!â
âYou already can, Harry,â you say without thinking. Your face turns red in realization but thankfully Harry canât see.
âIâ what?â he turns around with a slight smirk as he notices your shocked state.
You quickly compose yourself and say with as much confidence as you can muster, âYou heard me. You already can.â
He narrows his eyes for a moment. âOkay, then. Get off the bed.â
You didnât think heâd actually start to boss you around, but you oblige anyway. You crawl around him and off the bed, now standing in front of him. âIs that it?â you ask.
âNow, kiss me.â
You look at him. âIs that it?â
âMaybe,â he says. âNow do as I say. Please?â
âFine,â you roll your eyes playfully before leaning forward and giving him a swift peck on the lips.
âHey! That wasnât a kiss!â he whines as you back away.
âIt was!â you say.
âBarely,â he retorts.
âFine,â you say as you walk up to him. Harry scoots back on the bed to make room for you to sit. You sit down and look from his eyes to his lips.
His hand cups your jaw as you both lean in for a kiss. Your hands go to his warm shoulders as your lips meet and suddenly your whole body is warmer than just a few seconds ago.
You lean into him to somehow feel him more, which makes the kiss more intense. One of his hands goes to rest on your hip and all of a sudden youâre sitting on his lap.
You pull away for air after a moment. âGood enough kiss?â you ask him.
âAlmost,â he says. He leans forward once again and pecks your lips once, twice, then a third time before he says, âOkay, good.â
You smile and kiss him on the nose.
Harry pulls you with him as he lies down on his back, your head resting on his chest and his arms wrapped around you protectively.
âIâm warm now,â you say. âThank you for sharing your body heat.â
âNo problem, love,â he says through a yawn. âCan we sleep now?â
Loud music filled your ears as you entered the crowded Gryffindor common room. Almost everybody had a drink in their hand, or was dancing with someone.
Gryffindor had just won another Quidditch match, which was always the perfect excuse for a party. Harry had invited you even though you werenât in the same house, but being the boy who livedâs girlfriend has its perks.
âWhataya doin here!?â Ginny Weasley stumbles your way with a half empty cup in her hand.
âHarry invited me!â You shout over all the noise.
âOh, right!â She remembered, âcome on in!â
You smile at the intoxicated teen before making your way further into the common room in search of your boyfriend.
After asking a few people where Harry Potter was and receiving a few âI donât knowâ and âwant a drink?!â In return, you find your good friend Hermione chatting with Ron by the fireplace.
âHey, Mione!â You exclaim, relieved to find someone who might know where Harry is.
âY/N!â Hermione and Ron say in unison.
âHave you seen Harry?â You ask them, ducking suddenly as a Weasley invention flew over your head.
âNo, I havenât,â said Hermione thoughtfully. âHave you, Ron?â
âNo, sorry mate,â he said, giving you an apologetic look.
âOkay, thanks,â you muster up a smile as best you can before walking over to an unoccupied armchair and sitting down.
You wonder where Harry could be. maybe in his dorm? Itâs fine, heâll probably be here soon.
But even after waiting ten minutes, still no sign of your boyfriend.
âWant a drink?â Hermione came up to you holding two cups, a sympathetic look on her face.
âSure,â you take one cup gratefully, the first sip burns your throat slightly. âFirewhisky?â
âMixed with butterbeer,â Hermione confirms, taking a swig of her drink.
âTastes nice,â you say before drinking almost all of it in one go.
âWoah woah, slow down,â Hermione chuckled.
You laugh, feeling lighter than before. This drink is magical.
After a few more drinks (more like a dozen), and some dancing later, you now sat on the floor leaning against the wall.
âMy head hurts,â you whine like a little kid to no one in particular. âI want my boyfriend.â
You suddenly see someone walking towards you. They crouch down to your level and start talking to you.
âHey, what happened?â The stranger asked you, their face appeared blurry but you could make out a look of concern on their face.
âI had butterbeer,â you reply, your words slurring slightly.
âHow much?â They ask.
âWhy do you care?â You question.
âToo much, I take it.â They sigh before lifting you up by the armpits and walking you towards the boys dormitories.
âNoooo I donât wanna,â you complain, attempting to plant your feet but failing.
âHoney, you need some water, Iâm taking you up to my dorm.â
âHey! Only Harry can call me that, donât be weird.â You say accusingly.
âGuess what,â the stranger says. âI am Harry.â
You gasp. âHarry? Awww I missed you!â You lean into him.
âI missed you too, Honey. Now, can you walk?â Harry asks you.
âHmmmm I think so,â you walk, stumbling a bit. He holds your waist as you both walk up the stairs to Harryâs dorm.
Harry shut the door behind him and led you to his bed. He laid you down before taking your shoes off, he then went to the bathroom and returned with a glass of water.
âHere,â he said softly, lifting your head up and tilting the glass for you to drink.
âThanks,â you mumble before rolling over and planting your face into his pillow.
âYou smell nice,â you say, sniffing his pillow.
âYou say that a lot,â he chuckled.
âI do?â You ask. âHm,â
âMhm,â he hummed in confirmation. âSo tell me, what happened earlier?â
âWell, I came into the common room and I couldnât find you, so I got sad and decided to have some butterbeer, but it wasnât just butterbeer, it had some firewhiskey, Hermione told me. Then I danced, then I got a headache so I sat down, then you found me, then I thought you were a stranger, then I realized you were Harry, then Harry took me to his dorm and gave me water, then he asked me what happened.â
âOh, wow,â he says.
âYeah. Where were you, by the way?â You ask him. âIt felt like I was waiting hours.â
âIt was only twenty minutes,â he said. âBut I was taking a shower,â he pointed to his hair that was dripping onto his now damp t-shirt.
âOh, right, you get all sweaty after Quidditch,â you say. âBut I think itâs hot,â
He chuckled. âThank you?â
âYouâre welcome,â you say, snuggling into his blanket.
After a minute, you feel the bed dip beside you. You look over and see Harry laying next to you.
âWhat are you doing?â You ask him.
âWhat does it look like? Iâm lying with you.â He states.
âBut I thought youâd want to go celebrate, you know?â You say confused.
âNah, Iâd rather be with you, and since youâre wasted, I figured itâs best if we donât go back down there.â He reached out and pulled you closer to him, your head leaning against his bare chest.
âOh,â you mumble. âIâm sorry for drinking too muchâŚâ
âItâs alright, Honey,â he muttered into your hair, stroking it with one hand and holding you with the other. âI like this better anyway,â
You smile and sink into his warmth, both your slow breathing and the muffled noise from the common room being the only sound audible.
âDâyou need anything else?â Harry asks you, brushing your hair from your face.
âNo, just need you,â you say, turning around and snuggling your face into his neck. âThis is good.â
You gave him a few kisses on the side of his neck and on his collarbone. Although you couldnât see, Harry smiled.
âI love you,â you tell him.
âI love you, Honey.â he said, kissing the top of your head.
So I had this dream a while ago and I had to get it written down because itâs prime â¨soft yandere contentâ¨.
Reader is in hiding from their yandere partner/soulmate and trying to build a new life. Yandere is affluent and intense with a lot of⌠questionable connections, so Reader may have been overwhelmed by his lifestyle, scared of their own feelings, felt he was too possessive/controlling, etc. There wasnât a clear reason in the dream, so itâll just be a mix. There will also be a few descriptors of Yandere that I throw in there based off the man from my dream, but idc, live your life and imagine whoever you want.

You swiped at the sweat accumulating on your temple with the back of your gardening glove, giving a huff of satisfaction. Pulled weeds laid scattered around your feet as a physical reminder of the work youâd been doing for the past few hours.
Youâd finally gotten the motivation to start working on the yard of the house you had moved into months ago. The weather had been dreary and cold, then, (and quite honestly you had other things to worry about with the sudden move) so you had left the yard to itâs own devices until things started warming up. It was hard to tell what all the garden held beyond the overgrown carpet of weeds, but now that they were gone, you could see that the garden was comprised of little more than grass and patches of dirt. The house had an array of ivy and other plant life clinging to walls, and throughout the property there were a few stubborn groups of perennials sprouting from the ground, but otherwise it was barren.
It was a little exciting, honestly. You thought you would need to tend to whatever plants the previous tenants had been growing here, but having a clean slate was⌠nice. With the weeds gone, youâd be able to start planting wild flowers and maybe even try your hand at some vegetables.
Smiling a little to yourself, you decided it was time for a break. You could come back and clean up the dead weeds later. For now, you remembered that you had a cold glass of lemonade with your name on it waiting for you in the fridge.
After wiping away another bead of sweat and brushing the dirt off your knees, you started walking towards the front door. Down the road, you could hear a car heading in your direction and you glance up, thinking maybe it was one of your neighbors. You were only familiar with a few of them. For the last few months you had been mostly laying low and staying inside, but those you had encountered so far in the neighborhood seemed kind. It was a safe and quiet place a good distance away from the city - just what you needed.
You were about to lift your hand to give a neighborly wave, but stopped cold.
That car⌠You knew that car. Dark red. Sleek design. Windows tinted. Down to the quiet hum of the engine.
You KNEW that car.
Immediately you could feel a bolt of⌠something course through your veins, and on pure instinct, you ran for the house.
There was no way - HOW had he found you? You had been so careful.
You prayed the fence and few trees that were between you and the car coming even closer would be enough to obscure your form as you darted to the house. You prayed you were just being paranoid, that this car was different and belonged to some stranger. Deep down, though, you knew. It was him. He was here.
It was only a matter of time until you were caught.
You tore the gardening gloves from your hands and threw them to the ground, not wanting the clunky things to slow you down. The screen door rattled with the sudden force of you yanking it open. As quickly as you could, you slipped into the house and slammed the screen behind you.
The car drove into sight just as you were pushing the heavier wooden door closed and locked it. You knew it wouldnât actually do much to slow him down, but you would take the small illusion of security it gave you. For a short moment you just stood there, your thoughts racing and heart pounding. You crept towards the front window of your living room to peek through the curtains. The car was still driving ever-so-slowly in front of the house, but it didnât seem to be stopping. Maybe⌠maybe he hadnât seen? Maybe you HAD made a mistake? Maybe it wasnât him? Maybe-
The car turned suddenly into your driveway.
Your body jolted and you stumbled away from the window, your eyes darting around the house wildly. There had to be somewhere you could hide?
Your breathing picked up as you considered the futility of your options.
Sure, you could try hiding under a bed, or tuck yourself away in one of the closets or cupboards, but you knew heâd find you eventually. The only other option your scrambled mind could come up with was to escape out the back door and somehow hop the fence. Once you did that, you could hide out in the forest that surrounded the neighborhood.
From outside, you could hear the hum of the carâs engine die and one of its doors slamming shut.
With shaking legs you hurried to the back door and undid the locks before slipping outside. You closed the door softly behind you, wincing at the creaking sound it made. Your eyes once again darted around the yard, looking for something you could use to haul yourself over the side of the tall privacy fence. There was nothing, just a barren yard and some gardening tools scattered around. Beyond, the trees loomed above the fence to mock you - so close but out of reach.
You curse and can feel the rising panic as the idea of escape became more and more unlikely. Then, you notice that thereâs a section of the fence near the back of the yard where the wood has rotted and parts of the boards are missing. There are a few spots that look big enough to maybe use as a footholdâŚ
You pause.
Did⌠did you really want to run? Again? Just to start life over in another part of the world where no one knew who you were? Constantly looking over your shoulder for someone that, if you were being honest, you still craved to be near? You couldnât help but let the memories of all the lonely nights youâd spent in this house creep into your head. It was like a miasma; thick and cloying, surrounding your already muddled thoughts. Maybe⌠maybe things would be different this time. If you just stayed, maybe heâd-
Your thoughts cut off as you hear a muffled call of your name from inside the house. Suddenly, like a startled prey animal, youâre moving.
You ignore the shiver going up your spine from the deep timbre of his voice as he calls for you (have you ever heard him sound so⌠desperate?). After sprinting across the yard you practically throw yourself onto the fence and manage to slot your foot into one of the holes in the board. Miraculously, the decrepit wood holds your weight with only a few groans of protest.
Your fingers grip the top of the fence as you scramble to haul yourself up, wincing at the feeling of splinters digging into your hands. Thankfully, the small holes and divots in the wooden fence provide just enough traction for you get most of the way up. Just as youâre about to swing your leg over the top, thereâs a loud CRACK and your body suddenly jerks downwards. Your heart lurches as the rotted wood gives out from under you before you can even yelp in surprise.
Youâre expecting pain - maybe a bruised tailbone or a twisted ankle, but the pain doesnât come. After a few moments, you realize youâre being held up by two large hands around your waist. With your heart pounding in your ears, you donât hear Yandere shakily exhale in relief as he adjusts you in his arms, cradling you close to his chest.
You hadnât even heard him exit the house.
Your mind is reeling, trying to reorient yourself while sorting through a myriad of emotions. Your hand pushes against his chest and you try kicking your legs, but itâs futile. His hold on you is firm, bordering on painful, and his solid chest barely even twitches as you push and pound against it. Heâs cooing at you, murmuring soft words that your mind canât process at the moment. The clear lack of power you have in the situation makes you feel like a child throwing a tantrum. Tears of frustration prick at your eyes and you refuse to look up at him, feeling him staring down at you as you cry out and thrash around hopelessly. Eventually, the adrenaline wears off and exhaustion hits you like a sack of bricks. Your body slowly relaxes into his arms as you pant, the fight completely leaving you.
This was inevitable, wasnât it? Your life here, the freedom and independence youâd gained⌠it was never going to last.
Youâre brought out of your thoughts when Yandere leans his head down and touches his forehead to your temple. He nuzzles his nose against your cheek and lets out a deeply relieved, contented sigh.
âI got you love, Iâve got you.â he murmurs. His breath against your neck sends a shiver through you. He coos at you as you lay your head against his chest, too exhausted to do anything else but blink blearily up at him through teary eyes.
He looks almost the same as the last time youâd seen him. His eyes are piercing and warm, but you notice the new dark circles underneath. They flicker over your face, examining every detail as if he hadnât already committed it to memory countless times before.
You open your mouth to say something. Maybe to try and explain yourself, or justify your reasons for leaving. Maybe just to tell him to let you go. Before you can get a word out, though, heâs ducking down to press firm but tender kisses to your cheek.
âGod⌠canât believe I finally found you.â He murmurs between kisses, his voice growing shakier. âMissed you. Missed you so much.â
The stab of guilt that hits you is sudden, but expected. Youâd wrestled with the feeling for the first few weeks after your escape, wondering if you were being silly and should return to him. Despite your desire to leave, you did love him. You knew he would be hurting and worried sick if you didnât at least figure out a way to let him know you were okay. You never did, though. Opting to keep quiet and live peacefully on your own, too scared of slipping up somehow and giving him anything he could use to find your location. Too scared to give up this peaceful little life you had made all on your own.
And after all of that, you had to shamefully admit to yourself that being in his arms again felt⌠good.
Yandere pulls away to look you over one more time before a gentle smile forms on his face.
âCâmon, my love.â he murmurs, turning with you in his arms and walking slowly, carefully, back towards the house. âYou look exhausted. Letâs get you in the bath, yeah?â
You donât respond, simply laying quietly against him and listening to his quickened heartbeat. He steps through the back door, still open from when he probably flung it open to catch you earlier. After a few steps inside, he pauses, looking around the kitchen and living room and then back down at you.
âUhm⌠bathroom?â He asks in a quiet voice, as if afraid of breaking the stillness in the house. Or, more likely, afraid of triggering you into fleeing again.
You swallow before nodding your head towards a hallway to the left, âFirst door on the left.â
âŚ
The bath is actually really, really nice. Your Yandere had fumbled around a bit trying to locate where youâd placed your towels and bath supplies while the clawfoot tub filled with warm water. He knew you, though, so it wasnât long before he came back with an armful of your preferred items and some fluffy towels.
