âThatâs a question Iâve asked myself a lot,â she admitted, not sure she had even come up with one. It was easy to say but it was different if you were actually in the situation, at least thatâs what she had come to learn through all of the reading she had been doing. âItâs like this balance of not wanting to cause more trauma than has already been done,â she admitted and took a deep breath, already feeling like she had said to much. âDelicate things take..delicate responses, you know? So Iâm trying to figure out a delicate..direct response aside from bringing more pain and harm.â She hung her head for a moment before taking another deep breath and reached for her drink. âThanks and, I know it probably only gave you more reason to worry but I promise you things are fine or well, they will be,â she added, feeling confident even if she didnât have a direct plan yet but she still had a few things she hadnât tried. âUh anyway, what should I get Danny for Christmas? Has he been dropping any hints?â
Well, he had his suspicions about who she was talking about, but he also knew if he asked and was wrong then that might give her a whole new issue to worry about, and that wouldnât help anyone. âNot really. The reality if you do nothing then the trauma will definitely continue, if you do something, it will end. Yeah, alright there might be a blow out, but the risk of something that could happen seems less then the fact that it definitely would continueâ what-ifs... god he hated them. They had ruined his life once before, he could tell they would continue to do so if people listened to them. He also knew how hard it was to ignore them. âIf it was as bad as you say, thereâs nothing delicate about itâ only emotions and relationships. Those could be fixed, other things couldnât be. âYou know well enough that Iâm going to worry. You also know that I know Evie well enough to know it isnât you, and really thereâs only two other optionsâ he replied softly. âNot a one, least nothing anything can get himâ he replied, trying to focus on the holiday, though not easy with that conversation in his mind.Â
