“Honestly?” she asked, her tone changing slightly. “‘Cause I don’t wanna make a friend and then accidentally eat ‘em during an episode.”

“Isn’t that why I'm here, to make sure that doesn't happen?”

“That’s kind of a.. ridiculous thing to make up, though,” Finnegan said, almost laughing.

“Maybe,” he nodded, “But it also sounds almost too ridiculous to be true”

“Yes, but… the offer still ends, y’know.”

He sighed “Yeah fine alright”

“It’s not a lie,” he said. “Why would I lie about not being able to touch stuff?”

“I don't know, it just sounds made up”

“That’s not a actual answer. I only take ‘yes’ or ‘no’s’, and if you don’t hurry, the offer will end–just like in those infomercials.”

“But this isn't an infomercial”

She shook her head. “No, I haven’t really talked to anyone.”

“Well why not?”

“I mean, that’s what it is,” she shrugged. “Not like it was easy to do this shit back home.” She looked at him. “You have friends?”

“Yeah but shits supposed to be different here. Yeah- sorta. You have friends?”

“Yeah, I would, but away from all the people,” she said. “Hey, that’s what going to restaurants and libraries and talking to people is, isn’t it?” She raised her brows. “You sure about that?”

“Yeah, thats normal people stuff- I just don't get why we have to call it that”

“Even if I wasn’t alright, d’you really think I’d say it loud enough for people to hear it?” Harley asked. “But I mean, yeah. I’m fine. It’s easier to do normal people things here, so it’s nice. How’re you?”

“I think you'd tell me, wouldn't you?” he shrugged “Normal people things-” he shook his head slightly “Im fine”