Heâd loaded the bath with soaps and oils while you sat waiting on the bathroom counter. Then, heâd helped you strip out of your dirty gardening clothes, his fingers gently brushing across your skin as each garment was removed. There wasnât the usual dark hint of lust you would have expected in his gaze. Instead, heâd eyed your body appreciatively⌠Reverently. His eyes traced over every mole, every freckle, every stretch mark and scar and scrape and bruise. You couldnât tell if heâd just been truly admiring or if he was cataloguing all the new (or perhaps previously under-appreciated) aspects of you.
After his inspection he had helped you lower yourself into the warm, sudsy bath. He sat hunched over on a small stool near your head, trying to be as close to you as possible without getting in the water. His admiration/inspection continued as he gently scrubbed at your skin with a rag and soap and ran shampoo-covered fingers through your hair, clearing you of the sweat and grime youâd accumulated earlier in the day.
The silence was heavy, but somehow comfortable. You didnât want to break it. You didnât know what youâd say if you did.
As he was rinsing you off, you couldnât help but notice how right he looked in this space. In your space. Just having him nearby, filling the room with his strong and familiar presence⌠Why had you escaped and lived alone for all these months?
âYou picked a beautiful house for us, love.â He murmured suddenly, wringing the washcloth heâd used to scrub your skin.
You hummed quietly before processing what he said. Your head turned towards him sluggishly, feeling comfortable and drowsy from being so lovingly doted on after months of near isolation.
ââŚFor us?â you asked quietly.
He set the washcloth aside and looked over at you, folding his arms over the lip of the tub. He leaned on one arm while the other reached out to caress your face, stroking your jaw and the apple of your cheek tenderly. âOf course for us,â he chuckled, as if any other possibility not involving the both of you was absurd. âThis house is the perfect foundation for our new home. Good size, quiet neighborhood, big backyard.â âAnd it smells like you. Like home,â he thought, though he kept that to himself.
A small smile found its way to your lips and your heart thrummed in your chest at his praise. Why were you so glad he approved of it? Werenât you just trying to escape into the woods to hide from this man? Hadnât there been a reason youâd done all this?
âŚThose were thoughts for another time.
Regardless of why you ran, you had been caught, and you knew better than to think youâd be slipping through his fingers again. You had missed him, and trying to sort through the complicated array of emotions Yandere brought with him was not something you had the capacity to tackle at the moment.
He brought the hand of the arm he was leaning on to the back of your head, his fingers threading through your wet hair as he slowly pulled your face towards him while still cradling your cheek with the other hand. His lips found yours and you sighed, enjoying the familiar taste and feel of him after so long. Soft hums and grunts of approval bounced lightly off the walls as you both melted into eachother, his hold on you growing slightly firmer. Slightly more possessive. Surprisingly he allowed you to pull away after a few moments, huffing deeply through his nose and staring down at you with those warm, intense eyes.
âI love you. I love you.â he breathes out, his forehead touching yours and his gaze unwavering.
You can feel tears starting to prick at your eyes as you stare back, holding his gaze.
ââŚI love you too.â You murmur, because the alternative would be a lie.

đŠđđ˘đŤđ˘đ§đ . scoups x stylist!reader
đŹđ˛đ§đ¨đŠđŹđ˘đŹ. you find yourself caught off guard by the growing attraction between you and their intense leader, s.coups.
đđ¨đ§đđđ§đđŹ. fluff, not proofread.
đş.đšđśđđ
the bass rattled the floor as seventeen thundered through their final run-through for the upcoming concert. you tapped your foot along, clipboard clutched in your hand, critiquing the boys' outfits from your vantage point in the corner. your gaze landed on s.coups, the leader, his intense focus as he rapped drawing you in. he always wore his passion on his sleeve, radiating an energy that was both captivating and intimidating.
suddenly, a voice beside you broke your concentration. it was miyoung, one of the stylists, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "ever noticed how s.coups looks at you?"
heat flooded your cheeks. "h-how does he look at me?" you stammered, trying to sound nonchalant.
miyoung's smile widened. "like he never wants to look away. you know, that intense leader stare, but softer around the edges."
your heart did a little flip-flop. s.coups? looking at you with something...more? you mentally replayed recent interactions, searching for a sign, a hint of something beyond leader-to-stylist professionalism. maybe his smiles lingered a beat too long, or maybe it was just wishful thinking.
"maybe he just appreciates the work?," you mumbled, the suggestion sounding weak even to your own ears.
miyoung snorted. "right, because his gaze lingers on jeonghan the same way while he adjusts his collar?"
you bit your lip. jeonghan, the elegant vocalist, was s.coups' closest friend. their interactions were easy and familiar, a world away from the way s.coups seemed to focus on you sometimes. doubt gnawed at the budding hope in your chest.
just then, s.coups let out a frustrated groan, stopping the music. "hold on," he called to the rest of the group, striding off the stage. your breath hitched as he walked to
wards you, his powerful presence filling the room.
"what's up, cheol?" you asked, trying to keep your voice steady.
he ran a hand through his hair, messing up the carefully styled curls. "just felt a little off in the last part. maybe the jacket's restricting my movement?"
you studied him, then reached for your clipboard, flipping through pages. "hmm, maybe. we could try swapping it with the one you wore during practice yesterday."
s.coups' eyes met yours, a hesitant question flickering in their depths. it was more than a quick glance, almost an exploration, and your heart hammered against your ribs. "that would be great," he said finally, his voice low and husky.
you suppressed a shiver, feeling a blush creep up your neck. "okay, i'll have someone bring it over right away." you turned to call for an assistant, but s.coups' voice stopped you.
"actually," he began, leaning in closer, his voice barely a whisper, "maybe you could bring it?"
the air crackled with unspoken possibilities. did he...want to be alone with you? was this a sign, or was your imagination running wild? just as you were about to reply, a loud voice boomed across the room.
"hey, hyung! gotta get back to practice!" hoshi, the energetic main dancer, bounced over, effectively shattering the charged moment.
s.coups straightened up, a faint smile playing on his lips. "right, practice. see you in a bit, y/n."
â・ďžâď¸ď˝Ąâ・ ďžâž ďžď˝Ąâ
you hurried down the hallway, the spare jacket clutched in your arms. miyoung's teasing words echoed in your mind, fueling the frantic butterflies in your stomach. did s.coups really want to be alone with you? the thought both terrified and excited you.
reaching his designated dressing room, you took a deep breath and knocked softly. briefly, you worried he might have changed his mind, but then the door creaked open to reveal s.coups, a surprised look on his face. he was clad in just a tank top and sweatpants, the sculpted lines of his arms catching you off guard. heat flooded your cheeks, and you stammered, "cheollie, i brought the jacket."
he chuckled, his smile warm and inviting. "thanks, y/n. come in." he held the door open wider, gesturing for you to enter.
you hesitated, unsure of the protocol. stepping into a member's dressing room during a change of clothes probably wasn't standard practice. yet, the way he was looking at you, the vulnerability exposed in his attire, made it feel strangely intimate.
taking a tentative step inside, you held the jacket out to him. "here you go. it shouldn't restrict your movement at all."
he reached for it, but instead of taking it, his hand brushed against yours. you flinched, the unexpected contact sending a jolt through you. s.coups' gaze dropped to your hand, then back to your eyes. a shy smile played on his lips.
"actually," he said, his voice a low rumble, "maybe you could help me put it on?"
your breath hitched. help him put on a jacket? in his dressing room, with the door closed? your heart pounded against your ribs, a wild mix of nervousness and something else entirely. was this his way of acting on whatever unspoken feelings might be simmering between you?
before you could stammer out a reply, s.coups took another step closer, the space between you shrinking significantly. the scent of his cologne, a mixture of citrus and something warm and musky, filled your senses. his eyes, a deep brown, seemed to hold a question, an invitation.
you swallowed hard, your mind racing. this was a line you could easily cross, but what lay on the other side? taking a deep breath, you met his gaze, a tiny spark of defiance mixed with a growing sense of curiosity.
"alright," you whispered, the word barely audible.
a slow smile spread across s.coups' face, his eyes gleaming with what could be interpreted as amusement or something more. as you stepped closer, ready to help him into the jacket, the door suddenly swung open, revealing jun, the group's resident prankster, a mischievous grin plastered on his face.
"hey s.coups, just checking in â" jun's eyes widened as they took in the scene. "oh, uh... maybe i'll come back later?"
the moment was shattered, leaving you frozen in place with a blush burning across your cheeks. s.coups, his chest still bare, glanced at you, a hint of frustration battling with a flicker of something more in his eyes.
"yeah," he muttered, his voice husky. "later would be good, jun."

Š jaylver 2023
âWHY AM I HERE?â
You found yourself asking your best friend, Minji, only after barely ten minutes of setting foot into the party. Look, you didnât wish to complain, but a beach party basically equaled sand in shoes, which you absolutely hate and despise, yet you were stuck here against your will.
It all started on a random stroll across campus where Minji brought up the night beach party hosted by some rich frat boy, typical. Being the anti-party person you were, you brushed the idea away initially. Hey, staying in bed with a cup of tea was miles better than having sand in your shoes and frat boys trying to get into your pants, yuck. But eventually, you gave into the idea of relaxing and letting go for once after a horrid chemistry test. How you absolutely regretted that choice now.
âYouâre here to enjoy yourself,â Minji hissed through her teeth, holding onto your hand as the two of you walked past strangers. âWhatâs wrong with getting free booze and some hot hunky beach boys?â
âEverything is wrong with that. Their booze sucks and the beach boys hide at night,â you huffed, hugging your body tight as the wind blew across your face, the smell of sea lingered in the air.
âThere are still some cute guys here,â Minji kicked at the sand lightly, staring around where people were littered in groups here and there, a small bonfire alighted in the middle of the beach. âThe hockey guys are here,â she nodded at the loudest bunch in the area.
You knew a part of them since you did occasionally stop by to watch a few major hockey games, but definitely not well enough to pair their names to their faces. You spotted the captain first and the one with freshly dyed white hair, who you recognized was also his usual partner on ice, then there was the player with a really odd number, 99. Was it Jason, James or Jeremy? All you could remember was him being number 99 and having a J name, not to mention, an interesting reputation to his name.
"They're cute, don't you think so?" Minji nudged you and you shrugged.
"Cute but fuckboys, and I need them to step up during major games too,"
"You should ignore the hockey part about them. It'll hurt less when they lose," Minji's head turned and she pointed to another group. "The footballers are there too. Trust me, they're bigger fuckboys,"
"Oh, I can tell," you spotted many of them already having a girl by their sides, whispering and giggling while they poured each other more drinks. "This is why I'd rather go back to the dorms,"
"Maybe, maybe not. Something entertaining will eventually happen at these types of parties,"
"I feel like you'll jinx it,"
Minji threw her hands up in defence, raising her eyebrows and shrugging. "Don't blame me, blame the system,"
"There's no system," you shot back, suddenly feeling the need to walk away for a moment as the beach slowly overwhelmed you. (you hated the beach, can't you already tell?) "I need to stop by the restroom for a while, look after my drink, will you?"
You were practically racing to the nearby restroom, finally escaping the area and being able to breathe freely without drunk college students bumping into you. The restroom was basically just a single cubicle, so you were squeezed tightly and you felt uncomfortable as each second passed. You were praying to God that you get to leave this place pronto.Â
Leaving the cubicle made you feel slightly more grateful about the beach, but upon only a second from exiting, you started hearing shouts coming not far from where you were. At first, you wondered if youâve reached the point of hallucination, but following a few more grunts and yells, you knew you werenât. Your body tensed immediately considering it's a distance from the main area. What could even be happening here?
You knew this was how horror movies usually start, but your curious mind just had to wander off further into the abyss and bring your leg along, so you chose the stupidest decision and followed the distant commotion.
'I'm not dying tonight. I'm not dying at a beach. I'm going to be fine' were the affirmations you repeated in your head, though you felt quite the opposite of that.
"Fuck you, are you banging my girl?"
That was when you stopped in your tracks completely, thrown absolutely off guard, eyes widened and lips forming into an 'O'. It wasn't a murder case, but from the way the conversation sounded, it was about to be one.
"I didn't bang your girl, who the fuck are you?" Another voice spat back and you inched closer, hiding behind the other cubicle and you peeked your head out, shocked at the sight before you.Â
There was already a small crowd surrounding the commotion, who wouldn't want to miss a free show anyway? But the bigger matter on hand was the centre of attention, the two guys were the campus' well known hockey player and footballer.Â
You recognized the footballer at once, remembering the time where Minji practically shoved his Instagram profile into your face. Yoon Keeho. Star player paired along with his amazing features, he was a popular figure who had a popular girlfriend from the dance team, Karina. They were basically every comics' perfect couple.
Then there was the hockey player, your jaw could only hang lower in plain shock. Mr 99, hockey star and infamous playboy, you knew he was trouble, but this kind of trouble? A little unexpected from him.
"Look man, I know people say I fuck around a lot, but I never fucked her!" It was obvious Mr 99 was starting to get heated, but the footballer was relentless in egging him on.
"Oh fuck off man, I know you did it!"
This back and forth had you rolling your eyes, eventually getting bored from the âno I didn'tâs and âyes you didâs thrown back and forth, so you slowly crept back, trying your best to avoid tripping over rocks and shells.
'Crack'Â
You spoke too soon. Way too soon.
"Hey!"
You took a few cautious steps ahead. Maybe if you just pretend nothing happened and continue walking, it would be fine. Maybe if you walked away, he wouldn't noticeâ
"Hey!"
You squeezed your eyes shut, contemplating between immediate death or a quick dash away, but neither could be decided when the voice kept on calling after you, ruining your patience completely and you whipped around, looking like a deer caught in headlights.Â
"Yes?"
Mr 99 stared back at you, a sinister look in his eyes. From the looks of it, he had something evil brewing in that head of his and soon, you were about to be the victim of his dodgy plan.
What came out of his lips next definitely made you wish you were home instead and simultaneously, wishing you had the freedom to strangle him. This fuckerâ
"That's my girlfriend there, she can vouch for me," you heard him telling Keeho, a smug smile on his face. Girl ⌠friend? Gasps were heard and all eyes were on you in an instance. "Come here, babe, I've been looking for you!"
You blinked, your body absolutely rigid and unmoving as if paralysed. This couldn't be happening, right? Please wake me up from this dream. I'm just hallucinatingâ
"Babe, come on," your brief dissociation had you completely unaware that Mr 99 was now in front of you, dragging you by your wrist towards the scene of commotion.Â
"What are you doing?" You whispered harshly into his ear, making sure it wasn't loud enough for the other couple to realise from a distance away.
"Play along, please, I'll pay you," he pleaded, desperation clear in his voice. Who were you to say no to free cash? Nevertheless, you still hated being the centre of attention, and Mr 99 here was only making matters worse.
"I don't even know you,"
"I'm Jay from literature, so technically now you do. Just help me for a few minutes," he grunted through his gritted teeth, flashing his best version of puppy eyes that failed to execute its purpose.Â
âDo you even know my name?â you hissed lowly, glaring pointedly at him. He could only sigh in exasperation. He had the audacity to seem annoyed while you were literally the one whoâs getting dragged to her demise.Â
âYouâre Y/N from English literature. We have the same classes and Iâm not a douche for not knowing my classmates, okay?â you were slightly pleased, but not enough to be someoneâs fake girlfriend for show. Against your free will, you and Jay were finally standing face to face with the couple.Â
"So you're his girlfriend?" Keeho had an eyebrow raised, a sense of accusation and suspicion in his gaze. He was so not buying this.
You glanced at Jay, face twisted in uneasiness, not loving the idea of this, but instead, he shot you an encouraging look which was screaming 'go on, tell him'. "Yâyeah. Girlfriend,"
Keeho was unconvinced and you couldn't blame him, you were doing a shit job at pretending to be someone you weren't. "Where was your boyfriend yesterday at night? Was he out?"
