Pondercanons for Hell Arc Grimmjow
-Aligning against common threats. Showing up with Nelliel and Harribel but going off on his own right after.
-I think it would be narratively fulfilling to have Grimmjow sweep Nnoitra aside like Nnoi did to him after his last fight with Ichigo, except instead of taking a cheap shot like Nnoitra did, Grimm gets a fair fight, and wins. Nnoitra would inevitably reconstitute and regenerate in Hell, but the kill would be a satisfying get-back.
Alternatively: Nnoitra’s already damaged from a fight when Grimmjow arrives. Nnoi pushes for a fight Grimmjow isn’t interested in, and when Nnoitra attacks anyway, he gets one-shot.
Maybe the setup is that Nnoitra confronts Ichigo in Hell for a match, and Grimm one-shots Nnoi, both for revenge and because he wants to fight Ichigo. I don’t know if Grimmjow and Ichigo would fight or if something plot-wise would interrupt them. If they do fight, I see it being a draw that ends amicably. Maybe.
-He may keep or remove the scar Nnoitra left on his body.
-Hell arc Grimmjow is confident in a calmer way with less of a need to prove himself. It’s settling debts and moving forward. Where there’s enough calamity to call it a show, he might appear. He’s an unpredictable, recurring presence after the arc’s conflict is resolved.

Survival as an Adjuchas in Hueco Mundo demands consumption, movement, and evolutionary ascent. Grimmjow’s refusal to stagnate and succumb to regression painted him as a leader in the eyes of his followers. Though, where they saw a king, Grimmjow saw opportunities and resources. The group’s concentration of reiatsu coupled with Grimmjow’s strength guaranteed a steady flow of prey and sustainability for the pack, but most importantly contributed to his evolution.
To Grimmjow, a king is a world of one. A king is in control of his path and stays advancing, unerasable. He was initially angered over the murders of his Fracción, but he understood from the beginning that his pack would not survive indefinitely. Their ends were inevitable but necessary to his progression.
Aligning himself with Aizen was also opportunistic. The Hōgyoku and Aizen’s ranks set a path to greater power, and sharing a base with the strongest monsters around sounded convenient and enticing.
Grimmjow views relationships through utility, dominance, and personal validation. Being a pride-driven hunter with a need for worthy opposition, he needs others around for that. A worthy opponent functions like a mirror that reflects his own limits back at him, and combat is physical proof of his power and that he’s actually advancing. Ichigo is the benchmark here, as he is someone Grimmjow hasn’t been able to defeat yet.
Survival scars Grimmjow physically, but even more-so mentally. He wants to exist in such a way that he cannot be dominated or consumed. His existence and efforts can't be invalidated if he's at the top.
