One Shot for Anon
I don’t get sick very often, but when I do...I turn into the biggest baby on the planet. It’s quite pathetic, really. Since me and Hunter have only been together for a handful of months, he has yet to see me sick...until now. I woke up this morning cursing the sky for the scratchy throat and pounding headache it had given to me. I knew this was only the beginning, and that tomorrow and the days following are going to be 10 times worse. So I email my teacher and tell her I won’t be in class this afternoon, I text my friend Sally and ask her to take extra notes for me so I won’t get too far behind, and then I send a text to Hunter and let him know that I won’t be able to meet him at the venue for his meet and greet. Then I take some vitamins and medicine, down an entire class of orange juice, and drag my butt back to bed.
I wake up 3 hours later to the sound of my dog barking at the front door. I put my slippers on and head downstairs. And there he is...Hunter Hayes, standing in my doorway with a bag full of ‘feel better goodies’ and a guitar case sitting on the ground beside me. At the sight of me, he starts to giggle. I’m sure I look a mess, but I’m way to sick to care. I merely wave him into the house, and trudge my way to the warm and inviting couch. Hunter follows me, grabbing a quilt off the back of the chair and drape it over my lap. He opens up his magical bag and shows me all the goodies he brought for me.
‘’I know that reese’s sticks are your favorite candy, so I brought you some of those. I also brought you some chicken noodle soup, a few new books, and a big jug of sweet tea!’’
Honestly, is there even a better boyfriend out there than Hunter Hayes? Nope, there isn’t.
He sits with me for hours as we watch low-budget horror movies On Demand, and before he leaves for his sound check, he tucks me back into bed, makes sure I have my medicine and water, then kisses my forehead. He tells me that he hopes I feel better, that he’ll text me throughout the show, and he will be back by my side as soon as the show is over.