"Heâ" the words got stuck in your throat and Jay raised his eyebrows at you, mouthing some random words you totally couldn't decipher. "He went out on a date with me,"
"To?"
"Baskin Robbins "
Keeho remained unamused, his girlfriend holding onto him snickering silently under her breath, and you, on the other hand, got naturally defensive.
"What's wrong with ice cream? At least my man cared enough to bring me out for ice cream dates instead of letting me cheat on him freely. Just saying,"
"What?"
Now it was Keeho and Jay's turn to stare at you with their jaws hung low. Karina's face gradually grew scarlet, her lips twisted into a snarl. "What do you even know about my relationship? Keep out of my business, you bitch,"
"Hey, who the fuck are you to call her a bitch?" Jay stepped in front of you, an arm shielding you and Karina cowered away. Damn, he was good at this.
"Don't talk to her like that, you fuck," Keeho spat at Jay, daringly pushing Jay on the chest and he stumbled slightly into your arms.Â
Jay scoffed, brushing his front and adjusted his shirt, shaking his head a little. "You're such a dick, Yoon Keeho. You're the prime example why I hate footballers,"
"And you hockey players are the reason why you're dragging the school's name to the ground,"
"Save the talk, we literally won the playoffs while you and your team could barely crawl to the topâ"
You gasped, and so did everyone else watching. Keeho had thrown a hard punch across Jay's pretty face, which meant Jay's aggravation unfortunately worked a little too well on the footballer.Â
To your surprise, Jay took the hit better than you'd expected. He did seem taken aback at the start, but then he started laughing instead. Was he secretly psychotic?
You would be lying if you said you weren't shell shocked initially, but after a moment of recovery, you peeked over his shoulder, staring at his face for any obvious bleeding or bruising, unaware of how close your face was to his.
"You okay, big man?"
"Took it like a champ," he muttered back, a smirk pulled at his lips, seeming as though nothing had even happened. "Permission for me to punch him back, girlfriend?"
"He's all yours. Go beat his ass, boyfriend,"
Jay shrugged nonchalantly, rubbing the side of his face roughly and in a flash, he threw a punch back at Keeho and panicked whispers broke out in the crowd.
"Look man, this is a misunderstanding, I totally didn't fuck your girlfriend," Jay panted, his eyes narrowing at Karina.Â
"Don't look at me like that," she snapped back, but her voice wavered, giving away the fact that she was obviously hiding something and was intimidated by the way Jay could see right through her.
"Oh come on, fess up, I'm pretty sure I saw you with Yeonjun,"Â
Karina stilled, her eyes beginning to twitch. Bingo. You didnât sit through a boring psychology talk once for nothing.
"You don't know shit about me,"
"Okay, say that to Yeonjun the next time he finds you,"Â
Maybe you did regret having too big of a mouth. You just had to blabber on and agitate the mean girl and now you were reenacting a scene from one of your favourite high school rom coms.Â
Before you could even register what's happening, you felt a sharp tug at your hair and pain washed over your whole head. Getting bald wasn't the thing you wished for upon reaching here. You screamed on instinct, reaching over to grab Karina's hair in defence, invoking a loud cry from her.
Jay and Keeho were left stunned at the turn of events. Hell, you were stunned at the attack yourself. Who would've thought you would be sacrificing strands of hair to Miss Dancer? They eventually came to their senses (thank heavens) and tried to pull you and Karina off of each other. It was strenuous work just trying to break you two apart, your hand was unwilling to let go and neither were hers.
She mightâve been a dancer, but youâve experienced more fights than this. Jay managed to rip you off of Karina and you were left dishevelled, heaving heavily, Jay's hands wrapped around your chest from the back.
"Calm down. Breathe. You're so close to ripping all her hair out," he whispered into your ear, his breath fanning your ears. If you weren't so out of breath and adrenaline spiked, you would be weak in the knees by now.Â
"Good. She was the one who laid her hands on me first," you spat, glaring straight at her and she did the same, hair and attire equally as messy as yours.Â
"Look man," Jay called out to Keeho, grabbing his attention away from his murderous girlfriend. "I might fuck around a lot, but I swear I didn't touch your girl. I never stoop that low and you know it. Go ask her for the truth yourself, I'm leaving now,"
Jay got ahold of your hand and pulled you away from the wandering eyes and lingering attention. You almost got a whiplash, unable to even yourself completely together and digest what even went on before he dragged you towards the main area.Â
"Woah, woah, wait," you yanked your arm away, stopping abruptly which made Jay turn around, a questioning look on his face. Why is he looking at me like that? You thought as you crossed your arms.
"Look, you might've saved my ass from Miss Crazy over there, but the part where you dragged me in your stupid drama, so not cool,"Â
"I know, I'm sorry, okay? You were just coincidentally ⌠there,"
"Wow," you exclaimed in disbelief, face scrunched in slight distaste. "Girlfriend, huh ⌠I hate to burst your bubble but there were people there and ifâ" you poked at his chest and he stared at you, a slight smirk on his lips, "âpeople actually believe we're dating, I'll beat you up,"
"What's so wrong about me?" He whistled, leaning down to meet your challenging gaze, a sarcastic grin wide on that devilish face of his. Maybe if he wasn't this annoying, you would've found him pants-dropping hot.
"I hate you," you continued your journey back, brushing past him and he could only let out a laugh at your words.
"Oh, come on," he caught your wrist and pulled you to him, making you land on his chest with a soft thud. If only someone could take a picture of this, it would be something straight out of a 2000s classic romcom.
"You're ridiculous, let go," you tried to get your hand out of his, but he persisted in holding onto you.Â
Pushing and pulling was something you hated. Whether it was in relationships or just whatever this was, you wished it was gone, because in the next second of tug of war, one of you decided to lose balance and fall to ground.
To your biggest nightmare and headache, you ended up lying on top of Mr 99, Jay, the devil in disguise. The beach was already a nightmare for you, but a fucking man under you? You wished you could disappear now.
"Do you always like this position?"Â
"If only I could choke you to death in it, then sure,"
"Kinky. You're really romantic,"
"I know," you gritted out, finally mustering all your energy to push yourself up and away from Jay, almost losing your balance in the process. You definitely wouldn't want to fall on him again.
You dusted sand off of your shorts, peeking slightly at Jay, who remained on the ground, his hands behind his head to support him as his stare remained on you, a small smile on his face. You truly wondered what was running through that head of his. Knowing him, it was probably nothing good.
âDo you think weâll meet again after this?â
You scoffed, a frown etched on your features. âYouâre acting like Iâm cinderella. Iâm on the campus,â
âI mean, we both might be on campus, but that doesnât mean weâll cross path,â
âIt sounds like youâre trying to propose somethingââ Jay opened his mouth to respond, but you continued off, not letting him interrupt, ââwhatever it is, itâs a ânoâ from me, okay?â
âAlright, rude,â Jay pushed his body up from the sands, sitting cross legged paired with an offended look. âIâm not trying to propose anything. Whatâs that dirty mind of yours thinking? I was simply wondering,â
You squinted at him, doubt in your gaze and your face scrunched, humming softly. âLetâs leave our next meeting to fate again. Iâm afraid if I keep seeing you I mightââ
âFall in love?â
âExplode. Close enough,â you grimaced, shaking the sand off your shoes. "Look, I'm leaving now. Good luck on not getting beat up again," you turned to leave, but halting once Jay spoke again.
"Will I be seeing you at my matches?"
You pondered for a second, then shrugged. "Depends. I'm not a big hockey fan, but who knows?"
You heard a small chuckle from Jay, rolling your eyes a little. "Fine by me. Let's see how fate sets us up then, Y/N."
You wished fate didn't set you and him up. You wished fate would never ever do so. You didnât wait for another minute and quickly dashed away, finding your way back to the main area that (thankfully) wasnât far from where you were. It seemed that the fight didnât reach the main area where everyone was from the way they were all dancing and drinking like normal.
âWhere were you?â Minji pulled you close to her once you had managed to locate her amongst the bunch, concern laced in her voice. âAnd what the fuck happened to you? Whyâs your hair messed up? Waitââ the worry in her gaze soon turned into suspicion. âYou didnât have a secret hookup right?â
âWhat? No!â you shrieked, glancing around in slight embarrassment at your voice rising unintentionally. Just thinking about what had happened just now gave you a first degree burn of embarrassment, it was going to be your first and last experience, never again. âI ⌠got into a fight,â
âYou what?â
âListen,â you placed a hand on Minjiâs shoulder, trying to calm her down while inching closer and making sure to keep your voice down. âI stumbled upon a messy couple related drama and somehow I got roped into it. Itâs all Jong Seongâs fault, okay?â
âJay? What did he do?â
âAccused of fucking Keehoâs girl. It would be funny to witness the whole thing without being apart of it, honestly,â
âI need more context,â
âHe called me his girlfriend so that I could vouch for him and I said something bad to Keehoâs girlfriend so we ⌠kinda got into a tussle,â
Minji was stunned to say the least, but there was still a hint of amusement from the way she smiled. âI wonât directly say she deserves it, but she does,â she let out a small laugh and you two shared a look before bursting out laughing, having to hold your chest from the random jokes she threw in between.
âSo, time for us to leave?â
âFucking finally, I was waiting for you to say this,â
âNo girls trips to the beach in the future, huh?â
âNope.â you mumbled, letting Minji wrap an arm around your waist as the both of you start making your way to Minjiâs car. You strangely felt a pair of wandering eyes pinpointed on you and you turned your head slightly to the right, meeting Jayâs playful gaze among his group of hockey guys. It was barely a second before you were dragged away anyway, leaving you minimal chances to process anything.
Park Jong Seong, please donât ever drag me into your schemes ever again. Fuck it, letâs never cross paths again.
IT SEEMS THAT FATE HAS PLAYED ITS ROLE ONCE MORE IN TORTURING YOU.
In what way was ânever getting involved with Park Jong Seongâ so hard to understand, huh, fate? You found yourself having an angry internal monologue on the way back to your dorms, your coffee threatening to spill out of the cup with the aggressiveness in your walk. It all started out like this: you just got your donut for the morning, walking to lecture with your earphones blasting your favourite music, what could possibly go wrong? Everything.
You were just walking as per usual, until a girl tapped you from the back, and like every normal person does, you stopped and turned around, a confused look on your face. Whoâs this? You wondered. Thatâs the last thought you could form before everything started crumbling eventually.
First, she asked whether you were dating Jay. Eye roll. You knew this was bound to happen. So, you said ânoâ, which was a reasonable answer since you were, in fact, not dating him. But the girl thought otherwise. You turned to leave, halfway to shoving back your earphones in when she grabbed hold of your wrist. Woah.Â
âI know youâre dating him, everyone do after he made yâall official during that party,â
âOkayâŚ?â it was no use trying to fight back with her persistence, so you just went along with it, not knowing what you were even getting into.
âYou do know he fucked me before rightâ?â TMI much. âCan you tell him to come over and get his stuff? It feels wrong having a manâs stuff around knowing heâs in a relationship,â
âOh,â was all you could muster out. This whirlwind of information being smacked into your face at 10 in the morning was something you hadnât expected. âYou can tell him that yourself. Iâm ⌠busy. I have to go,â
Like any sane person would, you dashed away, possibly leaving the girl in a confused daze but you couldnât care less, pulling out your phone to angrily type Jayâs Instagram handle and sending him an annoyed text message.
you: a girl just told me she fucked you and she felt it was wrong that you left your stuff while youâre âdatingâ me. can you please sort this out? istg iâve been asked too many times whether iâm dating you today fr
Not even after a minute of sending that, Jay replied back at once.Â
jaypjs: how did you know what my Insta profile is?
You rolled your eyes, your fingers working hard but careful to not accidentally break your screen with the vigour you had whilst typing.
you: is that so important right now? can you at least answer my question?
jaypjs: just ignore it, itâll pass soon, i swear. ttyl i have practice ;)Â
Jerk.Â
As much as Jay had asked you to ignore it, it seemed to have backfired instead. At the library, cafeteria, girlâs restroom, you were bombarded with the same question over and over again. âAre you dating Jay?â You swore if you had a dollar everytime someone had asked you this question, you wouldâve been a billionaire by now.
Evening soon fell upon the campus grounds, students were rushing around to find a place for dinner, but the hockey team were still remained in training, and being you, you just had to impulsively barge into the arena, practically rushing down the stairs to the glass panes, spotting your target at first glance.Â
You would be lying if you said you didnât find him mesmerizingly attractive in that split moment. He reminded you of someone that had just appeared straight out of a scene from âTop Gunâ, except on ice. He had his helmet in his hand, his hair wet with sweat, his eyes trained on his coach as he lectured the team on that and this.
You thought your staring had gone unnoticed, but thatâs when one of his teammates pointed at you, his gaze turning to you now, a hint of curiosity and surprise in his face. If only he knew you were actually there to murder him.
âY/N?â You heard his muffled voice through the glass as he skated towards you right after his coach had dismissed them, inching closer and closer until there was barely any distance, only a singular glass pane separating you two apart.
âJay,â you started, pushing down whatever volcano that was close to bursting inside you right now.Â
âDid my girlfriend miss me so much until she decided to give me a surprise visit?â
âIf I hear that word one more time today, I think I might jump down the nearest building,â you snapped, poking a finger on the glass threateningly. âLook, Iâm here because we need to talkâwhy does this sound like an actual couple conversationâwhatever, just get your ass out here immediately,â
âFine, fine,â Jay threw his hands up in defeat, sensing the seriousness in your voice, you did not come to play. âIâll be out in a second,â
He disappeared out of sight, and to your dismay, that left his teammates a great opportunity to approach you. Just your luck, huh?
âYouâre dating Jay?â the captain, Heeseung, shouted over at you, waving his hockey stick in the air in an attempt to grab your attention.
âItâs complicated,â
âFriends with benefits?â the one with a head of freshly dyed white hair, Sunghoon, chimed in. You recognized the both of them from the party, what are the odds?
âNon-physical type of complicated,â
âThat does sound complicated,â Heeseung hummed, practising passes with Sunghoon. âPlayed with your feelings?â
âI donât know if I can count it as thatâŚyet,â
Heeseung and Sunghoon shared a brief glance at one another. âJay might be a playboy, we all know that, but heâs a softie at heart. Hear him out, he might not look like it, but heâs the best at talking,â
âThatâs why heâs so good at picking up girlsââ Heeseung slapped Sunghoonâs head, giving you a small reassuring smile while the other winced in pain, not appreciating that one bit.
âIâll hear him out, donât worry,â you said rather begrudgingly, sitting down on one of the empty seats now, rubbing your hands for warmth as you awkwardly waited for Jay.
âStop pestering her already, damn,â Jayâs footsteps were heard thumping down the stairs in the empty arena. âGo wash up,â he slid into the seat next to you, now in clean clothes, a towel hung around his neck, his hair wet and messy, his shirt hugging his body and biceps tight. Lord, give me strength.
âHey! Iâm the captain!â Heeseung shouted, but abided, pushing Sunghoon along and out of the rink, leaving you two to yourselves in the ambiance.
âSo, what did you want to ⌠talk about?â Jay stared at you expectantly.
âUs? I suppose, if thereâs even an âusâ in the first place,â you gestured between you and him. âItâs just everyoneâs thinking weâre together and all your past fuck buddies are up my ass for it. Soââ you tried to put on the nicest smile you could muster. ââcould you please, somehow spread it around that weâre not together?â
âBut what if I donât want to?â
âJong Seong!â
âGovernment name and all, itâs serious,â he murmured under his breath, suddenly seeming anxious. âYouâre going to kill me for thisââ
âAs if Iâm not going to already,â
âLet me finish,â he pressed a hand on his forehead, running it further back into his hair and he let out a distress sigh. âI know youâre going to hate this but I need your favour in this. I have this hockey event next Saturday, a charity event, and I need a plus one,â
âYouâre asking me out on a date basically?â
âKinda? But not reallyâthis is so stupidâbut this event will be after a home match, so our opponents and many others from different schools will be a part of this event. The thing isâŚour opponent, one of their players, is dating my ex,â
âAnd?â you raised an eyebrow at him, urging him to continue on, his cheeks gradually turning red in embarrassment.
