Observing her as she works, mostly out of habit and also to make sure she didnât ruin his pants further (not that he had doubts, of course not), Mammon lightly shakes his head in a ânoâ, âIâve been at this long enough that such things donât tire me out.â He answers, allowing his arms to lower from their stiff position to rest on his thighs, âIâm an immortal. Granted, I get aches and pains as anyone else, but you donât need to concern yourself with such.â
A chuff of amusement is uttered as he shakes his head again, âMy dear, Iâm his âfriendâ. I fell shortly after he did. My word. What else do you not know? I suppose I can indulge you and tell you the things youâve missed out. Itâs the least I can do. Canât have you wandering around being entirely clueless.â
:: Choosing to pointedly ignore his attempt to make her feel like a fool, she continued to do the job sheâd offered to. Her nimble fingers worked fast but precise, her eye laser focused on every individual stitch. It was bound to take a minute though. With legs like his he had to have pants to match after all, so she supposed sheâd have to tolerate his insults until she was finished. âI told you, I donât remember much. I was kind of asleep for awhile. Also I didnât know him well enough to figure out who his pals are. I only just found out about you a little while ago.â She clarified.
âI mean... I donât THINK I knew him that well... Itâs kind of fuzzy.â She shrugged, pausing for just a moment to make eye contact. âIâm not stupid, you know. Not knowing about a handful of things from the past few decades isnât a super big deal besides it wasnât exactly my FAULT. Youâre acting like Iâm doing it on purpose or something. I think you just get off on feeling better than everyone.â And there it was. The brain to mouth filter just dissolving, leaving her cupping her tiny hands over her mouth, needle hanging limp from where sheâd been sewing. Her cheeks flushed a bright red. Well, it was out there now. ::
