hi I understand i might sound annoying but can you please write the main highlights from that long ass radio interview? and some say that that Shane guy was kinda (or really) disrespectful towards Seb's fans and/or his career - i really don't know what is true, im confused and I'm asking the one that actually has listened to all of that. ty in advance love
Yeah the guy was a douche, said that Marvel arenât âreal moviesâ and said that Seb must be ready for that part of his life to be done so he can do some real acting. He also said the fan questions that were sent in sucked which to be fair, they usually suck so heâs probably not wrong, but he was v condescending. ANYWAY, onto Sebâs highlights.Â
- He spoke about how he thought the world overall would be safer if it was run by women. He mentioned a book called Sapiens: A Brief History of Human Kind by Yuval Noah Harari, that explores that idea, like would there be fewer wars, would there be less violent death. I linked the book on Amazon if anyone is interested in giving it a read. - Also on the topic of women, he said that women donât need men. They donât need men for work, or for food, or even to reproduce, so itâs time for men to ask themselves what their purpose is, what theyâre here for, and what kind of man they are.- He said that whilst heâs aware of whatâs happening in the world, he isnât actively involved in politics because he doesnât feel he knows enough to be making statements on things he doesnât fully understand. - He did speak about 3 issues that are important to him and heâs working closely with charities for these things and those are Autism, as itâs something that affects his manager who he has worked with for 22 years, Alzheimerâs because his stepdad got it and ultimately passed away from it, and a charity in Romania that works with orphaned children, the elderly and families living in poverty, called Our Big Day Out. (That link is obvs in romanian but their insta is ourbigdayout if you wanna check them out there)- He said that heâs an overthinker and can think himself into a depression in about 15 seconds. He also said that he can be emotionally unavailable and that probably makes him hard to date. - He said that he hates criticism, but that he is super hard on himself both personally and professionally. And he compares himself at 35 with his dad at 27 and his mum at 24 and realises that when they were his age they were parents and he sometimes feels like he should be at that point now, but then has to remember that we exist in a very different world now to 35 years ago. - He said he ended up sat on Hugh Jackmanâs wifeâs lap at one point during the Golden Globes??? But didnât expand on this??? Gave no context or reasons why??? So thatâs a mystery rn. - ALSO BACK TO WOMEN. There was a woman in the interview and these men were all hypothesising about what women want and my man was like âCan I ask her a question is that okay?â and theyâre like yh sure and heâs like âWhat is it that women want?â and i was like look at that. A man with a brain. Who figured the best person to answer that was probably a woman. - He said he mostly listens to stuff from the 70s+80s as well as like 90s rap (which is an absolute mood) but his favourite song right now is by someone called G Eazy (a gentleman i had to google bc i had no idea who he was, this 35 year old white man is cooler than i am)- He said heâd really like to work with Denis Villeneuve and I breathed a sigh of relief he didnât say Woody Allenâs name again. - He drinks almond milk. - He said he isnât ready for his time with Marvel to be done - like the interviewer so rudely suggested - because he grew up on these films, they helped him grow, theyâre a lot of fun to work on, itâs nice to go back to your friends every year or so, and he really loves the character. - He spoke a little bit about the history and politics of Romania, and how the revolution kinda left a lot of people fucked over and a lot of kids as orphans and left to fend for themselves in Bucharest. Because basically CeauĹescu outlawed abortion and contraception whilst he was in power in an effort to increase the work force, but it meant so many unwanted kids were just sent to orphanages. After the revolution, kids escaped orphanages, and ran away from home, or were sent away by parents who couldnât support them, and a lot of them ended up living in the tunnels of the subway system in the city. And a lot of them, like really young kids, ended up addicted to spray paint fumes and it was really fucked up. But he spoke about that in connection with why heâs working with that Romanian charity. Also, he didnât speak about this, but if anyone is interested, thereâs a documentary called Children Underground about this. Itâs obviously in Romanian but you can use English subtitles.Â