âTheyâll be there together, and I was hopingâsince weâre already in this messâto bring you as my plus one, to try and prove to her Iâm way better off without her,â
âYouâre kidding,â you breathed out in disbelief. âGive me one reason why you need to prove to this girl about you being happy and taken,â
âShe cheated on me multiple times while we were datingâŚthe guy was one of them and theyâre still together surprisingly,â
âDamn, Iâm sorry about that,â you swallowed, a little taken aback from the fact that the infamous fuckboy had his heart broken in the past. Maybe that was the starting point of his fuckboy journey. Gosh, everything felt so cliche, you thought you were in a web series by now. âSoâŚyou want me to fake date you?â
âWhy are you saying it as if the idea of dating me is an offence?â
âJay, this isnât some 2000s romcom, for fuckâs sake,â you snapped, your frown deepened and your blood pressure heightened. You swear you might actually explode soon.
âIâm aware,â Jay sighed, a small whine in his voice. He did seem desperate, and you wondered why out of a hundred girls that were practically lining up for this man, you just had to be the one that had to be a part of this mess with him. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Worst of all, you were about to agree to something as dumb as this. âHelp me out this once?â
âAnd what will I get from this?â you crossed your arms, hesitatingly giving in slowly and gradually.
âYou like Juyeon donât you?â Jay questioned all of a sudden, his features remained stoic and serious as he watched you experiencing another whiplash, cheeks turning into a shade of light pink at his bombarding question.
âWâwhere did you get that information from?â you demanded, completely thrown off. Look, you did say you liked him a little from his sweet smile to his nice style, and not to mention, his athletic side, but it was to Minji, not Jay. How in hell could he have this information?
âIâm not wrong am I?â
âAm I being blackmailed?â you gasped and Jay rolled his eyes, leaning further back into his seat. He wasnât making this easier by looking good. âI donât like like him in that type of way, I just think heâs kinda cute,â
âSo, youâre interested,â
âYou could put it that way, I guess?â
âHow about I help you make him jealous,âÂ
You choked out a laugh, Jay surely succeeded in always surprisingly you with the way his mind turned. âDude, I literally only know him from that one Chemistry class, and we were partners once. We barely talk now except some greetings,â
âThatâs better than nothing,â he mumbled, his lips pressed in a flat line. âHey, I know him more, okay? He goes to parties and so do I, I can help you get closer to him,â Jay raised his eyebrows, as if trying to convince you that was the smartest plan ever.
âYouâre an idiot,â
âI donât hear a ânoâ,âÂ
âDonât push your luck,â you poked his forehead gently, letting out a deep sigh as you contemplated for a second. Future you was going to kill the present you. âFine. But honestly, I donât care about Juyeon,â
âIâll try my best to repay you either way,â Jay beamed, his whole demeanour changing entirely compared to the nervous and shaking version from earlier. âSo, what ground rules should we set to make it at least quite convincing?â
âNo kissing, unless we are pressured into one,â
âYouâre not completely objecting the idea of kissing me,â
âBelieve me, Iâd rather have virgin lips than kiss you,â
âOuch,â Jay held onto his chest, feigning hurt. âWanna try practising?â
âYou have other girls to practise on anyway, no thank you,â
âBut youâre my only girl now,â he shrugged, staring down at his fingers and avoiding your stare. Was he shy? You would be lying if you said he didnât make your heart flutter slightly with his words, but you forced yourself to push those thoughts down, denying them instantly.
"Shush," you rolled your eyes, the man opposite you snickering instead. "Maybe a soft launch might work,"
"I literally called you my girlfriend in the middle of a fight, I don't think that's any part of a soft launch,"
"You're right, we've already skipped that part," you tapped at your chin, pondering thoughtfully before Jay interjected.
"You have to come to my matches,"
"Every one of them? I don't watch hockey much,"
"Just be there for show, most of the teammates' girlfriends are there and trust me, they don't care much either," he glanced over at the rink for a brief moment, then turned back to meet your eyes. "You'll fall in love with me the moment you watch me play,"
"Alright, hotshot. When's the next match?"
âThis Friday,â he winked, resting an arm on the seat and casually leaning a little closer. âBut before that, wanna come to a party? Itâs pretty much a âpregame partyâ, thatâs what they call it, but Iâm sure itâs a lame excuse to just have a party in general for every week. I can pick you up though, we'll get to have our second hard launch,â
âYouâre lucky Iâm not feeling murderous anymore,â you snapped back, still in disbelief at yourself that you actually agreed to all this. âPick me up at 7,â you mumbled begrudgingly, watching a smile stretched on Jayâs face.
âSay less.â
âYOUâRE DATING WHOââ
Spilling the tea to Minji on a random Wednesday morning was a chaotic decision. You couldn't help yourself from letting loose all of the information that was bottled up internally. She took everything in rather calmly and fairly, that was until Jay's name was mentioned.
It was just a day before the party, and you couldn't lie, you're starting to panic. What if you didn't know anyone there? What if you're under dressed? What if you're overdressed? What ifs stormed your mind, you were a natural overthinker after all.
"Fake dating," you corrected, cringing once the words left your mouth and you realised how ridiculous it sounded.
âI didnât know you liked Wattpad cliches so much,â
"Shut up," you muttered half-heartedly, pursing your lips slightly. "Do you think I'll regret this?"
"Will you end up falling for him?" Minji shot back and you hadn't expected that.Â
"God forbid," you chuckled, though rather nervously. Chances were low at the moment, but it wasn't completely impossible, and that was the problem.Â
âThis wonât be like those movies where they pretend to date and actually end up falling in love,â you laughed, trying to play off the hidden horror you had.
"This will come back and bite your ass," Minji said simply, not noticing your wide eyes and panicked gaze.
"Don't jinx it, hello!"Â
"My bad," Minji shrugged nonchalantly. âHow did he even convince a non party goer like you to attend one?â
âHe wants to âhard launchâ us for a second time,â
âCute?â Minji mused, nudging you softly, wiggling her eyebrows. "Any outfits planned?"Â
"Nope," you regretted saying this because in the next second, you noticed a menacing grin on Minji's face. If there's one thing you know about her, it's that she loves dress ups, and you were about to be her next model.
Minji dragged you back to your dorm, pushing you onto the bed and ripping your closet doors open, rummaging through intensely.
"This won't do," you heard her mumble quietly before pulling out a mini skirt and a simple crop top. "Bingo,"
"You can't be serious,"Â
Turns out, she was. Both of the pieces have yet to be worn in a long time, so you didnât know how it would fit you, leading up to the moment when you tried it on, you instantly felt your head pound. The skirt was God forbiddingly short, the crop top hugging tight against your body. The entirety might've looked plain, but it was a slutty plain.
You were already running late, panic and stress in your system giving you slight adrenaline as you finished up some last touches on your makeup. If Minji wasn't out for a dinner date, you would've been strangling her for the outfit and for the untimely lack of support.Â
âYou took quite a while in there,â Jay said the moment you entered his luxurious sleek black Mercedes. You knew he was loaded, everyone did actually, but it still managed to shock you somehow.
âI was giving myself a pep talk to not try and run away from this party,â you flashed him a sarcastic smile.Â
âHaha,â Jay replied flatly, unamused. âItâll be an easy party, donât worry, you wonât get mauled. Iâll just introduce you around and then you go have some drinks, soon weâll be back before you know it,â
âYouâre not drinking right?â
âYou think Iâd like to be charged with a DUI?â
âHave you ever thought about that when you drive multiple girls home after parties?â
âItâs not nice to slut shame,â
âWhatever you say.â
The car ride to the house was quick and loud. It was calming when you and Jay were vibing to some music along the way up until the two of you started fighting over who was the best rapper in the industry, that eventually led to debating which genre is the greatest. The debate continued on even after entering the threshold, but nervousness washed over you once you were met with unfamiliar faces.Â
âPop is not even considered in this debââ
âJay, hold my hand,â
âWhatââ
âHold my hand,â you repeated firmly, and he listened despite being in a daze, intertwining his hand in yours, instinctively pulling you closer. âWe have to make this convincing, remember?â
âRight,â he squeezed your hand lightly, unknowingly giving you a hint of reassurance. âStick by me, some of the people here are not the best,â
âThanks, I canât wait to get out of here,â
Jay only rolled his eyes at your words, a slight grin tugged at his lips. He held onto your hand tightly, pulling you further into the crowded house, occasionally turning his head back to check on you. âThere, my hockey boys,â he nodded towards a small group by a small makeshift bar, instantly recognizing them from that day at the rink.
âWhat if I told you now that I have social anxiety,â you whispered into his ears, trying to give him your best pleading eyes.Â
âItâll be a little too late now,â he returned a knowing stare, clearly unfazed by your tricks. Smart bastard. âCome on, youâve already met them anyway,â
âY/N!â Heeseung was the one who spotted you first, waving his hand enthusiastically, Sunghoon following suit. You returned a small wave, but you tensed, feeling Jay removing his hand from yours, sneaking onto your waist instead. You were not strong enough for this, you were a woman with desires at the end of the day.
âHey,â Jay greeted them, resting his hand on your hip, your hand unconsciously travelling to his back, his smirk at your touch going unnoticed.
âSo, Y/N, is he still in âcomplicatedâ status?â Sunghoon brought up, eliciting a small laugh from Heeseung, meanwhile Jay was equally confused and unimpressed at his teammatesâ unseriousness.
âDonât worry, he has upgraded,â you prodded him, passing a pleased smile to the other two.
âWill we be seeing you at our games?â
âMaybe,â you said vaguely, feeling Jayâs hand leaving your hips and sneaking lower towards the hem of your skirt and slowly pulling at it. You turned your head, meeting his eyes and at that moment, you felt something you denied over the last week. You were weak, you were definitely not Godâs strongest soldier. It was bare minimum, but you still appreciated the little things.Â
âLetâs go walk around,â Jay suggested, leaning close to you, his face only inches away from yours, his hand squeezing your hip gently. Who knew he was this good at acting?
âDonât be too protective over her, Jay boy!â Sunghoon called out as he dragged you away from his friends, earning a soft laugh from you and grudging mumbles from him.Â
âThey tend to be quite a handful sometimes, sorry about that,â Jay said apologetically, leading you to a room full of people playing beer pong and some other drinking games.Â
âDonât worry about it, they seem fine,â you brushed him off, pressing yourself closer to his side in caution as your eyes scanned the whole room. âThey donât look like they believe the fact that youâre actually âdatingâ someone though,â
âThey once said they would be married by the time I found someone,â he scoffed, pulling you into an unoccupied coach. âWhich isnât true,â he continued, placing a pillow on your exposed thighs. âI just havenât found the one, or just not yet. Maybe I already did and I just didnât know, â
âTake it easy, loverboy,â you softly punched his shoulder, making him grin a little. He was cute, you couldnât lie about that, but your heart continued to. âYouâre still young, you should be worrying about it only if youâre 35 and single,â
âYouâre right,â he nodded solemnly, his attention averted away. "It's Juyeon,"Â
At that moment, Juyeon walked into the room, greeting some of his friends and welcoming hugs from them, the atmosphere in the room became noisier. Your gaze followed his figure, blinking quicker than usual as you suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of alarm.
"Don't drool," Jay clicked his tongue, his eyes turning fierce. What's up with this guy now?
"I'm not," you gritted out, your heart dropping slightly at the sight of Juyeon interacting with other girls. You were lying when you said you didn't care, maybe you did.
"I don't get why you like him anyway, he's a jock, a football jock," he said the last part in distaste, making it seem as though footballers were the worst on earth.
"It's called being interested, dumbass. Having someone to admire makes college life fun," you fought back, caving into Jay's touch when he draped his arm over your waist. You shouldn't be liking this skinship. You mustn't.
"He's coming over, he spotted us," Jay mumbled, flashing his smile at Juyeon's approaching figure. "Act natural,"
"Thanks for the advice," you gritted out dryly, shifting around uncomfortably.
"Yo Jay," Juyeon called out to Jay, dabbing your supposed boyfriend up, a friendly smile on his face that blinded your vision and made your heart eyes appear. Fuck.
"Sup," Jay greeted back, breathing out a quiet laugh. âOh, this isââ
âY/N,â Juyeon finished Jayâs sentence at once, his gaze shifted onto you now, causing you to shy under his stare. âPartner from Chemistry?â
âThatâs me,â you beamed at him, clapping your hands together, absentmindedly leaning further into Jayâs hold.Â
âI donât normally see you at these type of parties,â
âNot a big party person,â you scratched the back of your neck, the feeling of awkwardness creeping up on you. You were never the best at meeting new people, though Juyeon wasnât exactly a total stranger, but he wasnât someone you were close to either.Â
âRight,â he paused for a moment, peering back and forth between you and Jay, a slight raise of his eyebrow. âSo what brings the two of you here? Youâre Jayâs date for the night?â
âSheâs Jayâs girlfriend, actually,â the man himself spoke beside you, his hand on your waist pulling you closer to his side, a tight smile on his face. "My girlfriend,"
You could feel heat crawling up the back of your neck, choosing to avert your attention away and see what Juyeonâs reaction was. Turns out he was grinning, he was fucking grinning?Â
âJay with a girlfriend? For real?â
Jay let out a scoff, seemingly offended by everyoneâs surprise. Hell, if you didnât know him and found out he had a girlfriend, youâll be surprised too. âYes, dickhead, surprise,â he grumbled, earning a chuckle from the footballer, who clearly loved irking Jay.
âChill, good for you, man. About time,â he lightly slapped Jayâs shoulder and you sat quietly, not knowing what to say either. You really wanted to leave. âIâll be at tomorrowâs match, see you,â
âYeah, yeah, bye,â Jay bid a half-assed goodbye to Juyeon while you just waved at him instead, a tight lipped smile on your face. Once he was out of the picture, your head whipped to stare at the hockey player next to you, an impatient plea to leave this party written all over your features.
âFine,â he sighed, letting you slip your hand in his. âHow was all that?â he asked coolly, but you noticed a hint of displeasure in his tone, yet you waved it off again.
âI donât know, heâs ⌠okay, I guess,â you shrugged, truly confused about your current feelings. The thought of Jay stormed your mind. Juyeon? Thatâs the last J name of your concerns right now. But will you ever admit out loud that you were thinking about Jay, the man who constantly gives you headaches? Fuck no.
âJust âokayâ?â
You hummed in response, sensing that he was a little bit more at ease after hearing your answer. He was easy to read, too easy.
âDoes that make me better than him?â
âWoah, donât get too ahead of yourself, Park,â
âDonât hurt my ego like that,â
âAm not,â
âCome on, say Iâm better, hotter and funnier than him,â he egged on, inching closer to you, a teasing grin stretched on that stupid face of his.Â
âZipping my mouth shut,â you gestured at your lips, deadpanning at him.
âYouâre too afraid to admit it,â
âWhatever you say, big head,â you bumped his shoulder and he stumbled a little, narrowing his eyes at you, a challenging smirk plastered on his face. Oh no.
In the next minute, Jay swept you off your feet and threw you over his shoulder. You let out a sharp yelp, unable to process everything at once, hearing Jayâs playful laugh fill the streets in the quietness of the night.Â
âYouâre so dead,â you seethed, hitting his back with your utmost might, but he only cackled in response.
âWhatever you say, pea brain,â Jay mocked, earning him another hard punch on his back and this time, it actually made him wince. Choosing the safest route for himself, he kept his mouth shut.
Thus, you had no choice but to give into hanging over a hockey boyâs shoulder as the two of you ventured into the night in search of his car, not realising the mess youâll be facing soon.
ITâS OFFICIAL. YOU'VE REACHED THE STAGE OF REGRET.
