I haven't had much time to be reading lately, but one recent fic that I read an enjoyed was this one:

A Dead Man Walking by rogerzsteven

He blinks rapidly and everything hits him at once. His head is throbbing, like his brain wants to rip his skull in two and thrust through his forehead. His face is on fire, especially his cheekbones. And it hurts. He feels an excessive amount of liquid— is that blood? flooding down his nose. He licks his lips and the taste of iron makes him gag involuntarily. There is a lot of blood on his face. His heart is beating out of his chest and the blood rushing through his ears, making a whooshy sound, only brings him closer to the edge of panic. He staggers on his feet and feels his vision becoming hazy.

Trying to think of my ultimate whump preference for S6 Buck is so hard, nonnie! I have no idea what I would want. I really would like a home invasion because I've wanted that as far back as I can remember. I think the first time I read a home invasion fic, I was like that's what we need in the show! What's so great about it is that you can hurt the character and really shake them up, but it's not a long lasting whump like Buck's leg breaking– take a few hits or even just have him hide away and call for help.

I would absolutely die for Buck getting attacked on a call, too! Maybe by a disgruntled patient or someone who's just not all in their head at the moment because they're in shock or traumatized and it's not obvious before Buck approaches them. I remember reading a fic when a father tackles Buck in this daze of I need to get my kids out! when the kids had already been rescued but he couldn't be reasoned with. You could also go the Meredith Grey route if you know what I mean. 👀

I have SO many thoughts, nonnie! I’m really excited to think about the potential of “Home Invasion” specifically. There are some theories going around that this may be connected to Hen and Karen because it’s right before Henren Begins (which I am also ecstatic about), but I’m really hoping to see something connected to Buck and/or Eddie because I am a Buck Whump Enthusiast at heart. I did see someone mention that Home Invasion could be connected to the station itself rather than one person’s home which would be really fun!