It was the next day, hockey game day, you turned up at the arena and copped a good seat. You might be wondering, âwhatâs so bad about a hockey game to the point you start regretting everythingâ, well if you could trade places with anybody in the world right now, you would, and that said a lot.Â
Jay had greeted you for barely five minutes before the game, rushing away immediately once he saw the time, giving you an apologetic hug that almost had you convinced this was real. What he hadnât prepared you earlier, was the fact that there was a fucking kiss cam. One look at the jumbotron and you knew you were doomed.
âKISS CAMâ was written clearly on the screen, the music in the arena was drowned out completely and you felt your heart drop. It mightâve seemed overdramatic for you to react like this, but in reality, kissing a stranger was terrifying. Your first kiss was already a nightmare, let alone kissing someone you donât know, what would make it better?
âNothing will happen,â you assured yourself over and over again, unaware that somebody had just slipped in the seat beside you.
âHey,âÂ
You flinched, brought out of your daze and you met Juyeonâs eyes. Good-fucking-bye to the world right now. His smile distracted you, having you muted and malfunctioning. Cool. This was cool. Youâre cool.Â
âHi,â you gave him a small smile that turned out more awkward than you thought.Â
âSupporting Jay today?â he nodded at the rink where the team was currently practising, your eyes wandering over to Jayâs figure.
âHim and the team. School spirit, you know?â
âYeah,â he chuckled. âI heard about the kiss camââ he pointed towards the screen and you wanted to close your eyes instead, but basic courtesy mattered. ââapparently for raising funds,â
Raising funds through a kiss cam? What was this? âThe Kissing Booth: hockey editionâ?
âThatâs ⌠interesting,â you uttered, nervousness laced in your voice.Â
You were saved from the awkward tension just as the game started, secretly wishing you had Minji with you instead of a mouth watering football player next to you. The game was intense, effectively grabbing your attention away from your surroundings, but the flash of the kiss cam starting its quest on finding couples was distracting.
As the game progressed, you grew confident that your mind was just playing games in making you anxious and nothing would happen. Your mind eased as you joined in the cheering when the home team finally scored a goal, watching the team celebrate had you grinning, staring down at a specific number 99.Â
The high soon died down and you chose to glance up at the jumbotron, the kiss cam focused on a cute couple who were weirdly making out instead of just simply kissing. PDA, yucks. It then swiftly moved on to another pair, thankfully. They were probably strangers, but being good sports, they shared a quick peck, earning some âawhâs from the crowd. Another change, your eyebrows furrowed, a frown tugged at your lips, was thatâ
It was. Your nightmare has come. For a moment you wondered if you were hallucinating, but a couple of beats later, you came to the realisation you were not. The kiss cam was focused on you and ⌠Juyeon. When you said you were interested in him, you didnât mean this, nope not at all.Â
Embarrassingly and reluctantly, you avoided the footballerâs gaze and shook your head, feeling tripped out as you stared at your own self on the screen, catching some disappointed groans from a few people. âI have a boyfriend,â you mouthed, trying your best to seem apologetic, but Juyeon didnât look like he wanted to back down.
âYou donât want to kiss me?â he murmured, attempting to seem as lowkey as possible.Â
âI have a boyfriend, sorry,â you pressed your lips into a flat line, not enjoying this for a bit. The kiss cam swerved away to pinpoint another pair, but Juyeon was persistent.
âCome on, donât pretend you donât want to kiss me,â
You glared at him, your features turning sour, in disbelief at what youâve just heard. Was he serious? âExcuse me?â
âForget about Jay, I know how you were looking at me that night,â he whistled lowly under his breath and you scoffed, but you were caught off guard almost immediately when you saw the kiss cam lighting up in the corner of your eyes, and it zoomed into your face again. FML.
âHeâll never know,â he arched an eyebrow, welcoming the idea hugely. Scumbag.Â
âI donât stoop that low you fuckââ
Before you could jump Juyeon and curse him out, a loud crash startled you and everyone around. You jumped in your seat, your head turned towards the direction of the noise. Jay was in front of you, his fist against the glass, helmet in hand. If looks could kill, you wouldâve been dead.Â
Wet strands of hair stuck onto his forehead, his eyes narrowed into a death stare as it trained on Juyeon. âFuck off,â he yelled through the glass barrier, his fist clenched. âBack off,â
The blood in Juyeonâs face was completely drained, obvious embarrassment and shame washed over him, but knowing him and his ego, he played it off, pretending as if that didnât happen. âWhatever,â he got up from his seat and stormed off. Deserved.
You hid the small smile forming on your face, your sights redirecting towards Jay, your heart beating wildly against your chest the moment you met his eyes, softening when he mouth âyou okayâ. You nodded back at him and you could tell he instantly loosened up, returning a half smile before turning away and joining the team.
Moral of the story: donât fall for playboys, which sounded pretty ironic considering the situation you were currently in.
The game had thankfully ended in a win for the home team, and honestly, that whole experience seemed to be years instead of just a few hours. Never again. You were glad to see Jay and everyone else cheerfully exiting the rink, taking that as the cue for you to chase after him.Â
Upon arriving outside the locker room, you found yourself standing awkwardly as you waited for him to appear, greeting his friends half-heartedly when they were on the way out. Your patience was thinning and only until then, he only decided to appear, a little shocked that you were there.
âCongrats on the win,â you joined his side and walked together, letting his shoulder brush against yours softly.
âThanks,â he mumbled, a lollipop in his mouth. You didnât enjoy this questionable tension between the two of you, noticing his rigidness.Â
âHey!â You cut to the chase, snatching the lollipop from his lips, finally getting his attention as he turned to stare at you with wide eyes. âWhat was that for?âÂ
âNothing,â he shrugged it off, and you didn't understand why, you could tell he was blatantly lying.
âYou're acting really weird,â you narrowed your eyes at him in accusation.
âAm I?â
âAsk yourself that,â you huffed, instinctively putting the lollipop into your mouth, not bothering to care anymore. âAnyway, I think mission Juyeon is officially cancelled, he gives me the ick, didn't know he was such a big douchebag,â
âTold you so,â he shrugged, his gaze wavering from your lips to your eyes. Woah. âKeep the lollipop, I have loads,â he gulped, avoiding your eyes.Â
âDrop me off?â You suggested, putting on the most convincing, sweetest smile, which somehow worked since it got Jay to grudgingly mumble a âyesâ.
âI would give you a kiss right now if I could.â You skipped on, leaving Jay to tail behind you, your words ringing in his ears.
Maybe somewhere inside, he did wish you would.
âSEE? I TOLD YOU HE WAS A JERK,â
Minji continuously flailed her hands dramatically as you and she made your way through the campus. It was the week of the hockey event that Jay had mentioned, meaning another restless week of frat party, dress shopping, hockey match and then a fancy event.Â
âYes, yes, I know, you've made your point,â you grumbled annoyingly, having not one but two people saying the same to you.Â
âIt's quite cute that Jay stood up for you though,â she nudged your side, her eyes glinting. You knew what she was indicating.
âFake dating, fake. Not real,â you threw your hands up in defeat, but internally, you were beginning to second guess if you even wanted to call it fake, maybe deep down, you didn't want it to be.
âWhatever helps you sleep at night,â Minji mumbled, but you were able to catch onto it, huffing in denial next to her. âAnyway, when are you going shopping? The eventâs this weekend already,â
âFuck, I forgot,â you brushed your hand through your hair, having another headache to add on to. âDo you have any nice fancy dresses? I'm sure Jay is ready but I'm not,â
Minji flashed a knowing smirk, she definitely had something up her sleeve. âYou know I do. I'll bring them to your dorm and we're going to have a whole makeover,â
âYou're not going to burn my hair this time right?â
âWe'll see.â
A few days had passed and it was your second hockey pregame party, repeatedly cursing that your Thursday night was ruined once more, but seeing Jayâs pleading eyes at your doorstep, you just had to give in again. How did he have that effect on you?
âSheâs going to be at the party,â Jay noted casually on the way to the house.Â
âOh,â you pursed your lips, not knowing what to say next. âWhatâs her name? Youâve never mentioned,â
âSujin,â
âHer?â you gasped, eyes widened in plain shock. Out of all the girls he couldâve had his heart broken by, it had to be the infamous Instagram blogger who was known to play around. Look, you've always been a supporter of every woman's rights and wrongs, but she was way beyond any defending.Â
âYeah âŚâ Jay sighed, his fingers drumming lightly on the steering wheel. âWe were high school lovers, but things went sour in college,â
âWell, forget about her, you want to prove her wrong right? Then prove her wrong,â
âYou're oddly over confident today,â
âWhat's wrong with confidence, Park?â
He glanced over at you briefly, a wide grin on his face as he shook his head. âNothing. I just like to see confidence on you,â
You rolled your eyes, but something inside you twisted, finding yourself ignoring whatever feelings that sparked internally. âAre you ready for Saturday?âÂ
âSuitâs ready, but me? So so, I guess,â
âYou sound pessimistic, donât tell me youâre starting to regret all these,â
âHey, now youâre just putting words into my mouth,â Jay grumbled, putting the car into park right outside of the familiar frat house. âI wonât ever regret you or this whole thing, now come on,â
You werenât left a single second to even process the fact that he said he won't regret you. Yes, you, not just this stupid scheme, but you. Upon entering the threshold, you were met with a cup of beer thrusted into your face from a passing Heeseung, your other hand occupied by Jayâs, trying your best to make it past the crowd without stumbling over. Everything was a whirlwind.
âFuck, sheâs here,â his hold on you tightened and you followed his line of sight, your gaze landing on the over dressed Instagram model, her skirt a little too small and her heels a little too high.
âJust act normal, Jay. You said youâre over her, then you should act like that,â you yanked him close to you, walking over to the mini bar, pouring yourself a drink. âThatâs her boyfriend?â you nodded at the taller man towering beside Sujin, his face contrary to the one you had in mind.
âYeah, thatâs Intak,â he said quietly, aware of the lingering ears around the two of you. âSeeing him every time we have a game against his team is revolting, I canât believe I have to see him here too,â
âThen look away,â you pushed his face softly, earning a huff of annoyance from him. âCome on, itâll be over in an hour,â you rubbed the side of his arm in comfort, his lips twisting into an endearing smile.
âYouâre right,â Jay sighed, blinking harshly, his gaze flickering between you and your surroundings. âIâll go find Heeseung and Sunghoon for a moment, is that okay? Will you be alright alone? You can come along too. If you wantââ
âItâs fine, Jay, really,â you laughed, putting your hands up to stop him from blabbering on. âGo find them, call me when itâs time to leave,â
âIâll come find you once Iâm done,â he held onto your shoulder, pressing a hasty kiss on the top of your head before turning away to another room in search of his hockey teammates.
Safe to say you were able to find yourself a company, who turned out to be a girl you knew from your literature class. Why was she there? She didnât know either and you thought the best was to not question further, grateful that you were not alone in this house of strangers. The clock was spinning fast, soon it was already past midnight and Jay was nowhere to be seen. You were praying that you werenât in a remake of âScreamâ.
The feeling of unease crept up on you and you couldnât handle it any longer, standing up from the couch and storming into different rooms of the house, all occupied and filled with people, none of those were Jay. The last option you had was the upstairs, which lied the unimaginable behind those rooms that you were not about to explore, thank you very much!
Wandering the upstairs of a rather large frat house all alone was quite a challenge, especially when you were trying to hunt a 5â10 hockey jock, adding onto the fact that you literally and physically bumped (crashed, actually) into said hockey jockâs enemy in the corridors, shit was turning upside down.
âFuckâsorry,â you coughed out, regretting your last sober choice of bringing your beer cup along.
âShitâitâs fine, no worries,â Jay's enemy/exâs boyfriend, Intak, reassured, dabbing himself off with some napkins that were miraculously lying on a table nearby.
âI feel bad, if you need it cleaned I can help,â you frowned, leaning over to see the damage youâve caused: a yellowish stain on his once perfect white tee.
âNo, itâs completely fine, shit happens,â he laughed, waving his hand, an awkward silence filling the air momentarily. âSo, why are you even up here?â
âOhâIâm finding ⌠someone,â you gave him a tight-lipped smile.Â
His eyes lit up. âMe too, actually. I canât leave the party without them and gosh, Iâm getting a headache already,âÂ
âTwins, I think the beer is getting to me soon,â you clapped your hands, glancing around for any signs of Jay.
âBefore that happens, may I know your name first?â
You raised your eyebrows. âItâs Y/N,â
âNice to meet you, Y/N, Iâm Intak,â you accepted his handshake, trying your best to be friendly and not seem awkward. "I play in a hockey team, the one that's playing against yours for tomorrow,"
"Right," you nodded as though you hadn't already known that prior to this. "I would wish you good luck on normal occasions, but since it's against the home team ⌠I need to keep my school spirit,"
Intak let out a small laugh. "Totally understandable," he met your eyes, a hint of sheer curiosity in them. "Do you have a date for tonightâ"
"Intak?"
"Y/N?"
You, together with the hockey player, turned around to find each other's partners standing down the corridor next to one another, a look of confusion written on their faces. But you, you had anger and an obvious "what the fuck" painted onto your expressions, and it was clear that Jay had noticed it too when he came close.
"Uhâwe're leaving now, bye," Jay murmured, grabbing a hold of your wrist and dragging you away, giving you only a brief second to say goodbye to Intak.
You didn't and couldn't understand what was happening, just hating the way Jay was acting. You kept your mouth shut until you were completely out of the house and walking towards the car when you yanked your hand out of Jay's hold, causing him to look back at you in a daze.
"God, you're such a dickhead!" You seethed, breathing heavily.
"What?"
"'What' was all you could say? Jay, you left me in that party alone for God knows how long and then you disappear on me just for me to find you running back to your ex? Make it make sense,"
"I didn't run back to her, Y/N, for fuck's sake," Jay ran a hand through his hair, his lips pressed into a thin line. "She pulled me away and started claiming weird shit that never happened, I wanted to leave but she kept persisting until I managed to break down the fucking doorknob,"
Silence fell between the two of you, the dark of the night consuming your thoughts and the moon was staring down at you, your mind and soul in a daze. You couldn't understand why you were feeling this way, after all, it was fake, it wasn't real.
"I believe you," you sighed, gulping down the anxiety building up within you. "Forget it, it's fine, sorry for being so worked up, it's not like we're really dating, right?"
You looked at him, noticing his eyebrows furrowed and eyes glinting with something unreadable, his mouth opened then shut, wanting to say something but nothing came out, heaving a small sigh. "You're right, it's not real anyway."
As much as you wished to forget it, you couldn't. The way he wasn't even fighting and being in denial, his words stemming sadness into your heart and reminding you again and again that it was never real to begin with.Â
Fake dating was meant to be fake, wasn't it?
âI CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'VE BROUGHT ME HERE FOR EMOTIONAL SUPPORT,â
Friday night hockey was something you loved, but after what happened yesterday, you dreaded coming.Â
You still remembered the tension filled air on the way back to your dorms, the silence in the car and the quiet exchange of "goodnight" haunted you. Crashing into Minji's bed having a breakdown definitely made you two come to a conclusion that you were indeed harbouring something for Jay. Were you going to straightforwardly admit it? Never.
Now, you had zero balls to be at the game alone, choosing to drag Minji along and you knew even if she was vocally complaining, she was actually enjoying the hot hockey players secretly. Â
"Did you talk to Jay after yesterday night?"
"No,"
"Will you?"
"Maybe,"
"I think that's a 'yes',"
You stared pointedly at her and she shrugged, resuming her watch on the hockey players practising. You watched along as well, your eyes instinctively following Jay's figure, but then you noticed Intak on the far end as well. Somehow, you knew that this match wasn't about to end well.
"Is this seat empty?" A voice startled you from your internal monologue, snapping your head just in time to see little miss ex standing over you.
"Ohâyes," you said uneasily, grabbing your phone immediately to text Minji.
you: it's her
jiji: who
you: the girl next to me!!! that's jay's EX.
jiji: YOU'RE KIDDING
you: i wished
You exchanged a wary look with Minji, playing it off as natural as you could as you sensed Sujin sitting next to you, elbowing Minji in panic and she does the same back to you, making it look wild and weird from a third perspective. You stopped the frenzy nudging war with Minji, swallowing thickly and hoping nothing happened, but actually, something did, hooray!
âYouâre Jayâs girlfriend?â you heard her asking and you turned your head slowly, meeting her blinking eyes and curious gaze.
âYes,â you tried your best for it to sound convincing, and it seemed to have worked.
âCool.â she whistled under her breath, returning her gaze back to the arena and you resisted rolling your eyes, biting back a snarl.
The game started in a haze, both teams trying to break one anotherâs defence and score a goal, yet it all failed in the end, turning it into a tie for two periods straight. You and Minji sighed in disappointment, watching the home team giving their best to not collapse there and then. Sujin, on the other hand, looked nervous throughout the game, occasionally standing up and clapping.
The third period approached in a blink of an eye, two teams eager to score and win, the tension was high and you could tell they were sweating heavy loads. It began in a peaceful and lowkey attack, but shoving and punches were seen here and there, earning entertained jeers from the crowd. You sighed, both in exasperation and stress, hoping nothing would land Jay a bad game. But everything proved you the opposite once more.
Your eyes widening in the next moment, noticing two players shoving each other and throwing gloves onto the ice, punches almost thrown but was interjected by the referee and teammates. Lord, it just had to be Jay and Intak, it was basically written in the stars, wasnât it?
Once the game had ended, you couldnât care less about the scoreline, listening to Minjiâs brief rants on how not to fumble your emotions about Jay and stopping her halfway through, pointing to the clock as your time ticked. You were attempting to squeeze your way out when you heard a cough behind you and to your disappointment, it had to be Sujin.
âYouâre aware of who I am, right?â you heard the sneer in her voice, holding in the urge to rip her hair out and instead, remained facing away from her.
âDonât worry, I do. Youâre Jayâs dumpster ex girlfriend,â
âWhatââ
Timing was right and you took the chance to slip away, thanking the world that you were finally miles away from Jayâs dusty ex. All of that didnât matter though, the important aspect was finding Jay now, awkwardly speed walking to locate Jayâs whereabouts.
Upon arriving at the front of the familiar locker rooms, you patiently waited, feeling a sense of deja vu. That wasnât all. Your anxiety was at its highest point. What were you about to say to Jay? Can you even face him? What if you pussied out and ran awayâ
âY/N?â speaking of the devil âŚ
You whipped your head around, Jayâs curious eyes meeting your panicked ones, your whole body frozen to the spot as he approached you, taking a cautious step at a time.Â
âAre you alright? Were you hurt?â you couldnât help it, after seeing the minor fight on ice, your first natural instinct was to ask him this. Jay lowered his head, hiding a smile that was threatening to appear. A small sense of relief washed over you.
âIâm fine ⌠thanks. Just a small conflict,â he muttered, then proceeded by a brief moment of silence, where you swore it felt like forever considering how it was just quiet stares and exchanges of friendly smiles, and you couldnât really handle it much longer, being the one to break first.
âJay, Iâuhmâyesterday, the party thing, Iâm sorry about it, I donât want that to make things awkward between us,â you gesture wildly at the space between you and him, his eyes following your movements. âAnd itâs wrong for me to say those stuff,â
âItâs partially my fault too. Iâm the one to blame to ditch you,â
âIâm the one who accused you of shit and I feel really bad for assuming something I donât know. I just got worked up, Iâm sorry,â
He took hold of your hands, grasping onto them tightly as though he was fearing youâd run away. âY/N, do you trust me?â
Do you trust him?
In a heartbeat, the answer was an obvious âyesâ. You had to admit, you did initially find him annoying and a total fuckboy that you knew would break your heart, but as time passed, you couldnât care anymore. Even if it meant your heart was on the line, at least you knew Jay was genuine about you; at the very least, there was someone who would stand up for you, listen to your rants about music, and put you first.Â
âYes,â
Jay pulled your hand, practically yanking you towards him, landing on his chest with a thud and a heart thumping crazily, butterflies swarmed your stomach and you could feel heaven getting close, aka you dying in Jayâs arms. He pressed his head on the top of yours, feeling his heart beating against your chest, his cologne no stranger to you now.Â
âWhen I said youâre my girl, I meant it, it doesnât matter if itâs fake or not, Iâll always care for you, and I will never ever hurt you, so pleaseââ an underlying mix of desperation, hurt and care were laced in his voice, and you were weak, weak for him. ââtrust me, and even if it means I need to earn it or whatever, I will,â
âJayâŚâ you faltered, resting your chin on his shoulder, arms wrapped around his waist. âIâm sorry for not trusting you, I shouldâve heard you out, of course I do trust you,â
Jay was silent for a second, whispering a quiet âthank youâ and pressing a swift kiss on your forehead, which didnât get completely unnoticed by you, but you decided to not say anything about it, letting yourself melt into his arms. Internally, you were conflicted, torn between whether your feelings about him were mutual, you were scared, petrified that youâve already broken the first and most important rule of fake dating:
Do not catch feelings.
jayjay: DUMPSTER EX? youâre soo foul for that
you: truth hurts unfortunately :/ you never told me what happened that day
jayjay: it was stupid, he just started attacking me, for OBVIOUS reasons, so i couldnât help defending back :(Â
you: iâm glad you didnât get your ass beat
jayjay: gasp you have zero confidence in me!
Tossing your phone to the side was a hard task considering how Jay was basically spamming your message inbox, ranging from panicking about the event that was happening at night to gossiping about exes, he was certainly experiencing many emotions. You were similarly distraught, having a hard time choosing between a black dress or a red one, placing them in front of you for evaluations that just ended up failing.
âBy the time weâre done I think the party wouldâve ended,â Minji groaned from her side of the room, lounging on her bed as she watched you glancing between the two dresses.
âNot helping,â
âI literally chose the black one and you told me, in your words, âwhat if I looked better in redâ girl, thatâs your problem now,â
âI'm indecisive and you know that,â you mumbled sourly, picking the black dress in the end. You were grateful for the fashion Gods, the dress was an absolute banger and you didnât understand how you even picked it out, you just knew.Â
âSee? I told you,â Minji whistled, manhandling you to do a forceful 180 turn for her, and from the way her face morphed into a smile, you could tell she was pleased. "Jay would drop dead when he sees you," she squealed.
"God I hope not," you joked, squeezing onto your clutch tightly.
jayjay: im outside :)
"He's here," you hissed, becoming frantic all of a sudden, double checking everything at the last minute before slipping your heels on, making sure to give Minji a small kiss on the cheek too and off you went dashing towards Jay's car, noticing his figure faced away, leaning against his car as you got nearer.
"Hi," you panted, masking the fatigue and exhaustion from the amount of panic and stress you went through in those 5 minutes.
You could see Jay glancing up from his phone, then shoving it into his back pocket and turning his head around, his burning eyes locked with yours. A smirk slowly stretched onto his lips, a mischievous glint in his gaze as he sweeped your figure. You were no better, eyes shamelessly boring into him, scanning his attire and you swore your legs were shaking.
Him in a plain black suit shouldnât be affecting you, but it was. The prada tie hung around neck was equally distracting, how was he making something so simple seem breathtaking? You hated him for it, yes, you absolutely do. His hair was styled back and a single loose strand hung over his forehead, practically challenging the Zayn Malik look.
âHey,â his hand instinctively reached for your waist, bringing you closer to him. âYou look amazingâyouâre amazing,â he breathed out, completely transfixed.
âYou look great too,â thatâs a lie, he looked more than just great.
âGetting complimented by you for once? Honoured,â
âYou should be,â you snickered, letting Jay guide you to the passenger side and adoring the way he opened the car door for you. Although it was a small gesture, you appreciate it greatly considering how literally no man had done this for you before. Known fuckboy Park Jong Seong was proving you wrong day by day.
The drive there began quietly and you knew it was going to take a while since itâs quite a distance away, fearing it would be awkward silence once more, but the moment Jay had switched the radio on, the music discourse started, then it progressed into movies.Â
âI canât believe you hate rom coms!â you gasped, staring at him in horror as he fumbled to defend himself.
âLook, I didnât say hate, but itâs just pointless,âÂ
âYouâre telling me youâve never watched the classic rom coms before?â you dramatically leaned away from him, earning a huff.
âNo,â he grumbled.
âThatâs criminal,â you exclaimed, a little evil idea forming in that brain of yours. âIâm making you watch them,â
âYouâre so not,â
âOh, I am,â you beamed, clapping your hands together. âThere are âHow to Lose a Guy in 10 daysâ, âNotting Hillâ, âPretty Womanâ, the list goes on and on and Julia Roberts is literally a rom com legendâoh my God, please tell me youâve watched Mamma Mia before,â
âOf course I did! Iâm not that bad,â
âIâm glad,â you let out a sigh of relief, sinking into your seat and making a mental note to write down a list of rom coms to watch with Jay. A rom com marathon date with Jay, cute. The rest of the ride, you listened to Jayâs hilarious rants about the pizzas he tried and the interesting stories from his trips abroad.
The venue was absolutely spacious and screamed sponsored. It was at some five star hotel, the parking was already a clear indication that it wasnât a hotel to be taken lightly in consideration. Even Jay was surprised, his head twisting and turning to look at the small details of everything, his hand in yours and it genuinely felt like you were dragging a curious child around.
âDidnât know the hockey associations had this in them,â he cooed, entering the ballroom of the hotel, a big hockey banner hung at the stage, round tables littered here and there, a huge space in the middle for the dancefloor and as for the cherry on top, a wide array of food and drinks displayed freely. Maybe you didnât fully regret coming.
Despite all that, you only managed to recognise one or two people from the hockey team, but the rest of them were plain strangers, players from different schools that only Jay could probably recognise. You simply felt uneasy.
âRemind me what this is for again?â
âLiterally nothing, itâs the same as the frat party but classier I suppose,â
âReal charming,â
âCome on,â Jay said quietly, his hand resting on the small of your back, guiding you towards your designated table, actually glad for once when you saw the hockey team, including Heeseung and Sunghoon. âItâs going to be over soon and hey, you can always talk to the guyâs dates,â
âWill I be seeing their dates the next time?â you arched a quizzical eyebrow at him, knowing their reputation, you wondered if this was a one night exclusive kinda thing, but you werenât there to judge.
âHard to say,â Jay frowned.
âWaitââ you paused, placing an arm on Jayâs shoulder. âWhat about us? This whole deal was for tonight, but what happens after?â
âI donât think itâs the right time to discuss this right now, Y/N,â Jay glanced back and forth between you and his friends at the table, making sure his voice was extra hushed. âLetâs just survive tonight first, and weâll talk about the rest after. Capiche?â
You nodded, but deep down, you could tell that talk was already dreaded by the both of you. Youâd hate to admit it, but after being with Jay for a while, you were not willing to let go. What if he didnât feel the same and youâll just end up being those clingy girls he dated before? It was such a wrong time to think about all these when youâre in the middle of some stupid event, but your mind has its way to put you off, always.
âYou okay?â Jay was close, his eyes scanning your face for any signs of emotions. It definitely helped in snapping you out of your daze, and it took your utmost willpower to not shy away or kiss him at that exact moment, he was so pretty, painfully pretty when he was up close for you to be able to capture his every feature.Â
âYeah,â you breathed out, squeezing his shoulder lightly before looping your arm around his. âIâm a little hungry,â
âMe too,â Jay groaned, his head turning over to where the buffet was, evidently displaying heart eyes. âIâll go get us some, you should join them first, and save me a seat too, please,â
ââPleaseâ? Thatâs a first from you,â
âDo you want your food or not?â
âYouâre so romantic whenever you threaten me,â you shooed Jay away, forcing him to fetch some food while you trudged your way towards the table, Heeseung and Sunghoon nodded at you when you caught their eyes.
"Y/N," the two hockey players regarded you, their dates giving you friendly smiles and you took a seat next to Heeseung's date.
"Heeseung, Sunghoon," you raised your eyebrows. "And the ladies," you have to admit it, at least they had great tastes.
Heeseung and Sunghoon introduced you to their dates, one was Chaewon and the other was Kazuha, both of them being the nicest people you've ever met and you swore you were about to ditch Jay for them instead.
"Hey," Jay finally appeared, his hands were occupied by two plates and thankfully, he was smart enough to fill them up to the brim. He slipped into the empty seat next to you, acknowledging his friends and their dates.
âThis is a first,â Heeseung noted thoughtfully, catching both you and Jay off guard.
âHm?â Jay hummed, passing you the utensils.
âDonât âhmâ me. This is literally my first time seeing you treat a girl like this,â
Jay stared back at his friends as if they were insane, you just stayed amused. âYouâre making me sound like Iâve treated other girls like a dickhead,â
âYou know what I mean,âÂ
You didnât. But it seemed Jay did, silently sighing underneath his breath and shrugging Heeseungâs words off, turning to you instead. âI got you some strawberries, I remembered you mentioned loving them once,â
There was a tug at your heartstrings, it was your absolute weakness: people remembering your favourite things; Jay most definitely had a great way to get into your heart and mind. He was slowly but surely ticking off the boxes on the list youâve created in your head, titled âthings Jay is forbidden to do so that I WONâT end up liking himâ and he was proving you wrong by checking them off one at a time, damn it.
The food wasnât the best but the company surely did help. The whole of the hockey team was cracking jokes around the table, you were laughing until your stomach was hurting, the atmosphere high and wild, you were too busy trying not to choke at the jokes to notice that you were practically leaning onto Jayâs side, shoulders touching and you could feel the warmth emanating from his body.
Whatâs a fancy event without a speech at the end of the night? Other than that boring part, you were relieved to hear there was at least a dance to end the night off on a high with, since the dance floor was there for a reason. The team around the table started dispersing in pairs, until it was only you and Jay left.Â
âWere you waiting for me to ask?â Jay teased, his eyes lingering on you.
âIsnât that how itâs supposed to go usually?â you mused, raising an accusing eyebrow at him and he stifled a laugh.Â
âIâm playing with you. I was waiting for the otherâs to leave first so that I could be alone with youââ he bumped your shoulder gently with his, ââand ask you personally,â he stood up from his seat, the soft glow from the lights shone across his face, alighting his delicate features, he looked like a fantasy, too good to be true, and maybe he was. âWould you like to dance?âÂ
âI would love to,â you accepted his hand, allowing him to lead you to the dancefloor and you suddenly felt nervous, hoping you wouldnât end up tripping or stumbling, or worse, stepping on Jayâs toes. Somehow, he would always sense your distress and this time, it was the same.Â
âDonât be nervous, I wonât start hoisting you up like those Disney shows,â he said with his recognizable playful smile that youâve grown used to.Â
You were facing him now, his hand not leaving yours and only tightening its grip, pulling you in closer and closer until you were only mere inches away from him, noses almost touching. The other hand of his rested on your waist, yours on his shoulder, eyes not leaving one another. The lights were dimmed down, slow music was playing in the background and you swore you saw something sparked in his gaze as you two started moving to the rhythm.Â
âI mightâve said it earlier already but genuinely, youâre absolutely breathtaking,â Jay whispered, his voice low and his gaze piercing.
âHave my love potions finally worked?â you smiled, hoping and praying that Jay wouldnât notice the slight tinge of pink rising to your cheeks.
âI think they did,â Jay nodded slowly, biting his lip for a moment before leaning even more closer, space was basically nonexistent between you two now. âI might want to keep you forever now, keep you by my side and never let you go,â
Could this be his answer? An answer to your countless doubts and thoughts that piled in your mind. This was stupid, he was stupid. Stupidly handsome and charming it had you going insane and you thought hockey jocks wouldnât have this effect on you, guess you were wrong all along.
âReally?â you breathed out, barely audible, but expectant.Â
âI donât think I was ever joking,âÂ
âIââ
âJay!â Sunghoonâs voice boomed through the crowd and you could see the hope drain from Jayâs face, his eyebrows furrowed and features twisted into annoyance. âDude, I heard thereâs some free booze that costs thousands! Can we please go check it outâam I interrupting something here?â
âYou think?â Jay seethed out, taking off his suitâs blazer and placing them over your shoulders. It was something small, maybe even insignificant to others, but to you, it meant a lot, and you were hoping no one noticed your slight shyness after.Â
âItâs fine,â you placed a reassuring hand on Sunghoonâs shoulder. âYou can whisk him off for the night, but donât make him drunk,â
âGot it,â Sunghoon showed you two thumbs up, throwing his arm around Jay's shoulder.Â
âIâll see you later? Call me if you need anything,âÂ
âIâll be okay, I have Chaewon and Zuha here,â
Jay only silently nodded, begrudgingly following his friend but making sure to turn back and take a last peek of you before fully disappearing away. You were left alone standing in the midst of the dancefloor, feeling a pair of eyes on you and you knew exactly who it was, Sujin.
Maybe this whole plan worked too well, it had you totally forgetting its original objectives and you couldnât tell if it was a good or bad thing. All you knew was that you needed a long and deep talk with Jay and whatever he said earlier definitely had you on the edge all night while he was somewhere getting wasted. Hey, someone had to be the responsible one, and it happened to be you.
âYouâre telling me Heeseung spilled a drink over a girl a few days ago?â
You found yourself giggling and messing around with Chaewon and Kazuha, the three of you sharing odd stories of one another and it evolved into gossiping about your own dates. Chaewon turned to you, a cheeky grin wide on her face.
âYou and Jay are dating right?â she nudged you playfully, Kazuha followed with a smile.
âI guess so?â you threw your hands up, sipping from a drink you didnât really like but still endured.
âYou seem unsureâoh wow, did he never confirm it between you two?â
âNo, not thatââ it was that, it was complicated. âItâs just somethingâs bugging me,â
âWhat is?â the two girls leaned in closer.Â
âJust, the other day at a party, I saw him coming out of a room with his ex and I got madââ
âRightfully so,âÂ
âI heard his explanation and I felt bad for jumping to conclusions,â
âOh, honey, itâs our first instinct, you donât have to beat yourself up for it,â
âYeah, I know, I do trust him, he didnât seem to look like he had just freshly made out with her or anything, but something in me just doesnât feel like Iâve fully made peace with this whole thing,â
âWhich means?â
âI donât know exactly, I think Iâm either super paranoid or simply scared something bad might happen,âÂ
âI mightâve not been with Sunghoon for long enough and I donât even think weâre a thing, but Iâve hung out with him and Jay included, and itâs enough for me to say that Jay is a good guy. He might be a well known fuckboy at first encounter, but the more you got to know him, youâll realise heâs actually the sweetest and nicest guy ever,â
âExcluding his reputation,â Chaewon added thoughtfully.
âExcluding that,â Kazuha repeated. âBut he probably changed, I donât see him at many parties anymore after he got with you. Itâs cheesy to say but I think you mightâve changed that man,â
âMhm,â Chaewon nodded along, placing a hand on your thigh and giving you a comforting pat. âPlease donât let some ex overwhelm your thoughts and sever your relationship, Iâve been there and it sucked, believe me. I see the way he looks at you, I can tell he likes you a lot, I really donât wish anything to happen between you two,â
âPlus, the three of us needs to hang out more, go on dates together, itâll be fun,â
âAgreed,âÂ
You broke into a smile, laughing softly and leaned into Chaewonâs embrace. âI know weâve barely met but would it be too soon to say I love you guys?â
âNever,â the two girls snickered in unison.Â
The night gradually passed without your knowledge, time practically nonexistent when you spoke to your new found besties, only noticing how late it was when you saw people slowly making their way to the exit, hand in hand with their partners, and you thought of Jay. Please donât be high or drunk somewhere, or just both in general.
âGod, look at the time, should we go find them?â Kazuha pointed out, Chaewon stretching her arms out beside her while you readjusted yourself uncomfortably in this dress.Â
âWe really should, theyâre probably drunk or something. Come on,â Kazuha pulled you up and it took your utmost strength to not collapse from the pain, all thanks to your killer heels you were now wincing everytime you walked. Beauty is pain indeed.
It didnât take long for the three of you to spot the hockey guys, distinguishing Sunghoonâs glorious silver hair that shone particularly brighter under the lights from the mirrorball. Although they seemed sober still, you could tell they were beginning to be at their wits end, but forget about them, Jay was nowhere in sight and you couldnât help feeling unease.
âWhereâs Jay?â
âOh, Jay?â
âYes, Jay,â you folded your arm, staring expectantly at them.
âHe got a call or something just ten minutes back, he said he was supposed to be back soon, as in right now, but heâs not here,â Heeseung said, trying to take a swig of his cup before it was swatted away by Chaewon. âHe did go that way,â he pointed at the door that led out to the terrace.
âIâll go get him,â
âDo you need any of us to help?âÂ
âIâll be fine ⌠for now,â you gave them a smile of assurance, but you yourself were far from being assured.
Trudging your way past the dispersing crowd, you were wondering where Jay was, silently cursing him out as you continued your way even if your shoes were killing you. Never again. The terrace was a nice place to getaway, the open space looked out to a night sky that was illuminated by skyscrapers and stars, plus the cool night breeze made it even better.Â
The area was wide, tables and chairs littered here and there, but there was no five feet ten hockey player anywhere. You decided to walk around a little bit more, pulling your phone out and dialling Jayâs number, praying he was somewhere near. There was no way this would be a second reenactment of the party at the beach except this time itâs actually a real scary movie, right?
Wrong.Â
The moment you rang Jay, you managed a sigh of relief once you heard a ringtone sounding from a distance away, so as anyone would, you followed it, turning around a corner and you saw Jayâs back, elation filled your heart, but before you could even shout his name, your perfect bubble burst.
Jay wasnât alone, no, he was with someone, a girl. You squint your eyes and you swore your knees turned into jelly in that second. Sujin, the dumpster ex, pulled him into a kiss. A mix of countless emotions swelled in you, whether it was anger, shock or sadness, all you knew was that you needed to get out right now. You couldnât believe it, Jay, the guy you actually considered was doing this. Maybe trusting him was the worst idea you could ever conjure up your entire life.
âFuck me,â you cursed out, maybe a little too loudly because it definitely did make Jay stumble back from his ex, turning around to meet your eyes and you could tell he was not expected you here, hell you werenât even expecting yourself to be in this foolish position.
âWhatâY/N?â Jay somewhat looked too disoriented, unaware of what was happening as though he had just woken up 10 years later. But you couldnât care less, you were hurt and you werenât about to pretend nothing had happened and start acting jolly good. No, you werenât going to stand there to let the scene before you swallow you whole, no way, you were going to leave this situation, this stupid event and this entire agreement.Â
You stormed away, not daring to look back, mustering every bit of courage you had to swallow down a sob and remain prideful, even if it meant you had to fake it till you made it. Hurt wasnât a stranger to you. Youâve experienced hurt in many forms. Physically, when you fell down on the rough rocky road; emotionally in terms of family, friends, love. But this was a hurt that resembled a deep cut, the feeling of being stabbed in the heart haunted your soul.
âY/N, wait,â
Fuck, not here, not now, not when you were inside and standing in the middle of the room. Even though there was barely any one here by now, the guys from Jayâs hockey team remained, including Heeseung and Sunghoon, you were not ready to confront or be confronted.
âNo, Jay, no âwaitâ,â you put your hand out, distancing yourself away from him, but you could still smell the alcohol in his breath. You wished and hoped he was sober enough for this, because in the next hour you were going to be the one drinking to death instead.Â
âI can explainââ
âCan you?â
âWhat?â
âCan you explain this time? Is it just a drunken mistake? Is that what you were going to say?â
âFor fuckâs sake, Y/N, we arenât even dating,âÂ
Heads turned, you could sense peopleâs attention on the two of you now, but you were far from caring about that, not when Jayâs words felt exactly like a dig at your already fragile heart. God, you were so so stupid and naive. Â
âSay it again,â the words came out in a whisper, your lips trembling. âSay it again, say how we were never real, how all of this was just a fucking scheme to get back at your ex, and haâ!â you threw your hands up, swallowing down a lump in your throat, âit worked, didnât it? I ended up falling for your tricks and I ended up falling for you too, funny isnât it?
Jayâs face twisted upon digesting your words, but you went on.
âI shouldâve known that you were using me all along just to get back with herâŚâ you faltered, your voice eventually failing you.
âY/N, come onâŚâ he said weakly, but you just shook your head.
 âGo back to her,â
âDonât you get it? Fuck, Iâd choose you over her, any day, any time. Iâd choose you over everyone God damn it. Canât you see that?âÂ
Your mouth fell open for a second, but nothing could come out as a response.
To say that you were bewildered was an understatement indeed, you were absolutely stunned speechless. The man before you, despite looking in a daze from God knows how much alcohol he had consumed, showed that his eyes said otherwise, staring back at you with desperation, longing, pining and sadness. Your heart could only take so much.
âGoodnight, Jay.â
What pained you more was the fact that he didnât even try after that. No, he didnât call for you nor did he stop you from leaving like those scenes from your favourite rom coms, he just decided to let you go.Â
At one point, you really wished someone would come out and yell âthis is a prankâ at you, but obviously, no one did. This whole thing was basically a reenactment of Cinderella, except it was a modern day and much more angsty version of every kidâs favourite movie.Â
Of course, you happened to be Cinderella and he was Prince Charming, the clock struck midnight, you were leaving him in a haste and he was left stranded alone in the middle of a dance, how ironic.Â
Oh, how you wished you were able to hide away from your own Prince Charming like the old mediaeval days.
âARE YOU GOING TO CONTINUE CRYING OVER âHOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYSâ?â
âLeave me alone,â
âIt isnât a good coping method,â
Somehow, it was already almost a week since that night. You remembered calling a cab in the dead of the night (dumb idea) and phoning Minji the whole way sobbing till the point where the driver had to pull over. You were pathetic and even a stranger could tell so, but you know what, he was nice about it and thatâs the positives youâd take from that.
âAnd itâs ironic how I actually did somewhat lose a guy too,â you tried laughing, but it only sounded like a choke, Minji shaking her head sympathetically at you.Â
Speaking about Minji, she definitely wasnât pleased to hear what had happened. Knowing her, you knew she was about to say âI told you soâ but seeing you in your pathetic state, she kept her mouth zipped and quiet, letting you into her bed and having a sob session. It was a crazy night.
âWhen will you hear him outâdid you even hear him out in the first place?â Minji eyed you accusingly and you began cowering under her intense gaze.
âNoâŚâ
âY/N,â Minji sighed, shifting closer to you. âI know the whole picture is super messy and totally off putting, but what if it was an accident?â
âHim kissing his ex is a pretty clear picture to me, how would it be an accident?â you wrapped your blanket tighter around you, mumbling disheartedly.
âWhat if he fell on her or something?â
âNow you sound absolutely ridiculous,â you scoffed.
âWhat I really mean is, you should go and talk it out with him, if not, this thing will just drag on and youâll hurt more,â
âI donât think Iâm ready, the woundâs still fresh,â
âI get it,â Minji placed her head on your shoulder, snuggling on your side. âIt takes time, and I donât think heâs ready either.â
Jay wasnât ready, in fact he thinks heâs never going to face you again.
The moment he watched you slip away from him that night, he knew it was best to just let you go. Or so he thought. Best believe he got an earful from both Heeseung and Sunghoon, not to mention their dates. He could still remember the bursts of disbelief from them, the amount of âit was fake?â and âwhat did you do?â rung through his head till now, where he stared blankly back at the rink, sitting silently on one of the seats in the stands.
âItâs barely 24 hours and itâs also a Sunday, what are you doing here?â the teamâs captain boomed through the empty arena, approaching Jay and eventually taking a seat next to him.
âTaking my mind off ⌠things, what are you doing here?â Jay regarded Heeseung for a moment.
âI figured youâre here,âÂ
Jay nodded at Heeseungâs words, silence eventually filled the space between them. It was one of those moments where they knew something was wrong, but no one wanted to speak up about it.
âAre you not going to tell us what happened? Or did you simply decide to kiss your ex?â Heeseung broke the ice, coming off slightly harsh, detesting the silence from Jay. He knew this wasnât the best friend he trusted his life with, the Jay he knew wasnât a cheater, even if the relationship wasnât real.
âWould you even believe me?â
âI would, Iâve known you for years, thereâs no way youâre doubting my trust for you,â Heeseung rested his hand on Jayâs shoulder, giving him a reassuring squeeze.
Jay ran his hand across his face, blinking momentarily before sighing deeply. âI wasnât the one who kissed her. I donât know what happened to lead up to that, but I swear she suddenly turned me around and pressed herself onto me. I was just chilling outside for fresh air,â
âYouâre kidding,â
âIf I was I wouldnât be here at all,â
âHave you confronted Sujin?âÂ
âKind of? If you count screaming at her and telling Intak about it as a confrontation, then yes,â Jay was fidgeting with his fingers, his eyes trained on the rink. âI think Intak broke it off with her after,â
âDeserved,â Heeseung mused, a small smile on his face, karma truly worked wonders. âNow thatâs settled, what about Y/N? I still canât believe you roped her into a fake dating scheme just for that event,â
âAlright, alright, Iâve done some dumb shit and this was one of them, I know,â Jay admitted, throwing his hands up in defeat. âAnd I know Iâve hurt her ⌠a lot, thatâs why I donât know how I can ever face her again,â
âI donât understand why you didnât chase after her that night,â
âI admit I did pussy out a littleââ
ââA littleâ?â
âShut up,â Jay narrowed his eyes at his captain, who stared back, equally unamused. âI thought letting her go was the best choice, I was scared of hurting her more,â
Heeseungâs gaze softened, remaining quiet as he listened to his best friend opening up. Heeseung had these types of deep talk with Jay many times before, but this time, it was different. Being the one who stuck alongside Jay since his first breakup to now, he was the clearest when it came to Jay and his feelings. Over the years of witnessing Jay and his casual one nights, Heeseung expected it to last until the very day Jay retires from hockey, but your sole existence proved him wrong, and it definitely proved Jay wrong as well.
âJay, do you like her?â Heeseung said after a while, catching the latter off guard.
âIâIââ Jay stammered, his body rigid and thoughts were circling in his mind. He didnât just like you, he knows heâs fallen for you, you were the first girl to ever caught his eyes way before he even got to talk to you.Â
He remembered it clearly, you were the one who called hockey stupid in front of his face, oblivious to the fact that he played the sport. He was injured at that time, sitting in the stands and watching his team play when he heard your voice complaining, your then boyfriend next to you. Offended Jay was once he heard the insult, though he was fascinated by you, but it was just his fuckboy side talking and he ended up staying silent instead.
Next thing he knew, he was all recovered and you were in the crowd, your face blank, the seat next to you was empty. Jay assumed it was a break up, something in him was giddy and he went on to score a hat trick that night. After all that, people might assume he wouldâve gotten your number already, right? Nope. He never had the guts to and you stopped coming to games, only appearing once in a few months, until that fateful night at the beach.
âI do like her, fuck,â Jay threw his head back, leaning into the seat and his hands on his face, swallowing deeply as if he was in trouble, maybe because he was. How was he going to tell you he liked you and confront you about that night? There were two big stones thrown at his head. "I like her so much till the point where I think the amount of denial I had is turning into delusions instead,"
"So, you've reached insanity, got it,"Â
"God, I haven't been romantically in love with many girls before, but I'm pretty sure this is what being in love feels like, right ⌠?"Â
Heeseung stared at Jay's pathetic expression, sighing deeply, clapping his back. "It's different for everyone but I can guarantee that you're on the right track, buddy,"
"Okay," Jay said breathlessly and nodded blankly, seeming as though he had just freshly figured out his feelings, putting the missing pieces into his puzzle. "Got it, but how do I apologise to her now?"
"What do you mean? Just go up to her and talk, say sorry and explain,"Â
"I feel like that's not enough,"
A sudden spark alighted in Heeseung's eyes, a shiver equally went down Jay's spine when he witnessed that before him. Lee Heeseung and his ideas were a mix of trouble and sometimes success, mainly trouble. âYou know, Sunghoon pitched this idea to me yesterday, he said something about this is how you get the girl,â
The mention of Sunghoon's name and his idea didn't help at all.
âWrite her an apology on our jumbotron,â
âYou're insane,â
âAnd we happen to have access to it,â
â... tell me more.â
YOU WERE REGRETTING YOUR CHOICE OF AGREEING TO HEESEUNG AND SUNGHOONâS INVITE.
Hockey games were never up your alley, they knew that, but somehow they still managed to pull you into attending their game, even after what had happened. They did offer to bring you out for a luxurious buffet and you guessed it was their way of an apology, not passing up on it either.
âThis better be worth it,â you grumbled under your breath, settling into your seat, glancing down at the rink, making it a strenuous effort to not stare at him. Ladies, do not chase, attract. You were not about to go running after Jay, nope, never.
No matter how hard you tried suppressing the thought of Jay, it lingered nevertheless. You wondered when he would talk to you again, or if he ever would, and being the most stubborn person you were, you werenât going to confront him despite the need of an explanation clawing at your deepest desires.Â
The first and second period rolled by mindlessly and you were starting to be at your wits end, reminding you why you barely ever attend hockey games after your ex, but at least the home team was leading. The third period was slightly more thrilling thanks to the small fight between two players, enraging you and the crowd, but once the puck landed on Jayâs end of the stick, everyone was on their feet, watching him zoom past the defensemen.
Without saying, Jay scored the gameâs winning goal, the crowd going wild. You couldnât help smiling, the whole team engulfed him wholly, making you let out a small giggle, and you had to admit, times like this where teams win crucial games do make you happy. Meanwhile, what you hadnât noticed was the fact that Jay was glancing up at the crowd, his eyes searching for your figure.Â
On the other hand, what you did notice was the jumbotron. A video of Jay doing his celebration flashed big on the screen, a giant âGOALâ next to his head, but there was another line of words under that caught your attention at once, knowing it was directed at you. âIâm sorry and I miss you. Iâll wait for you, even if itâs a lifetime. Please come back to me.â Totally not heartbreaking and gut wrenching for you!Â
Screw being a cold hearted girl boss, all you wanted was to run back to him.Â
Slinging your bag onto your shoulder, your mind was in a mess as you made your way out, squeezing past people and mumbling apologies in return. You mentally made a list of things you were going to do. First, run back to the dorms. Second, cry. Third, figure shit out. Just to make matters messier, your journey out wasnât the smoothest, especially when you had to bump into Jayâs dumpster ex. What great timing this was.
âY/N?â Sujin was shocked to see you, but you were clearly unimpressed.
âYou still have the guts to turn up in front of me? In here? In a school you donât go to?â
âIâI just wanted to talk to you,âÂ
âMe? Whatâs there to say?â you crossed your arms, staring expectantly at her.Â
âLook, Jay didnât kiss me, I kissed Jay, you get it?âÂ
You blinked. Were you supposed to get it? As much as you wished you didnât, you did, and your mind turned into a worse state of mush. God rest your soul, you were about to pull someoneâs hair out.
âWhat?â you exclaimed incredulously, furiousness crawling into your system. âSo, youâre telling me you basically threw yourself onto him?â
âI suppose?â
âWow, you really are a freaky ex, not freaky in a good way either,â you gestured at Sujin, a sick feeling in your stomach. It was never Jayâs fault, but his dumpster ex, and maybe all along he was trying to explain his side, yet you didnât listen. Now, you felt like an idiot and an asshole. âYou can stay in the dumpster and never return. Youâre sick and twisted and I hope youâll never turn up and harass Jay ever again, you got it? Or else Iâll curse you into being single forever,â
âIââ
You didnât let her finish, you couldnât bother to do so, instead you turned away, speed walking towards the locker rooms that unknowingly became yours and Jayâs meeting spot. Heart beating quick, your feet stumbling from walking too fast, your breath heaving, you were getting anxious. By the time you were standing in front of the locker room, sweat was trickling down the side of your face, whether it was from pure anxiety or just walking, you didnât know. All you knew was that you needed to talk to Jay.
âY/N, what brings you here?â Heeseung had his hands in his pockets, headphones around his neck, looking fresh off the shower as he greeted you. âI know Sunghoon and I invited you for dinner but I donât think itâs tonightââ
âWhereâs Jay?â
âJay?â Heeseung repeated, he didnât seem like he was believing what he had heard. You resisted the urge to roll your eyes to the back of your head.Â
âAre there other âJay's' that you know?â
âUhâno,â Heeseung stammered, shaking his head as if heâs trying to shake his dizziness away. âJay left already, Y/N,â
âOh,â it was obvious how deflated you became, the drop in your voice and disappointment written all over your face. Heeseung gave you an apologetic smile, but you could only manage a small wave of goodbye and a quiet bid of goodnight before turning back to the original path to the exit.Â
To say you felt frustrated, embarrassed, sad was an understatement, those words would never amount to the real emotions you were feeling. You were a mess, your love life was in a big distress and practically crumbling apart. The walk home couldnât be more depressing than usual, canât it?
Taylor Swift playlists to sob to, a tub of strawberry ice cream, a random rom com were all going to be your biggest hug of the night.
âGODS, THIS IS MISERABLE,â
A tub of half eaten ice cream sat sadly on your bedside table, a 90s romcom remained playing in the background. You couldnât help frowning at the sight of the two leads falling in love, everything felt pathetic at this point.
You truly did stick to your words. Arriving back to an empty dorm room, courtesy to Minji for staying over at her boyfriendâs place, you practically had the whole dorm to yourself, meaning a space of free self loathing, you ran to your bed and plummeted into it. It took everything in you to not let out a blood curdling scream, instead you just took your laptop out and put on your favourite movie.
It was still early, midnight was barely approaching, so you were glad to be able to stay awake longer. It began raining heavily outside, a perfect sign for you to be in your sheets, reading your unfinished book that youâve left hanging since months back. The whole scene of you being in bed on a rainy Friday night truly reflected a part from a romcom, how ironic it was.
In the midst of â16 Candlesâ playing loudly on your laptop, the doorbell rang out of the blue. You froze, pausing the movie, slight paranoia creeping onto you. Right, being alone in an empty dorm room with a thunderstorm happening outside definitely wasnât a common plot from horror. At first, you planned to ignore it, but a second ring prompted you to muster your courage to open the door.
âIâm going to be fineâ chants were circling your mind as you approached the front door, one hand on the door knob, eyes glancing back and forth at the kitchen knife, you werenât going down without a fight. A turn of the door knob and a pull of hand, the door swung open to a man. Wait. Not just any manâ
âJay?â
His name naturally rolled off your tongue, but your eyes couldnât believe heâs actually standing right in front of you.Â
Jay stared back, equally startled, as though he hadnât expected you to open the door for him. He was standing there like a ghost, fully drenched from head to toe, shaking from the rain. His face was impassive, but his gaze showed otherwise, a hint of sadness and desperation painted in his brown irises.
âAre you insane?â
Jay glanced down at his attire that was basically soaked to the core, a small sigh escaping his lips. âWe need to talk, Y/N,â
You nodded wordlessly, your eyes unknowingly avoiding his piercing gaze as you slowly backed away to the kitchen, grabbing a dry towel. âHere,â you handed Jay the towel, your hand shaking a little.Â
âThanks. Can Iââ he took a peek over your shoulder, ââcome in?â
âIâyeah,â you were slightly alarmed, moving to the side for him to enter before shutting the door, making sure to draw in a big breath to calm your nerves.
 âY/N, please let me explainââ
âJay, Iâm really sorryââ
The two of you halted, realising that youâve spoken in unison, the silence dawning on the both of you. Jay broke into an awkward smile and you felt yourself grinning just a little. Jay gestured at you to continue, so you did, letting out the things youâve bottle in for days.
âIâm sorry, I didnât know what happened and I just jumped to conclusions, which was wrong for me to do butââ you swallowed, blinking hard, ââbut it was heart wrenching for me to see you kissing someone else, especially when itâs your ex, and itâs stupid, itâs so stupid that Iâm feeling this way when weâre not even a thing!â
âItâs not stupid, Y/N,â
âIt is,â
âItâs not,â Jay repeated, taking a step closer, a look of pining in his eyes as he searched for yours. You didnât realise how much youâve truly missed him until you saw him close. âI never intended to kiss Sujin, you know? I went out because she called me saying she needed help, and she took the chance when I was confused to kiss me. I know Iâve asked for you to trust me before, but if you donât, Iâll get it,â
âI do,â you said at once, eliciting a small look of surprise from him. âI spoke to her,â
âWhat?â
âShe admitted it to me, and I wanted to find you after the game but you were already gone, then I realised how much of an Idiot I was,âÂ
âAh,â Jay said softly under his breath, combing his fingers through his hair, seemingly trying to digest everything in. The beat of silence was suffocating you gradually, uneasiness hung in the cold air of your dorm. It took you everything to pour the words youâve been holding in your heart out.
âI trust you, I do, but what are we, Jay? What are we doing?â you breathed out, chewing anxiously on your bottom lip. âIf you want to end it here, then say itââ
âWe can be anything you want,â
âI want you, Jay,â you blurted out, it was too late to turn back and run now. âI donât want you to need me, I want you to want me, just as much as I want you,â
Jay stepped closer, testing the waters between you and him before sensing the green light from you to continue further. Space was practically nonexistent, you were inches from him, letting his hand wander from your face to the back of your neck, naturally leaning into his warm touch that reminded you of the feeling of fire on a cold night. The hand resting on the back of your neck pulled you in closer, one wrong move and you would be kissing him.Â
âI do want you,â Jay said quietly, the minty scent laced in his breath entering your senses. âI like you, Y/N. Thereâs no doubt about that, I know it. Iâm aware that this whole thing started out fake and I expected nothing from it, but when I realised I felt something more for you, I was scared you would leave, especially since I had a history ofââ
âBeing a fuckboy?â
Jay rolled his eyes, grinning at the unamused look on your face. âThat. So I thought letting you go after that night was a good decision, that my feelings would eventually disappear and you wouldnât be hurt anymore, but God, I ended up hurting you instead and you have no idea how I had lost my mind,â
âJayâŚâ you were quite literally speechless, his words didnât just had to tongue tied and had rendered you wordless completely, it made your insides twist and turn in the most childish way, it made you feel like you were a teenage girl who had just talked to her crush for the first time, you were giddy.Â
âI choose you, my love. Any day, any time, anywhere. Itâs always going to be you, only you,â
You were resisting the urge to break into the cheesiest smile ever, Park Jong Seong was about to be the death of you. âI like you too, big head. If you donât kiss me now, I might change my mind,â
âYouâre going to be the death of me,âÂ
Jay finally closed the space between you and him, pressing his lips on yours feverishly, your honey flavoured melting onto his lips and his cologne swarmed your senses, this was heaven. His hand travelled back to rest on your cheek, while yours was having a field trip travelling up his chest and into his hair, giving a slight tug which resulted in a groan from him. You tilted your head, feeling Jay part his lips and deepening the kiss, his other hand on your waist to pull you much more closer, your body now pressed up against his.
âY/N,â he mumbled against your lips as you gently pushed him towards your couch.Â
You hummed in response, feeling his body fall onto the couch with a thud and you followed suit, falling onto his lap, his arm wrapped tightly around your waist. You opened your eyes, pulling away to meet his heavy gaze that was staring back with equal desire.
âBe my girlfriend?â his voice came out in a whisper, but your ears perked up at those three words, a teasing grin pulled at your lips and your hand instinctively reached for his cheek to squeeze, earning a look of annoyance and endearment from him.
âOnly if you take me out to dinner first, big head,â
âYouâre such a tease,â he chuckled, pressing a haste kiss on the side of your lips and you giggled, brushing the strands of hair from his forehead.
âIâd be crazy to say ânoâ after all this, you idiot,â you flicked at his forehead, eliciting a sharp hiss and a piercing glare from him, reminding you of a black cat. âSo, yes, Iâd like to be your girlfriend,â
You watched the man before you smiling wider than the time he won the championship with his team last season, his eyes shining bright and face beaming. Gosh, he was such a dream. One hand cupped your cheek, pinching it softly, âDonât worry, Iâll treat you like my wife instead,â
You rolled your eyes at his words, deadpanning at him. âYouâre too cheesy, Park Jong Seong,â
âAnd you love me for that.â he said in a sing-song tone before bringing you in for another kiss, this time softer and gentler, as if Jay was scared he would shatter you if he had kissed you too hard.Â
If you had the choice to stay just like this for the next few hours, you would gladly take it. You were relieved everything was well now, even if it meant Jay's wet pants were staining your couch, but you're sure Minji would understand.
Just as Taylor Swift would say, you believe you were entering your 'Lover' era, and you couldn't wait to be with your hotheaded hockey boyfriend. Yes, boyfriend, with no space.
âSO ⌠YOUâRE TELLING ME YOUâVE ALWAYS BEEN INTO ME ALL ALONG?â
It has been a few months since you and Jay made it official together. To top off the unforgettable experience, Minji came home the next day to see you and him cuddling in bed, not missing the chance to get a picture and proceeding to give Jay a humble Ted Talk during breakfast, but it was all good after.Â
Jay did stick to your request and bring you out for dinner, but Heeseung and Sunghoon unintentionally beat him to it first by dragging you to the buffet they promised before Jayâs fancy dinner night, and he was forced to follow begrudgingly. Breaking the news to Heeseung and Sunghoon was definitely an interesting occurrence, including the usual bro talk and the crazy ship names, but in the end, they were glad you were finally together with Jay and was miles prouder of Jay for finally working up the courage to confess.Â
Now, here you were, on a Saturday night at Jayâs apartment enjoying a glass of wine, a random rom com in the background as promised of a marathon, and listening to your tipsy boyfriend spill about his first impression of you, which led to him unveiling the part where he laid eyes on you during the hockey game.Â
âNot always, donât get ahead of yourself,â Jay cut you off, raising an eyebrow at you. "I still can't believe you called hockey stupid,"
"It was a moment of hatred, okay?" You tapped his chin, swirling the wine glass in your hand. "Now, I'm a big hockey fan,"
"You're stupid,"Â
You feigned a dramatic gasp, punching his shoulder softly. "You're stupid ⌠stupid,"
"Yes, yes, I am," Jay eventually gave in, closing in and pressing his lips onto yours, tasting the familiar taste of the red wine on your tongue. "I'm so grateful to have you with me, lovely. What would I be doing without you?"
"Fucking other girls?"
"You've ruined the mood,"
You laughed, pressing a kiss on his cheek. "I'm kidding. You would be in a ditch without me,"
"You're not wrong," Jay's thumb was grazing against your lip, his eyes half-lidded, the alcohol in his system overpowering. "God, I love you,"
"I love you more, big head," you said, feeling a swarm of butterflies fluttering wildly in your abdomen. Jay was perfect, too perfect that it intimidated you, but what you didn't know was that he felt the same way about you too. "Are you turning red, Jong Seong?"
"What? Pft, it's the wine," he waved your words off, turning away to hide the obvious that he was becoming a shade of pink and maroon. You snorted at his ridiculousness, pushing his face to face back at you.
"Kiss me again?"
"You make me such a happy man, you know that?" Jay grinned, saying nothing more and pulled you in, abandoning his wine glass.
Jay couldnât help but smile against your lips, being the happiest man in the entire universe at this moment, because he knew he finally got the girl, his girl, and there was no way he would ever lose you again. Never.
